I like the song. I won't lie, I was scared for her US debut knowing how critical ppl are here. But I like the song and Im glad she chose this song as her Debut bc it's mellow enough to listen to, easy on the ears, yet has a nice beat to vibe to. A lot of the people in the video are her friends. She wanted a fun video and what better way than to have your friends there? She did not grow up in South Korea so her friends do not consist of mainly Korean people. 3. This is just one song by her. I'm sure she will eventually release other songs that might be better. Guys, this is just a song to introduce herself to the audiences in America, it isn't to necessarily give off all of her musical aura. That should definitely be saved for later, this song is very chill, has a very safe melody and not only that... It's catchy. I like the song. I won't lie, I was scared for her US debut knowing how critical ppl are here. But I like the song and Im glad she chose this song as her Debut bc it's mellow enough to listen to, easy on the ears, yet has a nice beat to vibe to. I was afraid that it might be something too extraordinary for Americans to listen to but I'm glad this was her song.
Of course not her best work bc we've all seen better and we know her potentials... But to look at the overall situation, this was and is the best choice to go by. Just wanted to put this out there;
1. Method Man heard that she was sampling his song and contacted her. He gave her permission and even made a cameo in the video.
2. A lot of the people in the video are her friends. She wanted a fun video and what better way than to have your friends there? She did not grow up in South Korea so her friends do not consist of mainly Korean people.
3. This is just one song by her. I'm sure she will eventually release other songs that might be better. This is actually tame for her considering her past songs.
4. CL is not a typical stick to one style person. Yes her song before this was a "in your face" song and this not. I don't think you should expect her to do something you expect. Rather, be prepared for unexpected stuff. Frankly, that makes me excited to know that she's going to surprise us but at the same time not know how.

Guys, this is just a song to introduce herself to the audiences in America, it isn't to necessarily give off all of her musical aura. That should definitely be saved for later, this song is very chill, has a very safe melody and not only that... It's catchy.

Well long story short she was to make a debut is the U.S. with a full album she made in 2013/14 i belive. So during the haitus of 2ne1.
She released 2 songs, this one and hello bitches, but then nothing. Theres was a teaser of an mv she did but that never was released and neither was her album after 2 years of waiting. And why ? we dont know.
Then minzy escaped from YG because they were sleeping on everyone.
So she then came back in korea with the others 2 girls and made an album. That was finished and everything BUT then YG disbanded the band in 2016 before releasing anything. With no reasons.... Again!
So has a goobye to 2ne1 fans they made a mv with basically no budget really with their recorded song "goobye" that was originally aimed for Minzy departured from 2ne1.
Then its like CL is - ok then let me make my music then and release something... but nothing! CL posted some publications on hers socials letting us know she was getting frustrated with the fact that nothing was advancing in her music carreer.
And then when her contract was to be resigned in 2019 but obviously she decide not to because they didnt let her do nothing for so long.
I mean lets not forget that before all the kpop fever took all around the world, 2ne1 made selling records in america for kpop and we're getting well known. CL was said to be the second most influential person on the the planet by the TIME in 2015. She was about to blow all over with proper managment and promotions but yg never delivered.
