This is definitely a band on its way up. They released their first album a couple of weeks ago, and it's like bottled adrenaline. Plus, they have to be the happiest little metal beasts anywhere. You should certainly watch all of their original material, but don't skip all of the covers they've done. I guarantee you can't help but smile when you see how much fun they have in their covers. My favorite three bands right now are Lovebites, Nemophila, and Bandmaid. These tiny little Japanese women are putting most men to shame, and I love it!

Nemophila is one of my favorite bands. Ai Murata is a incredible drummer. Saki, and Hazuki are incredible guitarists. Saki is in Mary’s Blood( on hiatus) , Amihiru. Hazuki is also with Lisa X, was in Disqualia. Great song. Hypnosis is a great song. Raitei great. Life is a beautiful song, showcasing Mayus vocals clean.
This is the only music video that they have filmed outside so far, but they chose a pretty cool location for it. Mayu, the singer, is also a bit more reserved when she is not in a performance mode (in which you can see her swag) as you will see from some of their streams. Well, they are adorable. :-) and great musicians. You like guitar solos, which makes me think that you could also like Saki´s another band called Mary´s Blood, but there is no rush to get to it. She is the guitarist that was doing that "crazy sound" with a whammy bar in this song. The other guitarist´s name is Hazuki with her beautiful blueish Ibanez guitar (she is also in another band with a guitar-playing child prodigy Lisa-X). The drummer is Tamu, who is quite in demand as a session musician. And Haraguchi is a great bassist that can hold its own. They also made a Babymetal cover among other things. So I suppose you will get to know them a bit better in following weeks or months and I will be here for it. Nice day.

This is one of the bands to watch, no question. They are blowing up fast. They don't take themselves too seriously--they almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” Nemophil-a (some people mistakenly say “Nemophil-i-a) were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of: Mary's Blood guitarist Saki ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X) ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam (also does other projects) Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized Mayu with some help from Saki. They started off posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Saki as has been said plays in Mary's Blood, and is rock royalty. The two guitarists are as good as Midori and my girl Miyako, would love to see the two bands tour. Mayu is a force of nature on stage; her instagram is filled with clips of her pet Guinea pig. So funny. Definitely check out more by them. They have some live songs too, like Dissension shot at a festival earlier in the year. The colors I get what you say, but they fit this band. The band is always smiling on stage and are so happy to be playing, and their covers are so playful, the colors represent their personality well.
I love this song and this band! These ladies are just amazing. Their originals are metal but their covers range from pop to rock to metal and they do the best covers I have ever heard! I would recommend Raitei or Oiran, MV not live. They also do a great original ballad "Life". Life is sung to the drummer who had just returned from having a baby so they a bit emotional. They also celebrate Hazuki, guitarist with blue Ibenez, birthday in it. Mayu has a very versatile voice and the band can play anything they want. If you want more Nemophila, most folks will recommend Dissension (which may be their most popular song), but I would suggest Oiran particularly from the Naon Yaon 2021 "concert". The hairbanging is top notch.

Nemophila is up and coming, great band. I want them to tour with Band-Maid. It'll be the Japanese invasion we all need. Talking about orgasmic solos, go back to Band-Maid with Daydreaming. It's a hard ballad but the solo is one of the best. Also, Real Existence has a face melter.
A lot of people ask themselves why there's so much talent in all of those Japanese metal/rock bands. The thing about Japanese musicians or people in general is: They work like crazy to be as close as perfect as it gets at stuff they want/have to do. Leisure time is wasted time in Japanese culture. At least that is what is expected. That's also why so many people in Japan shut themselves off from society, because they can't take the pressure/workload. It's slowly changing (overtime regulations and stuff), but they're still pretty far away from what we "westerners" consider normal work/school hours. A normal school day for a high school student is probably 10h - 14h on average when you count school itself, club activities after and studying at night. And it doesn't get any less when you start work. Combine this with the fact that most musicians start out at age 3 - 6 learning a more classical instrument (or singing and dancing) and you get the picture why there's so much talent in these bands.

There are two videos for your preference: Dissension - dark location with point lights, Mayu hair are shining in the dark. Metalcore-like sound Raitei - black and white style with highlighted blue parts of the outfits I like "fireball", although she changed color and "fireball" is inside with black hair outside. Perfect timing - 15.12 was the date of releasing the first album and it's available not only on Spotify but bands YT channel. JPU Records should have sell cd in January. Nemophila achieved 100k subscriptions having only 7 original songs on 3 singles released in Japan and collection of them in UK, also playing lives in internet with more original music. Now they are back to playing with the audience in serious venue, Shibuya Line Cube, 9.01.2022.

