    The majority of Victory owners I run into at meets or at truck stops and gas stations are former HD owners, and I never hear any of them complaining about the V. I might swich back to HD, as I still love the Rd King Classic, but I'd first give both Indian and Victory a solid look.

      I absolutely hate the design of Victory and especially Indian. I'm not a huge Harley guy either but I'd own one before either of those bikes.

    Why did u focus 100% on the HD when it was a comparison and the victory is the better bike?? One sided as hell! At least u where honest on the conclusion!

      It`s hard to say which bike is better, i believe it is pretty close but
      if we invest extra $6000 in the gunner?

    I was all about this bike and wanting to purchase one very soon (Softail Slim) but after watching this review and how the footboards drag in turns, now I'm not so sure! I love this bike but unless an adjustment can be made to correct this problem, I don't think I'll be buying it after all.

    • @PeterDad60
      @PeterDad60 9 років тому

      Are you a racer ? Try cruising along and the floor board will not hit but they will be much more comfortable than the foot pegs on the other bike in the test.

      Thank you PeterDad60, I ended up buying a 2012 Softail Deluxe after looking around and test riding a few. After sitting on the Softail Slim, it was just too low for me per say but I'm sure for other's it would feel more comfortable.

    • @harris8390
      @harris8390 9 років тому

      They make low profile floor boards that make it harder to scrape on turns. The deluxe is nice but i still think the Slim is the finest bike on harleys lineup at the moment

    • @RagingBad
      @RagingBad 9 років тому +1

      You don't have to be a "racer" to scrap the pegs, even at moderate leaning angles they were touching the road, that's a mayor design flaw, for so much money, what a piece of junk

    • @Boobtube.
      @Boobtube. 7 років тому

      Victory Gunner scrapes the pegs also.

  • @codename4777
    @codename4777 10 років тому

    I've thought Harley could make those floorboards with the ability to flex up (like dirt bike foot pegs), with some sort of ball-casters underneath them so they wouldn't scrape and maybe it could get achieve a better lean angle.

  • @hankstalica1922
    @hankstalica1922 7 років тому +1

    they say the HD grinds the floorboard down to nothing and you can't corner for shit, but it gets the nod in handling over the gunner? ooooooook....

    By the way the Hd did have improvemnts for 2015 so why compare a 2014 against a 2015 Victory? Sounds like an ad for Victory to me. I tried both and didnt like either of the two. When I bought my FXS i also looked at Vicory and Im definately satisfied with my HD and haven't had any problems with it. Ride safe.

    Why a two part video when part one was under 4 minutes? I dont loke either bikes but its Simple...remove the footboards since that was the main complaint and use regular pegs like on the gunner. The better tranny should be getting the win. Il need to see part two.

    I am not a hater of Harley, contrary to what you may think. I love the old Flatheads, Panheads, Shovelheads, and especially the EVOs, all the single cam H-Ds of yesteryear. I hate only the TWINKIES, junk with PLASTIC tensioners, and junk stock INA cam bearings, and the junk, inadequate oil pump and their pressed together, lightweight crankshafts........ unlike all the bolted together, single cam engine, crankshafts of the older bikes, and they used to use METAL GEAR drives for the oil pump and the single cam, on the big twins. You don't know anything about TWINKIES, it seems like.....just ask the TWINKIE owners, who have cratered their engines, cause they never knew about these flaws, till it was too late. H-D, is now going liquid cooling on the MOUNT RUSHMORE PROJECT, high end bikes, copying the Metric bikes.........and there 103 cid, engines run so hot, they need 2 radiators, outboard, and a heat shield on the rear cylinder, and a sensor to shut off the rear cylinder, at idle, so, the TWINKIE is idling with just the front cylinder firing........what kind of deal is that? Liquid cooling is anathema, to the Harley purists..........look up the word if you don't know what it means, pal. Harley is also in the clothing business, and they have factories in India, to make the entry level, street 500 and 700 liquid cooled, bikes, so, they are just another multi-national company, where profit over people is the bottom line, that is American business, 101, pal, not making a great product, anymore. Keep your little PLASTIC cam chain tensioners, I will keep riding bikes with real METAL GEAR DRIVES, to operate my cams not a silent chain, that can stretch and affect cam/valve timing..........you must be another weekend warrior or wannabe.......parking your TWINKIE in the garage, instead of riding.........that is why there are so many late model TWINKIES, for sale, with very low mileage on the odometer, they never get ridden, just so that a guy can say he is a real biker, cause he has his TWINKIE, in the garage, all polished up, with no bugs on the windshield.........so give me a break....pal.

    Now, you are talking like a reasonable man........a man with an open mind......to truth, and what you say is correct, all have one issue or another.......some more than others, though, some are systemic, year after year, decade after decade........and they never correct the design.........that is what I am referring to.........ride with pride........

    You are the trash talker, I am having a frank discussion about the flaws of the Twinkes, and you can take it or leave it, makes not difference to me. I am out to reach, the intelligent, hard working guy who wants to spend his money wisely and get the best machine for the money, and a reliable engine and drive train. Harley of today is the not the HARLEY of yesterday, plain and simple. Be an informed consumer, not a brand conscious, buyer, thinking HARLEY is the end all to end all.

