Man, the delay config for pass thru is an amazing feature ! Exactly what I was looking for to solve my situation on a 5.000sqm location to sound. Thanks for the review
Question, is running a wire always going to sound better then Bluetooth? When pairing your music? Thanks
Yes.. bluetooth has more compression and does have the ability to have dropouts.. As the audio tech at EV said this past week at the Audio Symposium.. 'if you can run a wire, do it! you are assured a lot less problems if you don't need wireless'
@@discjockeynews thanks
Bluetooth is always mono - simulated stereo at best.
Hi would this speaker be considered the successor to the EON 15 G2?
I just got a pair of these just to test out. I may just keep them because in reality a DJ should have two sets of speakers.
It looks like the software updates did fix some earlier issues. I also had Alto speakers and these are much better.
For my purposes I need a subwoofer for my gigs. I just love bass. A bonus not often mentioned when you use a sub or two is that it allows for more power for the tops because the tops are not pushing that much bass. I would say easily twice the power to the tops or 3 to 6 db more output for the tops when they are crossover at say 100hz high pass.
I also own the IRX and the PRX series. I am replacing my IRX with EON's most likely. For me it's a step up.
EON's certainly win out when it comes to weight. The PRX are much heavier. However the PRX can push out more sound and are my best tops so far. I would say that my PRX12 matches up or is better than the QSC12. PRX wins sound quality, QSC better bass.
I use my PRX when I know that my gig is going to need high output such as outdoors or a large room. It's a good series for JBL and worth the money.
After testing the EON's, they are going to be used for lots of gigs. I will always use them most likely with a sub. I plan on using them for my smaller gigs or when I want to play music via bluetooth. For me they will make good monitor speakers, wedding speakers and corporate events. I will also use them for smaller crowds of say 50 people or so. They also make good 2nd room speakers for cocktail hour or wedding ceremony. Rock bands yes, DJs yes ... but look at how large your gigs are and how loud you need to get... To me the EON compares favorably with the EV ZLX line, Yamaha DBX line ... and other entry level lines ... It's got Harbinger, Rockville and Alto beat IMO ... The warranty is now 7 years ...
Can you use 4 EON tops and match what two PRX tops can do? I think so ...
Are you saying Alto speakers are better than EONs?
Any kind of effects built-in such as Reverb or delay?
yes, there are some.. best to use the app to dial in one's needs for sure!
Im looking for a powered monitor to use strictly for bass guitar. Its for a venue that has a very small stage, and my amp is facing the back of my knees lol, and I cant hear it unless I turn it up, which our sound man hates. I do have a tube preamp pedal I use. Will this give me enough bass?
does it have echo?
Is there something we can buy to prevent the speaker from spinning on the stand.
Did u figure this out
@@LB-lx8iq I never bought it. The guy never responded.
any opinion on this as a monitor for live band small to medium venues and outdoor?
If someone links their phone to the speakers bluetooth, they have full control. There is no security
I started with two of these and then two months ago I bought two more I live in a rural area and have them in my garage that’s away from my house they are amazing the bass is incredible you can literally hear it a mile away at 25 percent volume on my phone and -5 decibel when I put my phone on max and speakers plus 20 you can’t even bare the bass it crazy I didn’t believe my neighbors until I went to one of there houses about a mile away and it raddles there house like a earthquake
THANK YOU for simplifing the options...!!!!!
In your opinion, what is the best setup for a live show?
I bought one of these for preaching on the street. To be honest I struggle to get volume out of it ad compared to my 10 year alto TS212. And that is with the decibels up and with channel and master volume up
I am planning to return it as I can get a used Alto 2500 watt for $200 less than I paid.
there are some many ways to bring up the volume.. and it doesn't feel intuitive on how to adjust for max sound pressure.. I had that same concern and decided they were not for our use.
@@discjockeynews when you say struggled getting volume out of them, do you mean it not being as loud? I'm planning on using them for medium sized venue parties for djing
any advice on how to gauge if it might be good for me?
This or alto ts415?
Great review thanks, If I add a sub is there any way to set this speaker for this for less bass
So not a good option for a rock band?
can i set it to always on?