All their original songs are great. And their covers are so insanely good and accurate to the originals. These ladies are insanely good. For original song I Suggest either Raitei or Life. Their covers, they are all good. Two are kinda silly, but fun.

NEMOPHILA is my only other soundtrack of my life 'provider' besides Nightwish. Likewise, their songs are very diverse, some with mix of genre which are unfamiliar at first, but not unpleasant and as a whole, it fits nicely. NEMOPHILA is 5 veteran musicians in Japanese rock/metal scene who have mastered their arts over the years with decades of experience between them collectively. When NEMOPHILA first appeared on the scene, with both Japanese metal guitar goddess (BEEAST Goddess Award, Best Guitarist, 2015) and drums goddess (BEEAST Goddess Award, Best Drummer, 2015 & 2017) are among the line ups as the founding member, they know this band is not messing around. SAKI the guitarist probably steals the spotlight since she is the most celebrated metal guitarist in Japan, also a member of Marry's Blood and co-founder (with Frédéric Leclercq of Kreator) of AMAHIRU. She celebrated her 10 years anniversary since professional debut in 2020 and to commemorate that milestone, Killer guitar (her endorser) released KG-Fascinator Seven The Empress, which is her 7 strings signature model. Her partner, Ibanez endorsed Hazuki, is also on 7 strings with RG j.custom and Prestige. Their sounds are heavy with extra strings and the bassist Haraguchi-san also got extra strings on her Sadowsky RV5. The drummer Murata Tamu is the most veteran among them and had been rocking the scene on the background of many successful artist/events since she was around 17 years old. She is one of the best session drummer in Japan with tremendous work rate covering various genres of music. She have had 6 successful solo live concerts under her belt before NEMOPHILA and the milestone was her 5th live concert held in 2018 as a celebration for her entering 10 years of professional drumming. REVIVE lyrics are written by Mayu with only two lines in Japanese. She is happy with the lyric since she can smile too while singing the chorus. Oh yes, NEMOPHILA smiles a lot and is fun to watch outside music video, especially Haraguchi-san with her laugh and smiles alongside Tamu. Their reputation as individual is massive and as a band, they are insanely tight but they haven’t forgotten what’s most important, to have fun. And when they headbang, they headbang... well, after Hazuki took off her glasses of course 😅. After all, its them who.wanted "Mayu Sesion" band (the origin of NEMOPHILA) to stay intact so that they could have fun playing music they like together with friends they love. 🤘🏻
Great song and great band to start or end the new year, ok both :) Nemophila is the hottest band on the planet that not many know about. I think I said that in one previous post. Mayu does a vocal fry as some would call it, completely different technique than what Jinjer does; however, I still think Mayu is currently the best in the business. She can do various cleans too, jazz, rock even rap and yep, she is the cutest badass hottie for sure. Recently married though. In person she is very conservative and calm. You cannot not fall in love with her. Started following them maybe a week after they posted their first two MV's and I have watched 6 of their live streams and will watch another one on Jan 9th 2022, this one with live audience! Can't wait! Saki (first solo, vocal harmonies) is my third favourite guitarist, right after, of course, Miyako and Midori. If you compare their technical abilities then Saki = Midori as both are of the best shredders, whereas Hazuki = Miyako. They even have same tapping technique. Tamu is a beast on drums and she did few songs pregnant, twice! She is my second fav after Haruna. And then you have the always smiling Haraguchi on bass. Such a great bassist, shes right after Misa, Miho and Tomomi (Scandal) in my books. Nemophila did a lot of covers and they are all awesome, including Nickleback and Minions Song. Yes, you read it ... Nickleback. Hazuki likes them, so why not. They are my second favourite band just slightly ahead of Band-Maid (which I never thought would be possible) and Scandal who are third and fourth. Yes Lovebites is/are first.

