- The Emergency Dept. at St Joseph’s Hospital in Toronto kicked out Latitia Montana for not wearing a mask at the hospital on the 4th of July. She tried to bring in her son for a potential broken finger but social media had some things to say about this.

I am glad they made her leave. I am an RN and people who refuse to wear masks are placing those around them in danger. Our job as nurses to protect our patients, as well as ourselves, from harm. She clearly poses a risk to others.

There are Karen's all over the world but the more entitled a population is, the great the concentration of Karens.
It's been seventy-four years since the end of WW2. Western cultures are working on their fifth generation of relative comfort, especially for their upper and middle class white citizens.
The sense of entitlement can be found in all the generations but is especially strong in The Me Generation(Baby Boomers) and in their offspring(Millennials). Those two generations also greatly outnumber Gen X and Gen Z so, just statistically, the odds are higher that any Karen you see out in the wild will be a member of those generations.
Any sociology students out there? A PhD thesis on this phenomenon would be an interesting read. For me, at least.

I'm in England, had to go to a hospital for blood tests a few days ago; there was a 'bouncer' on the door. I was wearing a mask and he told me where the hand sanitizer was - I had to use this before going further. I wouldn't have got passed the door without co-operating (which I had every intention of doing anyway).

Don't say the masks are completely ineffective, because until we find a stronger solution, masking, social distancing, and quarantining are the best options we have. As of Tomorrow (July 7), everyone in Toronto will be required to wear masks when within public buildings. I live and work in Hamilton. I'm hoping they make this the rule here too.

A broken finger is not an emergency. An medical emergency is described as, needing immediate care and attention to save life or limb. I have yet to hear of anyone dying from a broken finger.
She walked into the hospital claiming they denied service to provoke an EMTALA lawsuit... once she was stabilized service technically wasn’t denied at that point.
