its the guy!
content about to get extra spicy
Seriously though, he is an absolute legend for this.
Probably practicing it right now 😂
I love that every few months you take all your theorizing, discussing and experimenting i see glimpses of in the rollouts channel and turn them into videos so they are digestible for a broader audience. We truly don't deserve your dedication ❤️
He's like you
The community deserves even better ❤
@@thevilnside you must be evil inside, every psycho is the guy that was so nice and that we couldn't believe he did that

It blows my mind how Apex movement evolves every year and the tech continues to push the skill gap significantly.
You're a legend for breaking everything down and explaining each step. Then you put in the extra effort by giving the reasoning behind everything. Your channel is about to get some crazy love from the community.
As much as I love watching people do it, I absolutely hate playing against it. I'm old, like the 'hand and eyes doesn't do what I told them to do' old. So I have no plan to learn or invest time into creating muscle memory. If I fight someone and see them go 'hippidy hoppidy who's your daddy?' I fuck off. Stay as far away as possible from these building with movement element and just play the position+aim game.
I truely bless you young folk on these new horizon you embarking but god damn it I hate you
@@shanefrey we hate you too old man
I disagree. Past a certain point, all these extra "movement freak" techniques are useless against better players. Since, I think about it like: good players are always faster and more efficient at killing so as you learn more advanced techniques, it does not increase the skill gap since countering it is very simple. Just my take.
@@JesusChristReturn it is certainly useful while escaping from a good player who does not know those technics. and it's really important in RANK or PUB (not comp).. even pro players got outplay by faide or other movement gods.
@@johnli7818 Faide is an exception cos hes actually good, most people fail trying to play with good movement.
you chain all the stuff so masterfully with the fundamentals its crazy, a true movement champion evil!
I feel like being able to interact with the zip is because of the camera pitch in Source. A similar thing that happens is that when you look straight up in CS:GO and spray, you'll see your minimap flip around as if you were turned the opposite direction. And Apex has a subtle pitch change when jumping, almost to simulate a small camera bob when beginning the jump. If you're looking -90deg down, straight down, and jumped, the incredibly small duration of the camera pitching down to bob allows you to look at like -92deg, being able to interact with the object behind you.
I think it still needs more testing but what you say makes sense.
@@thevilnside if there was a way to increase camera bob on jumps where you want the longest time to ghost jump, i think that’d be worthwhile. what if disabling reduced camera shake (i think that was in apex) gives you more time?
I've actually done some testing with ghost interactions for a good bit, and I've found out a few other things:
First, and obviously, this works with horizontal ziplines as well. I can't say if it's useful at all, but it is a thing.
Second, the degree to which you need to look up/down varies depending on how close you are to looking at the zipline. Start at about 90 degrees (0 being facing the zipline, 180 being facing away rom the zipline, there's a steady increase into needing to look nearly all the way up to interact with it. This is especially useful for those of us on controller who can't flick up to the top or down to the bottom as quick as this. Looking up/down is a very consistent way of doing them though.
Let's goo!! - Thank you for making this guide ❤, it's so rich in details and so well explained, hope i see a bunch of ghost jumper's from now on hahaha
Insane. The movement in this game is the principal reason I keep playing it. This video is so well explained too good job man.
this is amazing. just subbed. unbelievable movement. new in season 14 and im on controller but the main reason i love apex is the in depth movement and how you can manipulate mechanics for wall bouncing and strafing etc just super cool love this video man keep it up!
this is soooo nuuuts. 2 years and we're still discovering ways to increase the skill ceiling and just have fun moving. gahd I love apex.
Just when I think the movement couldn't be any more insane LMAO
Just flawless movement and a damn fine explanation on everything about the tech. W’s.
MAN I CAN'T WAIT TO GO BCK TO PC GAMING, started apex on console but started gaming on pc but pc broke mid way through highschool graduated now and worked and saved whole year to build a pc all the parts arrived this morning
Absolute W vid. 10/10 explanation not to mention the effort to include all the different use cases for ghost jumping. Keep up the good work 🙃
Your explanation is very kind,I appreciate it.
