- Canggu is one of the most popular places to stay in Bali and I can definitely see why. It does offer everything from being a surfers paradise, amazing restaurants, boutiques, co-working spaces, yoga studios and some great nightlife. A lot of digital nomads also live in this area because it really does over a lot of conveniences. But if you are coming here for the first time, there are a lot of things you should consider and also understand what the general prices are like so you don't risk getting ripped off. I use both of these companies depending on the destination and requirements of entry. If you are going to be abroad for a long time and/or don't need as much coverage, I would recommend SafetyWing. - Seminyak Beach (best for the hedonists)
- Melasti Beach (best for a scenic drive)
- Nusa Lembongan (best for day trippers)
- Jimbaran Beach (best for seafood sunsets)
- Amed Beach (best for diving & snorkeling)
- Sanur Beach (best for sunrise & cycling)
- Kuta Beach (best for all-things tourism)

On our trip to Bali, we were at Ubud Village, Tanah Lot & Denpasar. One of the most exotic holiday destinations. Thoroughly enjoyed it and will go again.

This was a really well researched and explained video on Bali. I especially enjoyed that you put the size of the Island and the time it can to get around in real world context. Your video was the first one I've seen that specifically highlighted this aspect. I'm not much of a beach goer, so the people I know who have been to Bali stressed the beach and bar scene only. Your video gives a much more nuanced view of what was actually available in the Canggu area. Looking forward to what else you show about this Island.
Yeah if you’re not a beach person than Ubud would definitely be a better choice for you. After spending a week here now I personally prefer it over Canggu even though I really enjoyed my time there.

This is so helpful! I want to go to Bali for years but due to the pandemic we couldn’t travel there. Now we just came back from Korea but our next long haul flight will be going to Bali so I’m doing some research where to stay and found that Canggu is probably the best and most convenient to us - especially after watching your video I will now look for Airbnbs there. Back in the late 80s only Kuta, Legian and (a little of) Seminyak were developped but it's just amazing how that part of the island has changed, sure it's crowded and traffic can be bad as you said but all these cafés and restaurants serving great food, yoga classes, etc are a good addition.
My wife and I have never been to Canggu even though we lived in Bali in the 90s and have returned ever since (shame on us😁) but your video certainly is a good publicity.

In Bali , it is a local policy to not build public transportation to give bigger opportunity for local people transportation.
But.... there is a plan for next year, to build high speed train accross the island however it is now subject to local communities agreement.
Hope it can be reality.
I've never been to Canggu. I'm saving this video for my future reference. So beautiful the way you captured it and I love egg benedict too and I'm convinced to try that in Canggu one day. It's good you can extend your visa in Bali instead of going so much hustle of having to go out to Singapore, spending flight ticket and hotel.

The people there are also so friendly and just partied hard for 10 days lol
try to UBUD , The city of Ubud, located in the central part of the island of Bali, Indonesia, is known as a center for traditional dances and crafts. The rainforests and rice terraces that surround the Ubud area, plus temples and shrines, are one of Bali's most famous landscapes. There are ancient sacred sites, namely Goa Gajah which has detailed carvings and Gunung Kawi, which is a place of worship carved from stone.

That is why for my month in Bali, I stayed in Kuta and Ubud. Not so many tourists use it but there are local buses in Bali. You can use it to get to the airport, to Kuta, Denpasar, Sanur, Jimbaran among others. You can use it to get closer to destinations like Uluwatu and Tanah Lot and just use a Grab or Gojek for the rest of the way to save some money. For anyone who is not pressed for time and who is afraid to ride on motorbikes for a very long distance, this could be an option. Use Google maps to know the bus you need to take

Not surprised your visa extension did go through - in this post COVID era, the tourism industry is still recovering from the enforced lockdowns over two years now so they’re happy to have tourists stay as long as they can by making minimal fuss for them. That wouldn’t have been likely five years ago but that revenue is critically needed and places like Canggu benefit from it. They really do their part to help you sell Bali to prospective visitors who might be interested in checking it out.
