Brownell's has a complete G.I. M14 Cleaning kit listed. It includes the Combination Wrench and Ratcheting Chamber Brush. #100-003-020AU M1A/M14 Kit, 5K19B99....$22.99 listed on their web site.
My son bought me a M1A precision loaded a year ago and still have not shot it ..I just now ordered the scope mount and deciding what scope to get which brings me here cause i have not cleaned it yet ..this video is very helpful along with the comments.
WOW! I actually learned a LOT from you and YES, I was waiting for you to RING the tuning fork! Job well done! SUBSCRIBED!!! I have a SOCOM 16 and all the knowledge still applies..
After Afghanisan, I am hyper awar of where dirt and grit can go! Ans my beloved M1A gets papmered every time I shoot it....even if it's only 40 rounds! Thank you for the video!!
Great video thanks for sharing , im new to this platform and I absolutely love it , got a M1a socom16 and first hunt this weekend got 3 deer with it using factory irons, hands down some of the best money I've ever spent !!!! I need these tools and kit
Check out Sadlak's web site as well as Brownell's and MidwayUSA. Brownell's should make a tool kit with all the relevant tools for the M-14 / M1A but so far no luck. Just do a search in rifle tools and choose M1A and you'll be flooded with options. Good luck and happy hunting.
rumble.com/v26yjoo-fulton-armory-m14-vs-mud-and-crud.html I am no longer putting up my newest videos here on UselessTube. Here is a link to the mud test video. Knowing how the rifle operates and using grease, it will run when covered in mud.
Do you replace your extractors with GI ones? People swear that the factory one is MIM and is unreliable. Mine has north if 500 rds without issue, but I'm considering replacing it with a GI.
I have heard the same thing. A GI or drop Forged replacement in your range bag is a good idea. And is on the list of essential parts I am going to cover in another video. I would purchase one and intend to before all is said and done.
Ha Mack, I've been looking for that M1A ratchet bore brush that inserts into the GI combo tool. I looked at Brownell and Midway USA, couldn't find the brush. Do You mind telling me where You got yours. Thank You.
@@quarry679 okay here is the Brownell's part number . #084-140-486AU Ratchet Chamber Brush 4H5P99 $6.99. Put that into the search bar on their home page, should take you right to it.
@@quarry679 No problem. I pinned a comment at the top on this video with the Sku # for the entire G.I. cleaning kit that is also available from Brownell's. So if you want the entire kit the info is in the pinned comment
Do you have a dial caliper? I did a video on getting a battle zero but I didn't preset and lock my caliper before I started. So I flubbed it a bit. I think the suggested amount is .008ths increments to center the front sight before adjusting elevation. I would measure the front sight base and center it exactly before starting. Follow the directs for the rear sight to zero it for you. The adjust the elevation knob and tighten it.
Question Buddy I picked up a flip up butt plate for my scout. Will it use the same hardware as the rubber one,or are the screws shorter? Haven`t pulled the factory one off yet. Thanks!
I think I remember seeing different length screws for rubber butt pads. But I used the same screws that came with the polymer stock when I installed the steel butt plate on the G.I. fiberglass stock.
I would also include a broken case extractor in your kit. They are inexpensive and it's the only thing that is going to get a broken case out of your chamber. Here is a link to one on Amazon: www.amazon.com/UTG-7-62x51mm-Broken-Shell-Extractor/dp/B00NJFVACA
That's why you shouldn't waste your money on that stupid multi-tool (NOT ESSENTIAL). It's too small to get leverage on the gas plug. Just use a ratchet with 3/8th socket. Your not in the middle of a battle. You always have a chance to do all your work at home OR just have a small tool box in your truck (as you should).
You are not thinking about field use. In the field having one tool to do the job is better than several. One too in the Rifle VS in your gear. They cost less and were designed for the job.
Can you post links to these items

Great video. Thank you Sir, I appreciate ya!
Thanks for the Video. Good stuff.
Well done. Can’t wait to get my Scout Squad out for some trigger time. I think I can afford maybe 5 shots.
I hear you and am in the same boat. Make every shot count when you do.

Thousandth’s of an inch.

Yeah but it's he'll trying to buy an axe of machete. They always give me the hairy eyeball.

I agree and have one. I thought I had included it in this video. Mine stays in the rifle.
