  • Hi Guys,
I’m Phill O’Neill from Australia and I hope you’re having a fantastic day.
In this video I compare different articulations of triple tonguing. TTK and TKT. I also show you the articulation I use most when triple tonguing.
Which articulation do you use for triple tonguing? Leave a comment below.

Thus far, I have found that tuh-duh-kuh AND tuh-kuh-duh BOTH have their place, depending on the lick at hand.
As a professional French hornist (Houston Symphony, etc.), I ALWAYS used tuh-kuh-tuh. But, see the above statement for my trumpet experience.

What works best is different from player to player.

I should get the cornet out more often 😊. As always, great video!

Less extraneous physical motion will help you, Phill.
    Still, you're a bad*ss!!! 🙂

Cornet is easier to play than trumpet. Period.

      I thought u said u were a horn player?
I think they both have their place and sometimes I find trumpet easier others I find cornet easier. Mostly theyre just as challenging and rewarding as each other.
