Love,love,love Westies..mine turned 6 last month (Dec.2020) and HATES water! Bath time comes..she does everything to avoid it! She's bold,crafty (slick),friendly (depending on her mood) smart,silly..but needs more adventure in her life! She didn't mind the beach that much,thou!
Hopefully the beaches (well,the dog beach..or a dog-friendly beach) will be back open this Summer! Time for adventure!

It's not a " White Scotty" lol..............West Highland Terriers ( Westies ) ARE White, by definition. They are always White. The Scottish Highland Terrier ( Scotty ) are always Black.....:)
They are cousins...The West Highland Terrier was bred from Scottish Highland Terriers 200 years ago...
Oh, I know, but every once in awhile, a Scotty will drop a white Scotty. They are very rare. Our neighbor has a white Scotty. I am owned by a West Highland White Terrier. They do have a bit of a wheaten stripe on their backs, which is a throwback to their Cairn ancestry. Yes, Westies, Cairns, Scotties and Skies are all very closely related. I've done a great deal of research on them ever since I had my first Westie, my beloved Zoe, who passed away three years ago April 5th. My Mac will be 13 in July. I have a Westie/Jack Russell mix named Maggie. She's pretty much all Jack Russell in personality! She is 3. I love smart dogs, which is why I have terriers.

Hi You HAVE done your research ! :) I had Westies for 32 years and now own a Dog Boarding and Walking Home when Owners go away or just need their dogs walked.
Being colour blind I did not notice that stripe for years until someone pointed it out ! lol
I'm sorry to hear you are colorblind. I am half-blind in my left eye. My right eye is 20/20, so it compensates for my left eye. How nice that you take care of doggies. We have an RV so our dogs can go with us when we travel. We can't bear to be separated from them! Currently, my Mac is snuggled up to me in bed. It's his bed; he lets me sleep in it, lol! He has Westitude in spades! I actually sleep better when he is in my bed. His presence is very comforting. I have a broken back, so he nurses me, as well. He's an excellent nurse.

When I am busy I sleep downstairs overnight with the dogs who are small/medium sized and it's common to have 4 sleeping on/under/around me on the sofa through the night ..lol
