The face swapping feature was something that was available way back in Lumia phones. It's insane how a phone could be ahead of its time and behind its competition at the same time.
Strangely, Google is the only Android manufacturer to have finally understood that the quality of iPhone videos is based on post-processing, however, it really bothers me that it is done in the cloud for Pixels and not on device, it poses a privacy, confidentiality problem in my opinion.

The multi shots taken makes me think back to the main benefit originally when digital came to replace film, was that you could take multiple and not worry about bad photos where film was usually a one click thing because you were limited on the amount of photos you could take.
"Best take" on Samsung GALAXY NOTE 2. This old "new" feature "Best take" (swapping faces after a burst shot) was already available on the Galaxy Note 2 in 2012. So 11 years ago!!! I loved that feature and never understood why it wasn't available in following Galaxy models anymore.
Because group of kids run Samsung and they change their mind every few days. They're maturing now but still can't keep themselfs straight and have full consistency.
This is getting kinda creepy. But hey I switched from a galaxy to a pixel and have no desire to switch back. The ai assist features make things super simple
Man, we're moving into a time in which a Pixel will be able to edit completely raw footage into a UA-cam video and ask you to share it. I think if Marques does that, we may not even notice. Remember that video when he uttered the words that ChatGPT created, and joked about that? It really sparks the question: Does creativity really matter to the people watching a particular UA-camr, considering that more and more people prefer a piece of content attached by a video game?
Google is busy with complex features but have failed to save selfie videos are previewed. It keeps saving videos as mirror of the preview mode. And the pixel app does not have options to flip or mirror the video later. Why?
Exactly. There's a whole lot of charged language in this segment, with seemingly zero reference to the ways these sorts of technologies (albeit much more user-intensive) have been used and around for awhile.
The pixel 10 with the tensor G5 would be amazing if it dumps samsung and actually makes a fully custom Tensor, with oodles of cache and probably with the Cortex X5 Supercore which will be a major redesign
I’m wondering how well “Best Take” works IRL tho. In theory, yes it can work very smoothly. But, nowadays, when a smartphone snaps a picture, it actually snaps 10 pictures and combine them and produce one final result. That alone is a lotta processing. So with best take, if the phone simply just grabs the face from other frames the phone takes before and after the main frame, it will not look as good. More processing needs to be in place so that it can work nicely. Nowadays, “AI” is just thrown around like quantum physics. So I’m eager to test this new feature on the pixel
Love Pixel phones. I use them since Pixel 2 XL just because of those cameras.... But Google... I can understand software that improves a photograph in a smartphone and I'm in to it. What I cannot understand is why you need to change entirely a photograph, moving thing around, changing the sky, adding things etc. What's the point of it? This is not photography, it's something imaginary that never happened. And that's not what photography is all about.
why is not a positive thing? Is it positive when a skilled person uses photoshop, aftereffects and lightroom to manipulate photos and videos and charge for it?
@@charanteja200 No, not really. We are essentially erasing reality and losing unique moments in order to build fictional bubbles that better fit the narrative we are aiming for. Plus, it opens up this huge alternative reality that is just perfect for misinformation and misinterpretation.
I do think that the thought of the pictures not being 'real' anymore, is a bit of creating a mountain out of a molehill. These things are not new at all. The only thing that changed is that the edits that normally took longer to make, can be made on the phone itself. Normally you would have to get on the desktop and go to photoshop or something. Now you just select on your phone what you want. Is that so different from normal? I mean, if it still works like it always did, you open Google Photos on your phone, make changes, and then save a copy with those changes in it. So the original is still there. So isn't it just something we have always seen but it works faster now?
Those knuckles try to spin things the way they want. Aren't they all editing videos ? The moment you retouch anything - it's called EDITED. Being tech reviewers how conveniently they forget the name of features and ask oh what was it's name ? 😂
yeah no, thank you. Hardware over software any time. I want the picture the way I took it, maybe with minimal editing but why would I wanna fake the picture. It's impressive what the software can do but - for me - it would be utterly useless and I would probably never use any of it. Then again, everyone got their preferences.
I set the focus and exposure right ask the people to adjust their pose if needed and click one good picture and hand them their phone😎. It's the best, if they don't agree they can hire a photographer.
