  • A compilation of video taken with GoPro Hero 4 Black while snorkeling and scuba diving at 1000 steps in Bonaire Dutch Caribean. The first part of the video is scuba diving and the second part is snorkeling. I used the backscatter shallow filter when diving below 10 ft and the backscatter macro mini for the macro shots. Beautiful healthy fields of staghorn coral with tons of marine life are easily accessible by snorkeling in the shallows. The deeper reef is equally as healthy with huge heads of Porites, brain corals, and many other species. We saw a number of species of moray eels, stingrays, filefish, pufferfish, pipefish, damselfish, French angelfish, butterflyfish, sergeant majors and countless others.

This is one of the best Bonaire videos I have seen. The colors and composition are incredible. Professional all the way.

    Hello Joshua,
Thanks for sharing your beautiful made video: it shows so well the precious marine world! I returned last week from Bonaire. Looking now at your footage, it brings back my holliday memories (I even had the same rented pickup truck as yours from Avis). ‘Dankie!’

Great video and encouraging to see such healthy stands of staghorn coral. Dove Great Barrier Reef a couple of years ago, and coral bleaching was bad.

Love the video! Just amazing how you keep the video so steady. How do you do this underwater? Do you have a video on how you get steady video underwater? Thank you for the awesome video.

Me and my friend dived there! His grandparents live up the road from there last Bopec (I forget spelling). Those steps are tiring when packing dive gear haha

Hey where did you find those beautiful coral reefs in bonaire when snorkeling at 1000 steps? Im in Bonaire right now, do you maybe remember the way you went when snorkeling there?

There are some big shallow beds of staghorn and gorgonian (corals) around 10-20ft deep that you can see snorkeling right off the beach. The other stuff is deeper and you need dive equipment or good lungs to free dive down.
