My first visits to Manchester Victoria were in the 1940s - though I don't remember them! I have clear memories of the station in the 1950s and then in the 60s when I lived in that part of the world. On my very rare visits these days I find the station is a mere shadow of what it used to be. Enjoyed your video though - I filmed Scotsman later that day at Carlisle and Penrith. Hey! I just heard someone on the platform here insinuate that Scotsman is, quote 'not the same engine' unquote. Lady, I assure you, they wouldn't have gone to all the fuss and bother for a phoney!!!!
There's one thing I give a definite thumbs down to that's seen here and on most videos with stations. Pedestrian bridges across the tracks with stairs! I wish much more consideration was given to those with prams and those with mobility problems! Ramps not stairs!

Manchester Victoria has lifts onto the bridges that are by the main entrance, fortunately.
