@@GumbaIIWaterson First of all, that has nothing to do with Netflix being a billion dollar company and being fully capable of paying people to extend art by hand! And second, you seem like a hateful person. "Gay furry art" makes more money than you'll ever make and they're well within their right to get paid for their work.
@@GumbaIIWaterson Also, there's a reason artists are often "liberal" or "left leaning" (usually that just means they try to have empathy for different kinds of people, and want a better world for everyone, not just the rich, so I wouldn't see it as an insult). Because art is so often used to express emotions, concepts, ideas, that reflect reality. Arcane itself is political, with its themes of class differences, progress within a society, power and corruption.
I don't mind AI art if it's used for novelty or as a little hobby, but a project being presented with an air of refinement needs the hand of an informed artist and not an automated tool. Similar to what is said among carpenters: measure twice, cut once.
Like seriously....JUST ASK THE ARTIST, that poster I have it and is beautiful, why in god sake if for what ever reason Netflix need he image extended, I'm sure the artist who made it could have extended naturally, hell even other artist would have extended for a commission, hell even just for the SHOUT OUT, like Netflix linking the artist name in every post, that is a good payout as that will mean more followers for any artist that collaborate on that, but noo, let's use the worst possible way to go and ruin a good image, thanks was taking out as ruin the beautiful artwork that the artist that worked on the poster did.
It starts with normalising using it for little things, until it’s completely normalised for everything. We need to try to stop AI usage before it’s normalised!
It's not horrible to use a program to extend an artwork that you already have. I'm pretty sure Netflix outsourced to some artists and the guy being lazy just used the Photoshop Auto generate feature. And honestly called it a day and an easy paycheck and to be fair I would have done the same thing. I'm pretty sure Netflix just didn't want to bother Riot for such a simple job.

I think AI art is great for individuals who are creative and need concept art to help bring their vision to life, but can't draw themselves or can't afford to hire an artist. It's also good as a 'proof of concept' tool to pitch ideas to studios. I also think its great for making silly projects for UA-cam that isn't meant to be taken seriously. Aside from that, I just don't think it should be used in any official capacity, as it steals from other artists and takes jobs from those who ARE capable of contributing to these projects
@@diegcon0Not unless we make it so. There's always another way, and Indie Communities have already proven that in the past. You may feel that it's pointless, but it means everything that we keep fighting against this. Netflix has already taken out most of the animated media in their catalog,we can't let them get away Scott free.
1) it's not real art. Art by definition is the physical manifestation of human emotions and thoughts. 2) it steals from actual art made by real artists to create its images, most of the time without the artists' consent. 3) it's being used to replace real human artists to the benefit of only these big companies. People's careers are being ruined for no benefit whatsoever aside from a few more dollars in some rich person's pocket. This means that not only does ai art steal from real artists but it steals from us specifically to replace us.
4) Quality of a complex AI output is currently much more low, than it's acceptable for commercial products. If big companies still use AI output without any editing or quality checks, it means they expect customers to eventually pay for something of this level. If people wouldn't make a noise, they'd try to sell the print next and I doubt final price would be cheaper. I think them using AI is a part of the strategy to get people to lower their standards bit by bit. So the companies would hire less artists, pay them less, spend less time on a project, but customers would pay them the same amount.
@@stuffynosepatrol 1)You are right, it's not art. it's just an extension. So, it's okay then? 2) And so does every artist, you "steal" from everything you see, it gets deconstructed and stored as memory in your brain, later to be recalled and smashed together to create a new mental image. That's like, how creativity works pal. You can start arguing about consent after you present the whole list of all artworks you have ever seen and then go to every artist mentioned in this list and ask for consent to use their art in your learning process. 3) Industrial revolution and it's consequences. If we're being serious, you have no right to talk about job replacement without living in the forest while only using staff you made yourself. @umimop 4) Actually a good point i wholeheartedly agree with. We should hold them accountable for the quality of the end product. In this case, they have done seemingly nothing to correct the results, which can only mean that their QA department is either incompetent, or corrupt.
@@protoney860 2) when an artist creates art they do so with the knowledge that other humans will take inspiration from it and therefore when an artist posts their art publicly they are consenting to having other people take inspiration from their work. This is something every artist knows. However, they do not consent to having massive tech corporations steal their work and literally copy paste it without any thought or imagination of its own to add to the piece (sometimes to the point where the artists watermark is literally still present). When a human takes inspiration, it's called taking inspiration. When a machine copies your artwork into a massive collection of data to create an image that is literally just the frankensteined art of other people, that is called stealing. It is not the same thing. And before you say it, no, when a human makes art it is not just frankensteining together whatever other art they've seen, they add their own complex thoughts and ideas into the piece. A robot cannot do that. 3) the difference between this and the industrial revolution is that the industrial revolution actually had many many benefits to common people. Yes it replaced a lot of jobs but you'd be heart pressed to find anybody who would say it wasn't for the greater good. Tell me what good generative ai gives to the common people that outweighs the damage done to them? All I can think of it being used for is stealing the jobs of creative people, being used to create political propaganda and being used to create illegal images of kids. All to the benefit of nobody but the big tech ceos who fund this stuff. 4) I agree with this actually. I genuinely think a lot of the generative ai being slipped into modern media by these massive companies is a ploy to condition people to expect lower and lower quality slop until they can't tell what's good quality and what's bad quality. Similar to what they've done with writing in movies over the past few years.

