They both were Deep and had messages for the multitudes. I was raised listening to them both so for me they were both genius in all the music they made, with that being said I get a message from each and they were both great at their Art so neither is better than the other but Both are Great.
Bob was greater... commercially, not afraid to say that. Peter was the exact opposite of the easy going island boy image of Bob and therefore had a different fan base, not as great as Bob but just as dedicated! There was room at the table for both of them and they got their fill...

Marleys impactful songs of freedom and social justice is such that the United nations honoured him with the peace medal of freedom. Marleys funeral in 1981 in Jamaica is the biggest ever of any celebrity on that island, an indicator of how respected he was as an artist and a human being both at home and abroad. His success was not handed to him freely. It is based on talent and hard work.
