I believe that you quickly realized that something is wrong. Riding it without fixing it would be dangerous I think. It was some work, but you made it till the end. Great video. You got my like. Keep it up mate.
Yes their was a lot of bolts to remove to replace it. I started the reassembly and then forgot to install the spring clip off of the old one. had to remove add and then finish the install. Thanks for dropping by, Cheers
I have a 2005 Road King Classic. I had replaced at least 5 (3 on the left 2 on the right) of those until I figured out how to stop it. I ended up making a connecting part. That was 12 years ago. Have not replaced one since.
I would be interested is seeing your Mod. Next time you take the bags off take a picture of your fix and post it. I'll sure you would have great response. Cheers Dave
@@HarleysDinersRides It is just a longer version of the bracket that connects the two sides with additional holes. Just takes a lot of calculations on the amount of metal needed and the bends needed to have the right shape for the extra holes you will need.
Great catch. I agree with supporting a dealer when you can. Glad you were able to fix it. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Jerry How's the Pan American running

Yup I had to do that on my '98. I think it was the same side even, probly vibration induced over time. I got replacement part used from ebay.
Hey Ron, I have now replaced both sides. Hopefully the new parts last. Cheers Dave

@@fogit4668 Thanks for letting me know, cheers
What’s the locking mechanism for the saddle bag bracket that screw you put on the new one
It's actually a spring clip/nut that you have to remove from the original frame. It is on the reverse or back side.
Yeah the dealership will gouge you sometimes but at least you know you’re getting the right part
I try and use our dealership when I can. We get individual points and points toward our HOG Chapter at the dealership.