"Or maybe we just hear some footsteps" ha imagine
I said "maybe" for a reason... :D
@@thevilnside From now on, I'll just assume everyone ghost jumped behind me haha
really incredible video. honestly was such a pleasure to watch while being super informative
Hello, I wanna ask if it’s okay to let me reproduce this movement in Chinese? Not only translation but also create another video so it’s easier for our community to understand.
We shall credit you and the original video.
Sure, no problem.
@@thevilnside thank you!
This tutorial was so helpful! Thank you so much!
This reminds me of something I discovered in the range where if you jump at a wall, look down and jump again, you get right over it without climbing at all
This is an AMAZING tutorial! Great job man, thank you for this. I subbed! 💪
I don't know if it's the same as KB/M, I'm sure it is, but on controller you can just have your back to the zip and hold Interact and just jump and you'll leap forward. I used to do this all the time in the range when warming up. You don't need to jump/interact/jump. Just hold interact and jump when close
Very informative and concise video. Well done!
We love you man and seeing you on here made my day
love to see you return, keep it up!
Dude this is absolutely crazy. Amazing video
This was so much helpful thanks you bro!
HAVE TO LEARN THIS
Bro, big thx to you, you are helping me improve soo munch, maybe some day when o gona create more videos maybe i will also teach some new movement techs.
Amazing stuff bro 😍
This is siiick!!! I will definetely try and master this!
Subbed and liked! Great stuff!
holy we have battled in R5Reloaded before! Your great keep it up man
You got some sick moves! Is that anywhere near to being possible on Controller? (Without configs I mean)
I would say things you can do without tap strafing are very limited. Like I said at the end of the video, the true potential of Ghost Jumping is when we combine it with other movement techs.
But things like 02:02 and 02:25 can be done consistently on controller/console.
insane guide bro, nice!
how do you get your graphics like that? looks like lower than the lowest settings
No texture streaming budget and probably 1680x1050 res
@@user_bilal yeap, just everything low or disabled in game settings.
@@thevilnside thanks for the reply bois, but does that really boost performance? last time i put everything on low but i still had max texture stream and my game literally ran worse than when i had on high ahhaha
Sir, I'm an apex mobile player and I want to know if we could apply things like this ghost jumping or others mechanism on mobile version. I realize the camera movement was quite limited also heavily rely on right thumb if using external trigger buttons rather than 4 fingers (Could be different on everyone tastes) or controller. So far there's still no one who exploring the mechanism very deeply and just touching the surface of the mechanism movement itself.
Will you interested on this? If so, I would gladly and more than happy to wait for the results.
Apex mobile is really not my thing, even with a controller.
I'm an mnk guy. Looks like you really love the mobile version and it sucks that there is noone exploring new stuff, I'm sorry...
@@thevilnside Nah, it's alright. I don't have PC, so apex coming to mobile was quite a surprise for me. :)
Anyway, thanks for replying and keep the good work bud. 👍
Thanks💙💙💙
This is awesome!! You are so cool dude
Can i try this with the Zipline in the firing range or is it building specific?
It's much better when it's done in zip buildings of World's Edge. Because it requires getting used to the hitbox ranges of ziplines. How close you should be to the zip changes from building to building.
Nice, somthing that makes my high sens in controller useful
well made video man!
Crazy good guide, thanks man
Ayo bruh where new vids at btw ily man hope your havin a great 2023 so far
Nice vid! How do u have install that mod of the strange heirlooms? Ty in advance
It's called R5 Reloaded Modded Apex. Look up "Skeptation" on YT I believe he has an updated guide video for installation.
"if they rely on audio in Apex legends, which is a big mistake" true story 🤣
Very good tutorial, I've been playing for a year now and I'm very bad and I'm tired of people who move like schizophrenics so I want to move like that too. But one question, how can I enter a solo game like you do in the video to be able to practice?
It's called R5 Reloaded Modded Apex, available on PC. Skeptation has an updated installation guide on his YT channel.
@@thevilnside Thank you very much, I will go to install it.
