As a bass player myself I’m a huge fan of Fams. His bass playing was so incredibly innovative and creative. Just beautiful. A god-given talent for sure. And way more than this. Fams was a peaceful and humble human being, and a brilliant arranger and producer with a very deep understanding of music. He made the foundation of Bob’s music for sure, and he really deserves credit for creating such a unique reggae sound. Luckily, I was fortunate to see him live several times, both with and without Bob Marley in front of him. Every time Fams made me speechless for several days after the shows. Rest in peace in Zion you bass God. 🙏🕯️🕊️☮️❤️💛💚 Thanks a lot for posting. 🙏
Bob the most celebrated, the most beloved reggae artist globally . His children & grandchildren pushing his legacy into future generations. What an outstanding super legend
It would be nice if you could make a little documentary on Flabba Holt and Fully Fullwood. These are also exceptionally talented bassists from Jamaica. My country (South Africa) has also produced a remarkable bass player, whose name is Bakithi Khumalo. Among other artists, he played for Paul Simon in his Graceland album.
Big up Reggae Gist. Keep it lit my brother. We need to know where wé are coming from. God bless these musical pioneers and selfless geniuses. Jah guide.👊💥
Nope, that's not true. Aston Barrett's "Family Man" nickname came about before he had any children of his own. He foresaw his role as a band leader and started to call himself "Family Man"
@reggaegistxtra_ng No problem, is through the respect I have for Scratch, bigger man to me, we are from the same parish. Even in his ancient days if I asked Scratch who played guitar on a track he would consider a moment and then answer. He bounced from studio to studio until he built the Ark, look at the great works - and within the realms he burned it down.

The Hippy Boys never recorded @ Black Ark because Black Ark did not exist. Early Wailers w/ Lee Perry were recorded at Randy's. Get it straight.