How do you sync 2 speakers together?
Tws bt pairing
Like the speakers but any information to correctly adjust the speakers sound
Yes turn the gains up and then that large master control gives the real powe r
Love it John, how cold is it in your area?
jbl eon 715
jbl irx 112bt
Which one has better bass?
eon 715 has the better bass
@@krimeistdie1144 Bro, what should I get a Partybox 1000 or the EON 715
@@GeneralUnit the partybox 1000 is better for party because u need just 1 and its better to transport and for the eon 715 u need 2 of them and the subwoofer then it has more bass and is louder but more expensive (sorry if my english is not the best haha)
Once you update the firmware its a much better speaker
I just purchased a pair............didn't have any other options, as I need to DJ this weekend. What do you think of it???
@@tommyleejr.1326 update the firmware immediately
@@Dj2knitro this or alto ts415 ? And how do we update in case I get this over the alto speaker is a 150+ difference per speaker so 300 more than the alto pair
@@LB-lx8iq alto for sure no doubt. But these decent not as powerful as those imo.
@@Dj2knitro ok I'm getting ready to purchase a pair this Saturday Gods will so was debating between. Those or the EV 15s but they only 1300w and altos 2500w vs Mackie and some others but yea alto will be what I'm getting 🙏 thank youu
How to connect through Bluetooth?
The JBL EON700 series speakers SUCK, take my word for it!! Don't even waste your money.
There is no security on the bluetooth. If someone connects to it, they have full control. I've looked into every-way to disconnect/disable/turn off the bluetooth.
The best one was eon g 2 15. After is just some s..
Thanks for the review. Now I will not buy it - seems too fidgety, I just need reliable active speaker, don't need no BT or digital menu. Now JBL is starting to look like some cheap chinese company who is selling all-in-one crap.
After jbl got sold, the company has never been same.
Harman just made it forward, not for PA off course
When did that happen? That explains how I'm sitting here lugging this thing out to my car on a set break after plugging into the house PA system, which consists of two old school analog JBL speakers. This goddamn thing is useless
I hate this thing. Just spent $500 for this speaker on the strength of their old school equipment. God damn thing shows up looking like a spaceship and offering to connect to my cell phone. Get to the venue and plug it in and nothing. Clicking around on the silly digital settings menu and can't figure out how to get sound from a simple microphone plugged in the back. You have ONE JOB you goddamn digital piece of trash, GTFOH.
The JBL EON700 series speakers SUCK, take my word for it!! Don't even waste your money. These speakers completely TRASHED my New Year event.
What happened?
Tooomuch technology..no time to set up on a midle of a gig....is not good..peolple waiting and waiting if l can set up the speaker..😂😂😂😂😂😂..one more thing there is no a screw to tide up de speaker to the tripod...if jbl fix the speaker like the 615 series is going to be great..other ways de speaker is very dificult to set up...rms 650 perfect..but still very disapointed..
The JBL EON700 series speakers SUCK, take my word for it!! Don't even waste your money.
Don’t buy this speaker. They don’t have option to turn off bluetooth. Anyone can connect.
Agreed!
Wouldn't they have to pair it though first by hitting the sync button?
@@DJL3VITAT3I’m thinking that’s how it goes. At least I thought
Iiup kg to dhusrurtj to fuydru ug
@@DJL3VITAT3not at all. No sync function from the speaker end. Just happened to me at a gig. Some random person connected and was watching TikTok videos.
Too bad you can’t play on two speakers together. I have tried the pass through but it causes the second speaker to shut down. Waste of money.
Had the same problem, using XLR from pass through of speaker one to channel 2 of second speaker. Again using XLR from pass through of second speaker to channel 2 of first speaker. Using Behringer mixer to input Mics and Ipad then line out to channel 1 on both speakers. There must be a better way surely ?
How is the sound!? That is the most important thing which is not covered..jeez!
*I use a pair of these for my holiday house TV speakers/music video's, love the power, bit more bass would be nice but I haven't used the bass boost yet, I have a pair of JBL310 speakers for the terrace, they have great bass for the size.*