After watching this i realized how far i still was, to become really good at this game! But thanks for sharing!
I’ve been using this technique subconsciously for a long time - really interesting to know how and when to use it perfectly. Thanks!!
Man the vid was so good, didnt even notice that knife lmao
this seems more effective than mantle jumping nice vid
you can hit 3 jumps on a normal vertical zipline if your far from it and there is nothing around it
THE LEGEND LETS GOOOOOO
absolutely amazing
Wait thats why taxi get that jump off of streamer zipline into the door
just wanna ask, is is there still ability to catch a crypto's drone with pf and fly away?
how do you get full hight fatigue wallbounces right out of the ghost jump? mine all seem to be lamo bounces
ed. nvm im dumb. Just trying to hit it right after jumping off the zip now which is harder than you make it look lol
I can suggest not getting close to the zipline too much. Because if we get close to the zip too much and then interact by looking all the way down, we will be grabbing the zipline from so much more below than we should.
This is a problem because the spot we interact on the zipline and the spot we want to wall bounce have to be on around the same height.
@@thevilnside ahh. Do I need to touch the ground after I jump off the zip before I can ghost jump?
@@Fingle if you want to tap strafe afterwards, then the answer is yes.
@@thevilnside bro I cannot get this to work after jumping off the zip. The only time It seems to work for me is when I crouch off and ghost jump from the ground. Mid air ghost jumps just dont work for some reason.
Maybe you're jumping off the zip when you have so much speed on zip, instead of zipline dancing? That would make you leave the zipline hitbox very quickly, preventing you from interacting the zip.
Also, which building were u trying in?
Btw if you share a video in Mokeysniper's discord I'll make sure you'll get helped
Your settings look clean, could you maybe show your settings in a video`?
If you mean the video settings, just everything low or disabled if possible. 1680x1050 and TSAA on for my liking.
daaaaaaaaaawn broooooo that is INCREDIBLEEEEEEEEEEEE
Let's goooooo! Movement tech I can do on my PS5 🤣 very nice video. Very well explained 😊 thank you.

And I'm wondering how to install r5reloaded apex with new world's edge.
Thanks!
You can look up "Skeptation" on YT, he has an updated video for installation. It's the S3 World's Edge
@@thevilnside ❤️
@@thevilnside OOOooo I figured out I was in the wrong building LMAO.still thanks a lot.
Do you think R5reloaded is a good way to practice movment?
It's the best way to practice _raw_ movement and develope strats such as creating healing routes, finding spots to use movement techs more efficiently, memorizing the map.
But to improve at using movement in fights, doing 1v1s in either firing range or in R5 is the best. Or simply play in one of the R5 Reloaded Servers with other people. Though it might be super annoying since Zip Spamming is not nerfed in S3, people are just being monkey on zipline and it takes no skill to do imo.
this is great, definitely gonna learn this tech
What sens and dpi are you at? 1600 at 1.0 is hard to look all the way up and down, should I work on increasing?
1400 1.1 here.
Yours is higher than mine. U just gotta get used to it.
1600 and 1.0 is very high, mine is 1650 and 1.1, and mine is very high sens, your on the high end of sens, if anything, it should be easier
@@jasonlimweizen Heh! I'm 5000 at 1.0, 1650 at 1.1 is relatively glacial to me! 😀 And I used to run higher.
@@jasonhurdlow6607 u psycho man
Thank god for subtitles I had a hard time understanding him
i owe so much to you man
I just went to Harvard of Apex Legends thanks for the class professor
is there a way to practice only fragment like you?
at 0:20, can you explain what you did? Did you just look up interact jump off zip? When i try that i keep hitting my head or it just sends me to the next floor.
Jump>Interact>Jump (while looking up)
I Jumped with Scrollwheel and hold the Interaction Key.
If you hit your head or it launches you to the next floor, then it means either you get too close to the zipline or you don't do the inputs fast enough.
Are you on mnk or controller?
