This is only a cover of one of the greatest songs from Creedence Clearwater Revival. I never understood how Hanoi Rocks became famous with this. It's just a cover, like the Chinese reproduction.

They became famous with this song because it is a good cover...

I could not disagree with you more. This worked excactly because it is NOT a chinese reproduction. (Actually it´s a Hanoi reproduction.) It fits for Hanoi Rocks like a magic glove. Some songs are just magical with some artists, as if they were made for them (as well as artists who made them, of course) and these are rare occasions. Marvin Gaye´s I heard it through the grapevine is not that far from the original and still it is a gem. Twist and shout by the Beatles, the same. Manic Monday (Prince had made his version, not released it yet though- now it is out there) is also very loyal to the original. To name a few. The originals to all of these are diamonds. But the covers just add to the song, they do not sound like a cheap reproduction - for some reason, who knows what. There are not too many. Say what you will, you have the right to say your opinion. But it is a very lonely opinion. For some artists it works that they change the song a lot, for some artists it works to leave it as it is and just give it ther own flavour to go through and bang, there it is. It is not about changing the song every time to a whole new thing. Sometimes something just works for somebody, simple as that. It needs luck, talent, great style and skill, though.