I think the government should step in and outlaw the usage ai generated media in products and advertisements.

Why do big companies that have billions use AI art? Just pay your artist :/
"Just pay your artist" its not that deep bro. Art is so easy to do if you just put time into it. 🤡
@@GumbaIIWatersonWha-..
But he's right though, the hell are you trying to imply here?
@@NinjaXFiles most of the time artist do a crappy job and are extremely left and liberal and furry gay like. Those artists dont look for to pay. Regular ones you need to
@@GumbaIIWaterson First of all, that has nothing to do with Netflix being a billion dollar company and being fully capable of paying people to extend art by hand!
Seems in character, Netflix are always disrespecting things.
AI art is only good when it's being used for fun, not profit.
Stop using ai and let artist cook!

It's like every big cooperates use AI nowadays.
I don't mind AI art if it's used for novelty or as a little hobby, but a project being presented with an air of refinement needs the hand of an informed artist and not an automated tool.
Similar to what is said among carpenters: measure twice, cut once.
Gordon Ramsay AI is the best
Ohhhhh nooooooo…..
First was AB, now it’s the flix. WE’RE DOOMED……
couldn't give two fucks about it lol, but yeah they could have asked the artists to extend it.
at least it was just to extend and not to make the entire picture
It starts with normalising using it for little things, until it’s completely normalised for everything.
We need to try to stop AI usage before it’s normalised!
no excuse, it begins with subtlety and then when you notice it is everywhere and too late
@@NotReal4, bruh

It's not horrible to use a program to extend an artwork that you already have. I'm pretty sure Netflix outsourced to some artists and the guy being lazy just used the Photoshop Auto generate feature. And honestly called it a day and an easy paycheck and to be fair I would have done the same thing.
I'm pretty sure Netflix just didn't want to bother Riot for such a simple job.
id rather be the company who spoiled sonic movies twice and the mario movie once rather than any company using ai for art

This is why I like indie animation more
Edit: Some shows on Television are good too btw.

Especially since shows like TADC are now mainstream across the globe!
Netflix’s stupidity is worse than I thought
Coming from someone with an anime picture is crazy now cry
@ It’s from a video game and I can like whatever I want, no law against it
Genuine question: why is this such an issue? Sorry I’m not american.
@umimop
4) Actually a good point i wholeheartedly agree with.
@@protoney860I've replied but it won't show up in your notifications. To see my reply you need to go to the original video and find this comment again.
