Great podcast! Great to hear the mutual respect both teams have for each other. As an Air Force vet I will admit I’m biased but love both teams and will go see them every chance I get! Thank you both for your service!!!
The most exciting part of a nascar race or football game is always the flyover. I live next to the Bristol track so, I get to witness flyovers even if I’m not at the race. I love it! Thank you for all you do.
I was stationed at Nellis for many years in my career and saw the Birds on a regular basis in the T-38 then the Falcon. I love watching Mace’s videos especially when her pony tail is flying tight behind her helmet. I was sorry to see her leave the Air Force but I understand. Growing up outside McGuire AFB I had the fortune of seeing both teams in the F-100 and F-4I really believe that they had a big influence in joining the USAF and ultimately a career.
Navy lands well Air Force flies well * I've the Angels four times at Lemoore NAS, once in the 70s, twice in the 80s and once in 90s. I've seen the T-Birds twice at Travis AFB while I was stationed there. I've seen the Red Arrows, Snow Birds and even the Tri Color a couple of years before the crash at Rammstein AFB. I bleed AF blue, but I love the Angels and my Navy brethren. God bless all of you ✝️🇺🇲
Navy pilots don't land well. They crash into a boat without even flaring, firewall the Burner when they are supposed to be stopping, and their equipment figures it out. They fly very well though. Note: I have it on good authority from a fantastic civilian instructor, that the Navy pilots are "a cut above" even the air force pilots, both of whom he instructed at the same time in a certain program.
It's a special temporary duty they have to apply(like a job) for. Demo Pilots are active Fighter Pilots so they can only stay for 2 years before they have to return to fighter pilot roles to stay proficient. Rarely if ever does a pilot get to return to the Demo team a 2nd time. They like to give the opportunity to the most Pilots that want to apply.
Gucci, great interview! Still remember that awesome w/e with you and Thumper at Abbotsford. Tell Thumper to give those cowboy boots back to the Wild Weasel!! :-) Ridge!
Mr .Foley I love your interviews,Your energy makes me giddy like a little kid..I'm a Blue Angels fanatic & I love to hear behind the scenes /stories .
Has to be the best flying podcast ever. So many truths and so much pride in the men and women of our military flying community.
Fabulous! Thanks for this!
My pleasure!

Awesome Interview. Bad Ass!! Thank You Guys. I Salute You Both
I loved watching the T-birds fly over us in Denver during the pandemic!
This was a great show. Thanks both of you!!
BZ on this interview Gucci. Mace is one hell of a aviator (even for a Airforce pilot) as it is but just a perfect addition to the T Bird’s.
I came here after watching The Blue Angels (2024) on IMAX twice
Awesome Video John!

Thanks so much for sharing, we love hearing these throwback stories and appreciate the time you took to share it!
great interview and two exceptional people
I love how at 6:48 she talks about how the T-Birds picked something up from the Blues. That is exactly why and how training together should work.
Gucci, still have the Around the World at the Speed of Sound VHS. Watched it not too long ago. Glad I found your channel.
Great interview
enjoyed this conversation

Who video taped the routine that is played at debrief?
Is that a fist helmet top right ??
I was thinking the same.
What is a fist helmet? Please, I am a baby boomer non military person so forgive my ignorance.
@@dmarino2139 my squadron in the navy was vfa-25 fist of the fleet therefore a fist helmet
So where are the helmets ah 😊😊😊
came here for the helmets, stayed for the gun show.
So why do they only do 2 years as a thinderbird?
Thunderbird and Blue Angel tours are limited to 2 years (with rare exceptions) to 2 years for demo pilots to avoid stagnation.

The host is kind or a weirdo 😂😂 the lady is normal
Whose idea was it for the covid flyovers? Who pushed it into being?

Gucci, where can I get one of those Blue Angel stainless steel bottles.