EDIT: Comparing Mayu to Tatyana is impossible. It starts with Mayu screaming and Tatyana growling. In my amateur opinion, they are completely different.
The pandemic has bought us two good things - Nemophila and Hanabie. Both released debut albums this year and both made 2021 just about bearable. Nemophila have a diverse catalogue already, from Dissension to Life with Oiran (live at Naon Yaon is the must see version) being a sublime debut single somewhere in the middle. Hanabie’s album “Girl’s Reform Manifest” is my favorite album just above Nemophila’s Revive because it’s even more in your face and innovative, and written by the band. Check out “We Love Sweets” for a taste of the madness.
I did not go through all the comments, so sorry if I repeat something. 1. There is a nice making-of which i.a. explains, that the vid. was shot on an observation platform in the south-east corner of the Tokyo bay. When the weather is clear one can see Japan's holy Mount Fuji on the other side of the bay. It was a very sunny day, but also pretty cold and windy, as the following day a typhoon storm hit the coast. 2. There are five play-throughs showing each musician individually while the song is played in the background. Nice extra. 3. Running Mayu with the red hair reminds me of the classic German experimental film "Lola rennt" (in the US market "Run Lola Run") by Tom Tykwer (trailer and reactions on YT). Manni lost 100,000 Deutschmark which he had to bring to a gang of criminals. He has 20 minutes to get the money back or he will be killed. His girl friend Lola (with the red hair) runs through Berlin to save his life. Three times her run starts in her apartment, but three times the result is totally different according to coincidences such as stumbling and loosing ten seconds or decisions she makes on her way.

Glad you finally found Nemophila! Lovebites are still my #1 (and like you, Midori!), but Nemophila and Band-Maid are practically interchangeable as my #2. And I don't mean just among Japanese bands, I mean worldwide! I grew up on the likes of Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, etc., but Japan has hooked me, and I haven't looked back since! If you want a little bit different flavor, even for Nemophila, I strongly suggest their latest song "Hypnosis!" It is one of the few composed by the bassist Haraguchi-san (my Nemo-crush, lol), with lyrics written by guitarist Hazuki. In the meantime, I'll see you back over in the Lovebites FB group! You pronounced the name properly at the beginning. I've been aware of Nemophila for a little while now but only recently became a fan of theirs. They do a lot of great covers, my favorite being "Megitsune" by Babymetal, and I like their originals, especially "Hypnosis." I'm hardly the expert on Japanese geography, but this video reminds me of Miho Rosana's instagram posts from Okinawa.

There are female vocalists in Japan that do what Tatiana does where they use the low growls instead of the high screams like Mayu. 2 of the best are Yukina from Hanabie and Yuna previously of PassCode now retired. Emily who replaced Yuna is good but not as good as Yuna was yet. Hanabie is a metalcore band and PassCode is a electronicore band. For Hanabie I would recommend doing We Love Sweets and for PassCode I recommend doing Taking You Out and I would recommend the MV for both.

"Dissension" will blow you away....heavily produced of course - but I was amazed to hear the live version - superb!!!! I didn't expect Mayu to pull off that vocal so well live - but she did!!

They don't take themselves too seriously--they almost seem to be enjoying a private joke, that goes "Hi, we're a bunch of cute, fun girls and we are going to rip your face off, and you are going to like it.” Nemophil-a (some people mistakenly say “Nemophil-i-a) were founded in 2019. They are a supergroup composed of:
Mary's Blood guitarist Saki
ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu
ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki (also plays with Lisa-X)
ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and
ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam (also does other projects)
Initially, they were just a side project, co-organized Mayu with some help from Saki. They started off posting metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs. Then they began posting originals, starting with “Oiran” ua-cam.com/video/eyb2NtPwcxc/v-deo.html
The viral reaction seems to have convinced them they were onto something potentially big, so they’ve been putting a lot more work into it, including some successful live-streams and an appearance at the annual Japanese female rock festival NAONのYAON. They tend toward hard and heavy, but also do ballads and some pop covers. Saki is the only one who had been with a breakout band before (Mary’s Blood); Hazuki and Murata-tamu are also considered elite musicians and have worked with a lot of other top artists. Hara-san is the youngest but is clearly a great talent and has been developing in front of our eyes. And of course Mayu is quickly establishing herself as a one of the world’s best metal vocalists.

Mayu is a force of nature on stage; her instagram is filled with clips of her pet Guinea pig. So funny. Definitely check out more by them. They have some live songs too, like Dissension shot at a festival earlier in the year.
The colors I get what you say, but they fit this band. The band is always smiling on stage and are so happy to be playing, and their covers are so playful, the colors represent their personality well.

