    Thank you I have been telling people for years that yellow fog lights ARE the way to go. For those exact same reasons you stated. Lexus used to have their sedans come standard with yellow fog lights but they changed for some reason. I even remember back in the 80s how MOST manufacturers, if they were to put foglights on their product they were usually yellow! I don't know why it changed all of a sudden but it was a very stupid. move as more drivers hit potholes and bad spots on roads due to poor visibility! That's even with 'fog lights' standard.

    Amber/yellow is easier in your eyes and also let’s you see further down the road.
    White light glares and blinds incoming drivers.
    Yellow light cuts through fog
    White light makes fog completely opaque.

    I believe most people don't drive much in moderately bad weather that includes thick fog or heavy rain. It's in these situations that the yellower light really shows it's strength and the more blue light shows it's hindrance.
    If you're not driving in those conditions much most people prefer the more neutral white colors to light up nearby objects and things just off to the side of the road.

    I got leds in my low beams from fahren haven’t had any issues with them other than i originally adjusted the beam pattern for a halogen housing which is 3/9 so the pattern looks weird as hell. someone told me they need to be 12/6 meaning the led chips are vertical. That’s fine but fahren has a weird way of adjusting them with some screw you have to turn on the top of the bulb that’s nearly impossible with them installed on the car. looks like the gtr can just be twisted but idk if they’re longer than the fahrens that just barely fit behind my dust covers. that’s why i haven’t made the switch

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  18 днів тому

      For the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLB 250 4Matic, it depends on the specific headlight configuration your vehicle is equipped with. The GLB 250 can come with either halogen headlights or LED units, and the bulb replacement process differs between the two:
      Halogen Headlights: If your GLB has halogen headlights, it's usually possible to swap out the halogen bulbs with a different color temperature (like yellow or even LED bulbs) for better visibility or desired lighting color.
      LED Headlights: If your vehicle comes with LED headlights (likely standard in many trims), it is typically more complicated to change the bulb, as most OEM LED systems are designed as sealed units. In this case, swapping out the entire unit or using specialized lighting accessories may be necessary for a noticeable difference.

    what benefit would i have with ice blue fog lights?

    • @RetrofitSource
      @RetrofitSource  18 днів тому

      Ice blue fog lights offer a sleek, modern look and can enhance visibility in clear weather by providing a sharper contrast. However, they tend to scatter more in fog, rain, and snow, which can reduce visibility in poor conditions. Yellow fog lights, on the other hand, are better suited for bad weather as they cut through fog, rain, and snow with less glare, providing clearer visibility. They are also easier on the eyes during long drives. If you prioritize style and performance in clear conditions, ice blue might be the way to go, but yellow is generally better for harsh weather driving.

    4300K is kinda the best of both worlds...
    - 3000k you get better light deep (fewer shadows and fewer particles glare) but you lose color deep.
    - 5000k has the best color contrast but has more shadows and particles glare.
    - Over 5000k you just get more shadows and particle glare with no real performance gain in color contrast.
    - 4300k you get almost the same light deep as 3000k and you gain a crap ton more color contrast!
    - In white conditions (fog-snow-mist) 3000k (and lower) is better for you to stand out (people see you better for the contrast to white) so an amber would be a bit better than yellow but yellow light would be safer, even as a headlight in such condition. Really need a light that changes from 3000k - 4300k - 5000k with a click.
