Droplet Digital™ PCR is an elegant technology that permits accurate and absolute quantification of target nucleic acid molecules. By partitioning a PCR reaction into thousands of nanoliter-sized droplets followed by amplification and subsequent interrogation of each droplet, Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR™) assays allow increased quantitative resolution, enhanced detection of difficult-to-amplify targets, better reproducibility, and simplified data analysis. Francisco joined Bio-Rad in 2000 to support quantitative PCR (qPCR) technology as a Field Applications Specialist (FAS) in the southeast United States. In 2006, he moved into the role of International FAS for the Gene Expression Division to promote best practices in qPCR around the world. Francisco is one of Bio-Rad’s most experienced qPCR specialists and a renowned speaker at international conferences and congresses. Currently, he’s focused on quantitation and detection applications that take advantage of the high resolution and sensitivity provided by Droplet Digital PCR technology.
