Cups will increasingly matter more. Having a championship of any sort always matters... It bothers me when people try to minimize anything competitive. People compete to win, now here goes this guy being selective as to which wins count. If everyone competed, and I am the only one that wins, it's a big deal, no matter the sport or time of the year.
I dnt think it's that the nba cup will ever mean as much as an nba championship but real competitors will want to have that on their resume that simple, champions are champions.
NO one is going to care about cups for ACTIVE veteran players BUT maybe 40-50 yrs from now... Yeah, it'll matter more. Hell, the athletes want it & compete FOR it, so, Y would it NOT matter?
Sick of players that have Ego's like Lebron still getting all the hype when Jokic and Giannis are so hungry doing what they are doing to make the big debate.. NBA is losing it.
Cups are as important as championships everywhere on the planet in basketball and football. You may think its not important now now but in 15-20 years time it will be an important factor in their resume
It has to mean more than nothing, because it is something - if it means nothing, whu bother? The season means nothing, as season MVP doesn't do it....let's just shorten the season, and ONLY have playoffs. It's ridiculous that 82 games are relatively meaningless and they create a competitive first half...and say...yeah, worthless. It's that attitude that ruins ALL of basketball. Want the pros to try...give more credit to something more than the finals. NBA sucks because the average fan...also shit shooting, bad refs and no D.
In soccer titles and cups are. Adding to your legacy. Why not basketball.
It does but rings in the playoffs matter the most in March may show you were truly the best team in a tough 7 game homecourt series
@@goat7651 Only today. But by the time Giannis retires, the cup will mean a lot more than you think of it today.
Because the media force feeds the casual fan their red meat that the playoffs are the only thing worth watching

I like the idea of multiple cups and championships ...just like soccer
hot takes from Wright again....

What were the Lakers since 2013-before LBJ arrived?
This man is literally speaking for himself lmao

100%. The fact that LeBron and Giannis won the first two is huge for the legacy of the tournament.
How does he do in games to win rings. Zero lol
