This is a very impressive lyrical effort by Saki about a tragic figure from Japanese history, a warrior and poet who lost a battle and committed suicide. In the lyrics Saki makes reference to the death-poem he wrote before his suicide. Shamisen player Sho Asano and Noh vocalist Tsunao Yamai perform on "Enten"-very appropriate for a song with a historical theme. The historical episode has been made into a Noh drama, which is probably why Yamai was engaged. Saki worked with shamisen player Asano in her mixx days. They attended the same university at the same time but didn't know each other there.
This is their most underrated song imo, and one of my favorite songs from their second album🤘🏻🌸🤘🏻
Yeah, this song is incredible, I don't know why they didn't give it more relevance past year when they were promoting the album. Everyone loves it, sure a fan favorite.
Absolutely killer track!
Definitely my favorite off the album after "Adabana" I wish they would've done an official MV for this one, such an awesome track.
New album from Nemophila coming out next week!
I stupidly forgot just how great that song is. Love Enten.
The name aptly means "hot sun" or "blazing heat". They had two guest performers. The male singer is a Noh performer, Tsunao Yamai. Noh is the oldest Japanese theatrical form and he is from the oldest Noh school, Komparu. He likes to collab with other artists to keep Noh relevant. Noh in its current form dates from the 14th century but is based on older dance and musical forms that go back to the 7th century AD. The other is a shamisen player, Sho Asano. Amusingly. he and Saki attended the same university at the same time but did not know each other then.
God, i love this song! ❤
Enten is fantastic.
The riff was crazy
TAMU OF NEMOPHILA AND LADYBEARD "SAMURAI IN THE RAIN" LIVE. AND ALSO, THE MV OF NEMOPHILA COVERING "SAMURAI IN THE RAIN" LIVE. THIS IS TAMU'S SINGLE AND OF COURSE I PREFER SEEING LADYBEARD ON STAGE WITH HER.