  • @tomcata1467
    @tomcata1467 8 років тому +1

    Performance wise, there is no comparison, the Victory is the better, more reliable, power plant. The H-D, Twin Cam engine is a FATALLY FLAWED, DESIGN. Flywheels are pressed together, with nothing holding the two, halves together. The flywheel, assembly will quickly come out of true at the sprocket and pinion shaft ends, causing damage to the bushings and bearings of oil pump, and cam shafts as, the ends wobble out of true more and more with each revolution of the engine, until CASTASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE OCCURS.The Harley uses, PLASTIC, cam chain tensioner rubbing against the two silent chain METAL, drives. The tensioners were meant to wear out and the replacement cost is prohibitive, to say the least, plus, if neglected, and not periodically inspected for wear, they will fall apart and crater the oil pump and the crankcases and the barrels , or cylinder head, and cause CATASTROPHIC ENGINE FAILURE.The stock oil pump on the HD only puts out 3-8 psi of oil pressure at idle, and only 35 psi at cruising, speeds, causing extremely hot engine temperatures that can fry a biker's pant's legs. The Victory oil pump pressure at idle is more than HD at cruising speed.Not Good for engine life, as heat is an engines worst enemy.CAVEAT EMPTOR - LET THE BUYER BEWARE WITH HARLEY, TWIN CAM ENGINES.Buy an HD, XL1200 SPORTSTER INSTEAD, BASED ON THE EVO ENGINE DESIGN, RELIABLE, DEPENDABLE.

      I wouldnt say the design is flawed, I have an 09NightTrain with a stage one and no problems since new. I talked to Victory owners whole their bikes were in the shop and they are having issues also. It happens to all makes, even BMW, no issues yet with the BMW 1200 yet either. Its a matter of preferance, all the bikes these days are close in quality. Anyone that thinks differently needs to do their homework. Its like comparing ferrari and Lambourghini. Ride safe.

    • @tomcata1467
      @tomcata1467 8 років тому

      If I owned a TWINKIE, I would be saying the same thing you are saying , great, bike, not a problem, in the world with it. I wouldn't want to admit I made a mistake in buying a high heat output engine, with PLASTIC tensioners in critical components, either. I wouldn't admit that the flywheels are merely pressed together and will come out of true. I would be saying, I have put over 120k miles on my TWINKIE, and all I do is put fuel and change the oil and go. No heat related problems or a rear heat shield on the rear cylinder to keep the family jewels from frying, I would say, what cut off sensor to the rear cylinder at idle, to keep my legs from frying at idle? I don't blame you, as I would be saying exactly what you are saying. he, he, LOL. Who of us wants to admit we made a buying mistake on a bike? I don't know anybody, do you?

    • @draganm7823
      @draganm7823 8 років тому +1

      You wouldnt admit it because you are not a Man! Its a fact and you obviously cant accept it because you cant afford it..........period. I quite frankly dont care what you believe, because you obviously have no clue about my bike. By the same token why do you think I should believe you? Its people with your low mentality that doubt everything you are not able to afford. So keep enjoying your TWINKIE while I enjoy my HD, the cruiser that sells more than all other cruisers combined, worldwide. chew on that fact Twinkie boy. tomcata1467

    • @tomcata1467
      @tomcata1467 8 років тому

      +Dragan M Is that all you got? Insulting me, changes no facts about the DESIGN FLAWS of the TWINKIES. You are entitled to your opinion, just not your own facts. I don't care if you believe me or not. The TWINKIES are full of PLASTIC tensioners, in critical components, in ALL TWIN CAM engines. They sell the replacements parts for them at the HARLEY DEALERSHIP. That is a fact. I can give you the Part Numbers, if you like. Even the Primary side chain drive has a PLASTIC tensioner, which must be periodically replaced. PLASITIC, PLASTIC, PLASTIC. I guess, you own one and don't even know your own bike. You must be a guy that doesn't ride much. Just have a H-D TWINKIE to polish and ride 5 miles to the bar on the weekend. Another weekend warrior. Learn more about your own bike, my man.HARLEY ARE MADE IN INDIA TOO, DID YOU KNOW THAT? MADE IN INDIA.NOT JUST MADE IN MILWAUKEE.LOTS OF YOU TUBE VIDEOS POSTED BY HARLEY TWINKIE OWNERS WHO FINALLY POSTED VIDEOS ON THESE PROBLEMS, CAUSE THEY GOT FED UP WITH THEIR TWINKIE PROBLEMS.

Im sure down the road my HD will need repair but like I said so far no issues and looks like that hurts you. Oh well its a fact so, it is what it is. Ride safe. tomcata1467

    • @shisno314
      @shisno314 10 років тому +1

      I disagree. ABS is a great safety net for a road bike. Doesn't matter how big or small. But I would personally like an ABS that has the ability to be turned off. That way both types of riders (buyers) are happy. My victory doesn't have ABS and I've been searching the aftermarket for something that would work.

    • @matrox

    • @calebd90
      @calebd90 10 років тому

    • @boarder989
      @boarder989 10 років тому

      I don't really care what data shows there is no need for any type of rider assists people just need to leave things alone and not try to improve everything. At the very least they should leave all of this new tech optional to the buyer. I know I'll NEVER ride a bike with abs or any other rider assists and if I were to get a bike with it I'd just remove it myself.
