I recently purchased this scope for my .22LR, people call me crazy but I actually think it has "clearer" optics than my Nightforce SHV. The only downside for me is that they don't have screw on flip caps like Nightforce, it kind of looks tacky when I pull it out at the range next to a nice clean Nightforce optic. I'd sit here arguing all day that it's hands down the best bang for buck scope under $1500 on the market atm.
Ignore all the negative scope snobs about the Vortex Strike Eagle. It is a fantastic scope for the money. I took the chance on buying the 5-25x56, absolutely zero regrets.
For the most part, Vortex enthusiastically honors its Unlimited lifetime warranty. As far as you can tell, is Athlon the same at honoring its warranty?
I use mine out to a mile on my 308. My nightforce atacrs are marginally better scopes but at 4x the price of the strike eagle. I find the reticule a bit noisy at longer distance when zoomed in and trying to spot shots. Still it’s a great scope.
I personally have given up on Vortex. Bought my first Athlon and wow! Less money and makes my Viper PST look like a 1980's Tasco 🤣🤣 Don't waste your money guys! Other companies have the same warranty but at least your scope isn't always sent in for warranty like Vortex
@@Womfat I haven't been able to find your video review of the Athlon Ares ETR. If exists, appreciate you post the link here. What about the Athlon made you switch to it? Thanks
@womfat Is that a Vudoo I see in the background??
Yep, you bet, good eye! It's on loan so I can check it out.
@@Womfat I have one myself in an MPA chassis. Great rifle, excited to hear what you have to say about it.

Thank you for your videos. They have been helping me get into the game.
Glad to hear that!
Engagement comment. Great videos.

@@D70340 I got the Arken EP5 5-25 x 56. Im really impressed with this scope!
Hey man , can you send me the link where you bought the flip covers from. Thanks :)

I’ve never had to use either warranty for a scope, so I can’t speak of that.
What is your go to scope? This one is priced so so, and it is not as expensive like lets say a Nightforce or a Smith & Bender.
Greetings,
Jeff
Thanks for the review. I still prefer the PST gen2.
What happened to you strike eagle vs dimond back tactical review ?
Great Video Review Matthew.
Great glass on the SE but I had 2 I had to return. Gave up. Went with Primary Arms GLX 6-24 FFP MIL/MIL as is had great options for rapid engagements
What was wrong with them?
Thank for video.
Question for you. Is that the MDT medium rings on your Vudoo and Strike Eagle? I’m trying to figure out what height rings to get?
I'm running medium rings on my Vudoo
@@Womfat MDT medium rings? They’re an 1” right?
@@quikcolin Yep, MDT 1"
@@Womfat looks like the 1” rings all the vortex lens covers to fit over the barrel

Oh yeah. I use a 20 moa rail and Burris signature rings to max out the elevation of the scope at its full internal adjustment.
Yeah I agree, the strike eagle is fantastic.
where could I go to get detailed or personal instruction to learn more about using a scope and its function?
Which functions in particular? Feel free to reach out to me on Instagram or email.
I’m looking for the same thing. I want to get into NRL22 but I’ve never used a scope in my life.
Good scope, quality issues, and zero stop limits it to like 18-19 mil
What was some of the quality issues?
What’s scope rings do you have on it?
And what size rings do you need?
@@nickcowan7056 In the video mine has the MDT Premieres and the other has the Vortex PMR's.

So which scope is going to be your new main for 2021?
Stay tuned, I’ll be making a video for that when it arrives
@@Womfat The Riton Conquer X3 is your new scope for 2021?
No, I was testing that scope for the CRPS. My new main scope is the Athlon Ares ETR
how does the glass compare between the two of these?
