Thnks for the review :) The 4S is not 4x sec to 100, its between 3.6 - 3.8 in all launches. After having driven both the difference to RWD is monumental. Especially in the torque, the RWD takes some time "thinking" before it launches from a roll.

I prefer the exterior look of the Taycan but the Audi is better on the inside. Both are hilariously out of my price range though, I'm driving a Golf, lol. Great review as always Thomas, always a pleasure!
Performance battery also ads more power. It’s about 40-60 less than standard 4S. What they need is an S model. It would fulfill perfectly the sporty need, while retaining the rwd.

European electric cars are behind the ball because Tesla bought GmbH a couple of years ago. Car companies no longer have the access to this brilliant minds.
Great video. I happen to have test-driven the base Taycan yesterday. Really base with few options. Must say it's disappointing and feels like an ordinary car. But I also tried a Taycan Turbo S with all options included and that one was fantastic. Nobody needs the acceleration of the Turbo models in my opinion. But if you go for a base Taycan you should pick a few options like air suspension, rear axis steering, Bose sound, nice interior etc. Then you wil have a very good car that is fast enough - even here in Germany where I see a speed limit coming soon ;-(
Beautiful color and the lines with the low architecture profile make this a sedan just perfect. Now lets see how many coins are under the sofas cushions, cheers ......
These cars are so fantastically made, and the sound that you’re hearing when his hands are in across the steering wheel that’s real leather there’s not a piece of real leather in a Tesla. You just don’t get the soul in the emotion that you do not have a car that has the heritage like a Porsche.
Love the design though in my opinion it would look nicer in white or silver due to the contrasting black trim design elements. It looked like so much fun to drive around tight corners. Porsche has definitely not lost on their driving fun ethos even in electric...
How much does it cost to charge it at Ionity as a member? I see the rate of 0.79 euros/kw for non members...that is extremely expensive, it means a minimum of 14.22 euros/100km. For a Porsche owner this would not matter but for more affordable electric car this can be a deal breaker... unless you own a house and you can charge it overnight at home at lower cost.
Very nice video, thanks! I am collecting my brand new Taycan RWD tomorrow morning, in the same colour, cherry red. So exciting! The test drive blew me away, so I placed an order immediately, but had to wait about 6 months for it to be built. I believe the waiting list is now much longer, so it will be worth more secondhand than I've paid for it. Most of the options seemed a waste of money to me. The salesman said the main option to specify, is the longer range battery, which I did. Apart from that, I chose Turbo wheels, and a few small items, but the other options are too expensive and of little value to me.
Because there is a so called foot Garage to avoid that your knees are in your face like in a Model 3. Means there is no Batterie bellow your feet, but instead in the Tunnel. This is why SUVs are easier to construct.
Had an opportunity to drive this variant of the Taycan today. Sorry to say...I was not too impressed. Felt underpowered under full throttle . The 4S would no doubt provide the acceleration I desire. Also, I'm 6'4" and found it quite awkward to exit the vehicle when the seat is pushed back all the way. The strange gear selector seems oddly located as well. Lots of nice design features too... and I love electric mobility....but the Taycan just doesn't do it for me.

The model of the car, I mean the shape, for me it looks relatively an old model like if it was designed for the year 2004, the back looks like if they brought it from their new cars but sure it looks fake and doesn't fit with the whole shape design look! Interesting to see this video getting so few views compared to your normal videos, is this due to electric cars still not being as aspirational as a shouty petrol engine?
While not inexpensive, I believe this model represents value for money. €88,000 euro here in Ireland 🇮🇪 That’s not much more than an Audi A7. Interestingly, given the higher value retention over 3 years, Porsche Ireland quoted me a lower monthly payment for the Taycan than Audi did for the A7. Makes sense to me to buy a Porsche. BTW, the Audi GT here starts at €102,000 🤭 so I wouldn’t even consider it!

Nice car Thomas but being a 'petrol head' I just can't get excited by a near silent car. It may be the future but it's not necessarily progress. Cost of the car and lack of charging infrastructure will be its biggest hurdles.
I’m looking at very cheap plastics: trunk sill, and interior A pillars. I know Porsche is part of VW, but using Polo plastic on a car that costs 5X more is not acceptable.
Design is good, Audis etron is better, the problem is the price of these cars. You can buy two - three Teslas for the price and get more range and acceleration. So obviously most people would rather choose Tesla and save a lot of money.
How do all these upcoming RWD models expect to work good as expected in snow and. Even the best latest limousines had bad usability in rain AND snow if only RWD
Hi Thomas, while we understand the importance of going electric to reduce carbon emission which i’m supportive, the car lost its “soul” making only very faint engine sound. gonna miss the petrol producing engine sound in time to come.

Why is there a transmission tunnel between the rear seats like in ICE vehicles?
Because there is a so called foot Garage to avoid that your knees are in your face like in a Model 3.