I love this song and this band! These ladies are just amazing. Their originals are metal but their covers range from pop to rock to metal and they do the best covers I have ever heard! I would recommend Raitei or Oiran, MV not live. They also do a great original ballad "Life". Life is sung to the drummer who had just returned from having a baby so they a bit emotional. They also celebrate Hazuki, guitarist with blue Ibenez, birthday in it. Mayu has a very versatile voice and the band can play anything they want. If you want more Nemophila, most folks will recommend Dissension (which may be their most popular song), but I would suggest Oiran particularly from the Naon Yaon 2021 "concert". The hairbanging is top notch.
The band has only been a thing for 2 years, but all the have 5+ years and are all well respected musicians in Japan

Nemophila is up and coming, great band. I want them to tour with Band-Maid. It'll be the Japanese invasion we all need. Talking about orgasmic solos, go back to Band-Maid with Daydreaming. It's a hard ballad but the solo is one of the best. Also, Real Existence has a face melter.
A lot of people ask themselves why there's so much talent in all of those Japanese metal/rock bands. The thing about Japanese musicians or people in general is: They work like crazy to be as close as perfect as it gets at stuff they want/have to do. Leisure time is wasted time in Japanese culture. At least that is what is expected. That's also why so many people in Japan shut themselves off from society, because they can't take the pressure/workload. It's slowly changing (overtime regulations and stuff), but they're still pretty far away from what we "westerners" consider normal work/school hours. A normal school day for a high school student is probably 10h - 14h on average when you count school itself, club activities after and studying at night. And it doesn't get any less when you start work. Combine this with the fact that most musicians start out at age 3 - 6 learning a more classical instrument (or singing and dancing) and you get the picture why there's so much talent in these bands.

Nemophila achieved 100k subscriptions having only 7 original songs on 3 singles released in Japan and collection of them in UK, also playing lives in internet with more original music. Now they are back to playing with the audience in serious venue, Shibuya Line Cube, 9.01.2022.

NEMOPHILA is my only other soundtrack of my life 'provider' besides Nightwish. Likewise, their songs are very diverse, some with mix of genre which are unfamiliar at first, but not unpleasant and as a whole, it fits nicely.
NEMOPHILA is 5 veteran musicians in Japanese rock/metal scene who have mastered their arts over the years with decades of experience between them collectively. When NEMOPHILA first appeared on the scene, with both Japanese metal guitar goddess (BEEAST Goddess Award, Best Guitarist, 2015) and drums goddess (BEEAST Goddess Award, Best Drummer, 2015 & 2017) are among the line ups as the founding member, they know this band is not messing around.
SAKI the guitarist probably steals the spotlight since she is the most celebrated metal guitarist in Japan, also a member of Marry's Blood and co-founder (with Frédéric Leclercq of Kreator) of AMAHIRU. She celebrated her 10 years anniversary since professional debut in 2020 and to commemorate that milestone, Killer guitar (her endorser) released KG-Fascinator Seven The Empress, which is her 7 strings signature model. Her partner, Ibanez endorsed Hazuki, is also on 7 strings with RG j.custom and Prestige. Their sounds are heavy with extra strings and the bassist Haraguchi-san also got extra strings on her Sadowsky RV5.
The drummer Murata Tamu is the most veteran among them and had been rocking the scene on the background of many successful artist/events since she was around 17 years old. She is one of the best session drummer in Japan with tremendous work rate covering various genres of music. She have had 6 successful solo live concerts under her belt before NEMOPHILA and the milestone was her 5th live concert held in 2018 as a celebration for her entering 10 years of professional drumming.
REVIVE lyrics are written by Mayu with only two lines in Japanese. She is happy with the lyric since she can smile too while singing the chorus. Oh yes, NEMOPHILA smiles a lot and is fun to watch outside music video, especially Haraguchi-san with her laugh and smiles alongside Tamu. Their reputation as individual is massive and as a band, they are insanely tight but they haven’t forgotten what’s most important, to have fun. And when they headbang, they headbang... well, after Hazuki took off her glasses of course 😅. After all, its them who.wanted "Mayu Sesion" band (the origin of NEMOPHILA) to stay intact so that they could have fun playing music they like together with friends they love. 🤘🏻

