I tried KFC in London when I was studying there in the 80s, found the chicken greasy and soggy. Would always look forward to summer hols when I would come home to Malaysia to get my fill of KFC here.
KFC in the UK has never been popular for me 😏

The best way to eat KFC is to mix the mash potatoes together with coleslaw + chilli sauce and eat it with the chicken. Malaysian way. 😋

For me, it would be KFC for original recipe, and McDonald's Spicy or 3x Spicy Fried Chicken.
It's like KFC is the bare minimum when we talked about fried chicken with batter. Then if you like more crunch and flavour, go for McDonald's Fried Chicken.
But of course, that's just the fast food chain Fried Chicken. For Malaysian, Mamak's piping hot fried chicken or the freshly fried Ayam Goreng Rempah from nasi lemak/ nasi kukus stalls top the list.
also, street food fried chicken is on another level here. From the XXL Ayam Gunting with Taiwanese spices to battered fried chicken, it's difficult to say no 😄

I love hot & spicy of KFC since I was a kid in the 90's, 'till I lost interest of the original recipe 😂😂😂😂😂 - edit - I prefer KFC instead of the fried chicken of McDonald's, it's all about choice, though ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️

Should try the original as well....the original is always my better choice....i love the herbs ...you dont get that taste with the spicy one...

I will have to try the original they did give me some sauce but I wanted to try it on it’s own a little bit of Sambal would have been amazing though 😃

Hands down, McDonald's fried chicken for me, especially the Pedas variant. Used to love KFC's hot & spicy chicken before Maccies introduced them here. You should try the new promotional only 3X Pedas fried chicken from our local Maccies now.. it'll blow your mind (and your mouth, ofcourse! 😅) if you can find them. They seem to be out of stock everywhere. We Malaysians sure do love our spicy fried chicken 🍗 😆 Loving your food exploration vids Donovan, hope you'll stay longer here and explore more.. and also hope that Malaysia has been treating you well. 👍🏻

If I had to pick between McDonald's and KFC, I'd go with McDonald's. Malaysian KFC is annoying, the chickens for the most part are smaller than they used to be

I would choose mcdonald's but the mash potato and coselaw in kfc is very good.

For chicken i choose kfc but it quite smaller part than mcd.. but for fries, mcd stil no.1. Cannot beat.😂

The KFC Malaysia 🇲🇾 nowadays the recipes totally different with previously without the amazing famous aroma smell ….. just an ordinary fried chicken 🐔 nothing special, quite sometimes I didn’t take it so called boycott it 😊

For me, pizza hut's roasted chicken is tastier and better than KFC and MCd, even though it's small, it's not greasy and fatty

@@_donovanclayton Chicken pizza is marinated with high quality ingredients and baked with fresh /young chicken, only the size of the chicken is quite small but it tastes like BBQ chicken, you should try

yup. kfc used to have this distinctive fragrance and spices taste, which make it stand out. but now the taste is milder. kid u not, once the smell of kfc in a certain distance will manage to grab ur attention 😅 but now, i dont feel like it anymore. have u try our famous Roti Boy (our local simple butter bun), the sweet smell from the Roti Boy chain, is something that hard to missed. kfc used to be like that but now not anymore.
