I will watch any Scully/Garagiola game that pops up on UA-cam, start to finish. Just the best

It always bugged me on how close Vin Scully & Joe Garagiola stood next to each other when doing the pre-game 😆 Joe's head is practically on Vinny's shoulder, haha!

If I am not mistaken the Cubs only won 4 games in 1985 against the Cardinals. They just dominated the Cubs.

Wow! This one is great! NBC Game of the Week, too. Can't beat Vin Scully and Joe Garagiola. I watched the first few minutes until I can watch it all later and the piece on Pete Rose was really good. To 'Pink Houses' by John Mellencamp. If that doesn't give you chills you're not alive.

man.....what a bad start for Kepshire 😞 I definitely felt for him as almost every pitcher has that one game where nothing goes right.

Joe G mentions Cardinals' fans taking the train up to St Louis in his days. What a concept! How much fun would that have been!! Progress is nothing but a myth.

Do you have the Angels/Tigers GOW from 1984 where Reggie hit one outta Tiger Stadium?

Bill Macatee started out at NBC. I sure didn't know that.

Why was there a doubleheader at Olympic Stadium? Were doubleheaders at domed stadiums common then?
Never mind. I guess Olympic Stadium wasn't enclosed after all like I thought it was.

Maybe it was the just settled strike. There were five double headers in the AL that day because of the strike.

@@douglasclouatre165 Good point. I didn't remember any strike that year. But it lasted 2 days. And altered the rest of the schedule.

@@stevejohnson1577 When was the roof added? I've never seen any footage of old games with any sunlight on the field during a game.

@@stevejohnson1577 What is it used for now? Did any games ever get snowed out before the roof was added?

The roof was finally finished in 1987.