Great song and great band to start or end the new year, ok both :) Nemophila is the hottest band on the planet that not many know about. I think I said that in one previous post.
Mayu does a vocal fry as some would call it, completely different technique than what Jinjer does; however, I still think Mayu is currently the best in the business. She can do various cleans too, jazz, rock even rap and yep, she is the cutest badass hottie for sure. Recently married though. In person she is very conservative and calm. You cannot not fall in love with her.
Started following them maybe a week after they posted their first two MV's and I have watched 6 of their live streams and will watch another one on Jan 9th 2022, this one with live audience! Can't wait!
Saki (first solo, vocal harmonies) is my third favourite guitarist, right after, of course, Miyako and Midori.
If you compare their technical abilities then Saki = Midori as both are of the best shredders, whereas Hazuki = Miyako. They even have same tapping technique.
Tamu is a beast on drums and she did few songs pregnant, twice! She is my second fav after Haruna.
And then you have the always smiling Haraguchi on bass. Such a great bassist, shes right after Misa, Miho and Tomomi (Scandal) in my books.
Nemophila did a lot of covers and they are all awesome, including Nickleback and Minions Song. Yes, you read it ... Nickleback. Hazuki likes them, so why not.
They are my second favourite band just slightly ahead of Band-Maid (which I never thought would be possible) and Scandal who are third and fourth. Yes Lovebites is/are first.
Late to this one looks like every one has filled you in all i can say is there the real deal all virtuoso and they go hard live laugh a lot and head bang there heads of hair going always please do more Mayu the singer can mould her voice any way she likes and the two guitarists play 7 strings with bass on a 5 string DR one of the best in the world the talent off the scale .

In my amateur opinion, they are completely different.
I think you can compare her screams with Lena Scissorhands from Infected Rain, she is one of my favourite female vocalists.

The pandemic has bought us two good things - Nemophila and Hanabie. Both released debut albums this year and both made 2021 just about bearable. Nemophila have a diverse catalogue already, from Dissension to Life with Oiran (live at Naon Yaon is the must see version) being a sublime debut single somewhere in the middle.
Hanabie’s album “Girl’s Reform Manifest” is my favorite album just above Nemophila’s Revive because it’s even more in your face and innovative, and written by the band. Check out “We Love Sweets” for a taste of the madness.
I did not go through all the comments, so sorry if I repeat something.
1. There is a nice making-of which i.a. explains, that the vid. was shot on an observation platform in the south-east corner of the Tokyo bay. When the weather is clear one can see Japan's holy Mount Fuji on the other side of the bay. It was a very sunny day, but also pretty cold and windy, as the following day a typhoon storm hit the coast.
2. There are five play-throughs showing each musician individually while the song is played in the background. Nice extra.
3. Running Mayu with the red hair reminds me of the classic German experimental film "Lola rennt" (in the US market "Run Lola Run") by Tom Tykwer (trailer and reactions on YT). Manni lost 100,000 Deutschmark which he had to bring to a gang of criminals. He has 20 minutes to get the money back or he will be killed. His girl friend Lola (with the red hair) runs through Berlin to save his life. Three times her run starts in her apartment, but three times the result is totally different according to coincidences such as stumbling and loosing ten seconds or decisions she makes on her way.

Glad you finally found Nemophila! Lovebites are still my #1 (and like you, Midori!), but Nemophila and Band-Maid are practically interchangeable as my #2. And I don't mean just among Japanese bands, I mean worldwide! I grew up on the likes of Helloween, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Metallica, etc., but Japan has hooked me, and I haven't looked back since! If you want a little bit different flavor, even for Nemophila, I strongly suggest their latest song "Hypnosis!" It is one of the few composed by the bassist Haraguchi-san (my Nemo-crush, lol), with lyrics written by guitarist Hazuki. In the meantime, I'll see you back over in the Lovebites FB group!

You pronounced the name properly at the beginning. I've been aware of Nemophila for a little while now but only recently became a fan of theirs. They do a lot of great covers, my favorite being "Megitsune" by Babymetal, and I like their originals, especially "Hypnosis." I'm hardly the expert on Japanese geography, but this video reminds me of Miho Rosana's instagram posts from Okinawa.
This colourful outside sunny video is actually a bit of an departure for them so knowing the style you like ..

There are female vocalists in Japan that do what Tatiana does where they use the low growls instead of the high screams like Mayu. 2 of the best are Yukina from Hanabie and Yuna previously of PassCode now retired. Emily who replaced Yuna is good but not as good as Yuna was yet. Hanabie is a metalcore band and PassCode is a electronicore band. For Hanabie I would recommend doing We Love Sweets and for PassCode I recommend doing Taking You Out and I would recommend the MV for both.

"Dissension" will blow you away....heavily produced of course - but I was amazed to hear the live version - superb!!!! I didn't expect Mayu to pull off that vocal so well live - but she did!!
