I've been flintknapping and practicing primitive living skills for decades. You did one of the BEST jobs I have ever seen with giving details in a presentation. Keep up the great work brother. Peace.
Wonderfully done! Like to see it being used to hunt a seal. With the abundance of seals we have in the Port au Choix region it shouldn’t be a problem. Just need the ice conditions to go with it.
Wow, Sir! I was watching a relaxation meditation video before I watched this, and this was equally relaxing! This as well as all of your videos are very well put together! I have practiced making flint tools, but mostly work on pottery these days! I for one could appreciate the time and effort that goes into one of these prehistoric masterpieces! You're a real master when it comes to reproducing the past as accurately as possible! Again, Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Simply nice work with items at hand. Ancient preparation had such a clear understanding to primitive peoples. Many apparent advanced societies of today perceive modern intelligence to surpass that of prehistoric human beings; yet in reality, the buffer in survival of human beings on a daily basis has become numbing, if not absent to 21st-century mankind. This lost understanding of cultural practices will leave many people of these modern times hard-pressed to make a genuine pursuit in hunter-gatherer skills required to live. Life or death in a difficult period or a collapsed society may rest only in feeble and futile attempts in a warrior mentality. I’m afraid an education by pseudo-realistic, violent video will leave modern man ill-equipped for any real success at utopia. People today will find no hope of civilized living as once effectively pursued for thousand of years under some of the most difficult circumstances imagined. Thanks for recreating a small window into these authentic skills, knowledge, and struggles primitive peoples faced with each day’s challenges to gain another sunrise and another very intelligent generation of their people. A well built harpoon and a reliable kayak become a worthy endeavor when compared a quest for nuclear superiority and the conquest of mankind.
Hi, what an interesting video. What is the leather like rubbery fabric piece that you are using to protect your leg when you are making the sharp edges on the stone arrow head? Is it a piece of seal skin? Is that why it looks rubbery?
It’s hard to say, a lot though. I was originally going to record the time I worked on it, but since I often only worked on it for a few minutes at a time here and there that became impractical.

So that is a piece of elk leather actually!
Very nice work!! How many hours to make?

WOW. 😳 Just. WOW! Of course, it's not ex-arch till you stick something with it, right? 😁
Thanks Chuck! But there aren’t a whole lot of seals in Kentucky 😂

That would be awesome, I’d love some ballistics gel to demonstrate that
@@pathwaysofthepast I've seen a few videos on diy ballistics gel. Not sure how good any of them are...

All that's left to do is to recreate a whale to throw it at.