@@thevilnsideI am on mnk. Okay, thank you i got it. The problem was that i was tapping my interact instead of holding it, so i kept missing it since the timing is like a fraction of a second. Now i might be stupid but i don't even have to jump, i just do interact>jump after looking down, even without jumping i can interact with the zip, like in 5:17 or 4:33, like i don't need to jump, i just to interact jump, then tap strafe if i want to. I tried it with jump, and it doesn't increase the range of when you can interact, like there is only a small area in front of the zip where you can re-interact again, and jump and no jump, the distance from the area to the zip is the same. For me, the jump wasn't needed to interact, but looking down or up seems to work, like as soon as i can see the zip while looking up or down, it works. Am i tripping? Thoughts?
@@jasonlimweizen Are you doing Interact>Scrolljump ,
or
Interact>Spacebar
?
EDIT: If you're doing Interact>Scrolljump and you're able to tap strafe afterwards, then it means you're SuperJumping instead of GhostJumping. And after the SuperJump you hit your head to the wall above you. After hitting your head, the vertical speed of your SuperJump is gone and only the horizontal speed of it is left.
Ofc it can be done by SuperJumping and purposely hitting our head. But it requires getting too close to the zipline.(most effectively by sliding in, while looking down) But if you don't get too close to the zip, then you would basically have to do an Elite Jump with this input order : _Interact>180Turn>Scrolljump._
But this input order is much harder than Ghost Jumping. Ghost Jumping allows us to do the same thing but with this order : _180Turn>Jump>Interact>Scrolljump_ . Doing the _180Turn_ at start makes everything so much easier.
the goat blesses us again with his knowledge
You are the godfather ❤️
that's amazing, I didn't know about this channel until now, great demonstration, subbed.
Is there a way to super ghost jump? I've seen faide do these kind of ghost jumps but he goes super jump height so he can tap strafe out of it to the roof of the zip shaft.
Thanks. but i have one more question. How can I play alone on worlds edge like in the video?
It's R5 Reloaded Modded Apex. Available on PC. Skeptation has an updated installation guide on YT.

great you gave Faid a new toy to play with lol
I noticed that sometimes when you do a ghost jump you get a super jump where as other times it's just a zipline jump. Have any consistent ways to do a super jump from a ghost jump been found?
Hi, like I said in the video; Ghost Jumping requires to be in the air. So what you say is impossible. Because we can't Super Jump while in the air.
None of the ghost interactions I've done in this guide was a Super Jump. They're just, Ghost Jumps, completely an another movement tech that allows you to interact a zipline while in the air and lets you tap strafe as long as you do it from the ground. This also means my ghost interactions don't end up as normal zipline jumping because we can't tap strafe after a normal zipline jump.
Maybe what confused you was the height difference I had between grabbing the zip from below and higher. Because looking down makes you grab the zip from lower and looking up makes you interact it from a higher point.
@@thevilnside let's say you jump towards the zipline, and press interact + jump... isn't that just a normal zipline jump since you'll be in the air while you're jumping towards the zipline. "Imagine" doing it on the lower floors to get a better picture of what I mean
@@thevilnside No I have personal experience getting a ghost super jump but it's been inconsistent so idk exactly how to do it, every time it's happened to me I've been sliding towards a zip shaft as I did a ghost jump if you'd like to experiment with it yourself
@@Blck-Cat That happens when you slide towards a shaft then interact first, then do the jump inputs. Which is called Elite Jumping. The reason sliding causes it to happen is that when we slide towards the shaft, we're getting close to the shaft very fast. Getting too close to the zipline means that when we look all the way down, we don't even have to jump anymore to be able to see the interact prompt. So, just because the prompt is already being visible even before our jump input, it sometimes ends up with a super jump.
_As a solution; do the ghost jump at the right spot before getting too close to the zip, and you should be okay._
i had trouble too at the beginning, i don't know the exact reasoning behind it, but when you do the ghost jump, like coming out of a zip jump, there is a sweet spot, and it's not like superglide, but if you hit the ghost jump at the sweet spot, you get the full jump, instead of like a baby jump, it's just timing and honestly, it's pretty intuitive once you get it, it's one of those things when you get it, you get it
