Interesting channel. I have a handcrank WW2 air raid siren mounted on my kids wooden playset in the back yard. Gotta love sirens..we have a small airport 2 miles from us..that fly old vintage airplanes...so it really is fun.
Did you know Sentry opted to discontinue defenders back in 2011 because they were very vulnerable to corrosion and they were poorly designed? One reason why is because the teeth on the gears and the rotator would get filed down due to friction. One of the first defenders ever made was installed in Tuttle, Oklahoma but they had to remove it because they were upgrading their system but I feel like they should've left that one up because it's kind of historical ya know? The first one from Tuttle is now in private posession. And Defenders were Sentry's ONLY rotational sirens. After that they decided omnidirectional sirens were the superior option.
if anybody wants a really nice up close shot to a thunder bolt, go to berlin wi, if need to, contact me and ill show you it, testing done on saturdays at noon
Wow I've been a siren enthusiast for almost two years and I've never heard of this really amazing
I believe this is Sentry's fire signal timing. Great video!
It’s a rip off asc
@@TheJakeman789 it’s not, it’s a completely unique design.
Good to see another one of these exists

RARE! Good to see these get tested
Wow that looks incredibly clean!!
Fantastic video! Oregon has the coolest systems.
Amazing! Finally a good video of one of these.
wow
i never knew defenders with square backs existed
HEYYY FINALLY SOMEONE RECORDED THESE! RPIC VIDEO
Now everyone will forget that the Argos Defender even existed
This is truly biblical! Awesome Video!
Beautiful 😍
Wow, just wow.
Woah amazing video!
Why do they stop rotating me then continue rotating? It makes no sense to me!
True
Didn't even know this version of the Defender existed.
The fact it did attack too.
Squarebacks are actually the generation 2s, they have a better rotator and the square boxes were easier to make
Amazing video but wtf is that attack timing?
15/10 fire signal.
Sounds like a 3t22 and a ACA hurricane mixed with a sentry
i started having a bit of a interest in sirens and this one is neat
AWESOME
2001 siren + sentry = sentry defender
69th like:)
Awesome video, didn’t know these still existed!
rumors went around that these wwrw removed but im glad it was just for refurbishment!!
Do they still make defenders
No
@@Glist_ why
@@Wavyguyboi Probably because they were poorly-designed and didn't sell well.
@@Glist_ what part was badly made
@@Wavyguyboi who knows
Nice! So this is where the North Bend siren went to. Does the diaphone in Coos Bay still work?
North Bend still has a Defender. Both of them are connected to the same system and have been refurbished.
Diaphone does work still
WOAH!!!!!
Why did Sentry stop selling these
was discontinued due to not enough purchases.
on the northwest map, it says ews-11
The Defenders in this system were sold through Edwards Warning Systems. Edwards sells rebranded Sentry sirens.
@@DJ2226Like W.S. Darley
508 on a diet rebranded by sentry
Fire signal.not the standard attack.nice vid
Woah
The Square backed model of this siren would of sold better then the rounded back model
Debatable
I thought it was a 2001 a moment
Lol
yeah or test the sirens every 1st Wednesday of the moth
Sterling be like:
WTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAF
A sentry defender square back is rare
Now quote me here but defenders are rare enough lol
