See. Really shows that when put in the right hands the mustang is a good car. Sadly there's a huge part of the fan base that have no idea what the hell they're doing
AmericanMuscle.com Although the 06 won fair and square due to breakage , you know the 14 has at least an 11.50 in her. REMATCH is in order, DOUBLE OR NOTHIN!!
@@jayjowers5530 I know this is an old comment but jumping the light at the drag strip doesn’t do anything to your time. It starts reading when you leave regardless of whether you leave early or 10 seconds later
wow , I'd say the 06 GT has invested around $25k with paint job, wheels, exhaust system, and the rest of the performance goodies. It looks nice though. Unique looking too.
Of course the 5.0 faster but the point of the video is 3v mustangs are awesome. like you really can built them up to run like a 5.0.. And the 3v only lost to the 5.0 by 1sec and some change
That 119 trap speed by the '06 proves it's making much more real world hp than the '14. I think a 75hp shot for the '14 and a Snow injection setup for the '06 would really even things out for both camps......
The 3V actually trapped 115 on the first pass, the 14 trapped 114. It dead hooked, the 3V spun on the last run which yields a higher trap. I bet the 14 will trap at least 117 with a good clean run.
Cory Cooper The '06 spun worse on the last run than on the 1st and still ran an 11.69???? It ran a 12.3@115 spinning the tires on the 1st run, so how could it spin the tires worse for it's higher trap yet run more than 1/2 a second faster????? I don't understand your logic bro...
05gtdriver IDK, you win. It seemed like it fell on its face the first run. You really can't see the car in the 12.3 run. But it def spins a little the last run. Good running car either way. The 14 could maybe add a boss IM, but not much more they can do. I bet it can go mid 11's as is though.
There are a lot of full weight 11+ GT's running mid 11's NA. I ran 12.15@115mph with a 1.8 60' and I think my time was slow. Should have been in the 11s with my mods. Mods were CAI, O/R H-pipe, mail order tune, 1pc DS, ,lower LCAs with relo brackets and 17" DRs. Would drop 2 tenths with a converter.
TeamEpsilonRacing, there will definitely be a Stage 4 on the 2014 GT, but it will be boosted and laying down big power. We wanted to see if we could make two similar performing cars out of a supercharged 05-09 GT 4.6L 3V going up against a full bolt-on modded 14 GT 5.0L! Hope this helps! -Chris
AmericanMuscle.com So no more all motor? I thought it was going to be an all motor Coyote to be a different build? Like a Heads and Cam kit and maybe meth? If I may humbly ask, why did you stray away from the all motor build? I myself was kind of curious to see if 500 RWHP was possible on an all motor 4v 5.0. (or at least close to 500)
AmericanMuscle.com Hey I'm very curious on how much all the parts for the 06 Project Grabber Boost cost. I have an 03 GT and got a few parts from you guys, but it is high on mileage and would be pointless to dump anymore money in it. I want an 05-09 GT and get similar mods that are on Grabber Boost, but if the cost is too radical I guess I'll just wait a bit longer for a 5.0.
Nathan Wilson Full bolt-ons with cams (on 91 or 93 octane) will put a 5.0 close to 500 rwhp without even using aftermarket heads or an E85 or race gas tune. (i've seen several different setups throw down 470-480 rwhp with cams & stock heads, both 5.0's and Boss 302's, some of which could've gained more power through little things like a throttle body or accel coils/plugs, smaller stuff like that)
I keep finding mixed information all over. I am curious about what the pros might say at AmericanMuscle.com. Would you ever install an upgraded throttle body without the plans of installing FI?
I got a 2008 GT Premium Auto for 16500, there are deals out there. I want to do the polished whipple. That would put the car around 530 with basic supporting mods. Id be very happy with that.
I LOVE this comparison test but wish you guys wouldn't prepare the cars identically. It is so hard to determine which car is which going down the track. I have a hard time determining which car won the drag race. That aside, I love all the power & suspension mods. Keep up the good work but put racing stripes on one of the cars (or something!)
So Mustang guys... Please explain to me why project BOB from CJ ponys went 11.90's with bolt on's and everyone else on UA-cam goes low 12's with cams, long tubes, manifold, throttle body, gears , cold air and a tune? Heck most blown 3v here are going 12's. The thing I see is CJ ponys did that most do not, is control arms and real slicks to get it off the line.
I have an 06 GT with 285 rear tires, 18" wheels, Flowmasters, cold air intake, bama tuner to 93 octane, upgraded rear tile lights. Not sure what else is worth doing.
3vs definitely aren't even close to as fast as Coyotes but they are still awesome, and I love mine. The 5.0 Coyote is just a much better and newer motor and is absolutely amazing for the value and power you can make out of it. The 3v was pretty quick in its heyday, and it still can be a decently quick car. I think the biggest problem is that 3vs are really hard to drive fast consistently. I don't know if it's the suspension or VCT or what, but they are more difficult to put down consistently fast launches and power with. In comparison, you don't see that kind of inconsistency with the NA 4vs as much.
I have a 00 gt with comp 270 cams, high compression pistons, ported and polished heads, an airaid intake, Bama race tune, and 4.56 gearing. It makes about 320 horsepower and runs 12.50s. Any suggestions that are inexpensive. I want to run all motor so I am not interested in any turbos.
amyschroll81 I have a 2005 GT that I'll be trading (only 9,000 miles right now)...but I also have a K code (aka Hipo) '65 fastback that I have spent a boatload of money on getting to OEM specs...I'll be keeping her.
Hey American muscle, I know this is old. But I know the vortech v3 does not come with that intercooler set up. It's either nonintercooled or the air to water aftercooler set up. I was wanting to know what piping and intercooler you used on it? I plan on getting a v3 for my full bolt on and cammed 06 and was going to go with non intercooled and do my own air to air. The piping looks like a paxton novi 2200 piping. I was planning on probably your mishmuoto intercooler but piping I'm not sure on yet or just a CX racing kit. But there intercoolers are restrictive which is a downer.
HEY!! can the 4.6 3v handle the boost of a small blower for long on stock block? I was thinking about the rousch m90 kit but don't wanna blow up my car and is the 5.0 really that much better than the 3v?

Oh yeah I guess that makes sense
Isn't that to much power for the 3v internals??? Did you build the bottom end without telling us???
Nope- completely stock bottom end. These things tend to be ok with around 500 wheel, anything considerably more after that is just rolling the dice. -Justin
So why didn't they put 3.73's or 4.10's Gears On The 06 ?!?!?!?!
+Juan Beltran On a boosted car with 4.10s they would run out of gear before the 1/4 ended
+Bill Davis that's completely false
Jon Groves 4.10s would require a 28inch tire to stay out of 5th gear.
+Bill Davis 34 inch actually
Aftermarket LCA relocation bracket broke?
what 2014 mustang had as far as mods ??? where can i find info about it ? i seen and read what was done to the 2006 GT but nothin on 2014
never mind ive found it , 2014 project coyote ;)
I'm guessing you spun an axle tube on the coyote.

AmericanMuscle.com in the next video, will you guys show in detail what happened?
That was awesome
Wanted to know what gears u guys have in the 06 and what size drag radials?
The manual GTs have 3.55 rear ends. V6 and Auto GTs are 3.31
You guys always use vortechs you should try a hellion kit sometime AmericanMuscle.com
Is there gonna be a rematch?
pmmaneille, I'm sure that the Project Coyote crew will fix the 14 GT and get back to the track to show us what they can really do! -Chris
Is that safe power on a stock motor? How much whp and wtq can the motor take
450hp on engine and 450 for torque on the 5 speed Tremec transmission
What do you guys do with these cars when you're done modding them? Can you give one of these to me?!!?! Thanks in advance for your kindness and generosity.
That shit scared me for a sec lol
What did grabber boost weigh
don't you have to upgrade internals if your going to run almost 10 psi?
Yes but also look at the dyno numbers. Anything over 450hp and 450 torque, you're asking for trouble with the 4.6L and 5 speed Tremec transmission
A girl who likes Mustang`s and know how to get her hands dirty... Stephanie Wood rocks!! jajajajaja

You guys should do a GT500 front end swap on this thing. The GT from end is so plain looking and not mean enough for the power.
To be honest, with how much they invested in the car, if they wanted a GT500 front end, they would've gotten a GT500.

Vortech makes a flash tuner that is included is some of their kits

Snapped driveshaft wouldn't make the wheel shift
Leszek K. I bet it was a twisted axle.
I know this vid is old and the coyote driver did good saving it but........ he did jump the light ngl
