Not sure why HTM gets a bad wrap. He came to my small town around 2007 and wrestled. After the show he hung around to sign photos of himself as IC champ for $5. He asked where he could go to get himself a drink 🥃 I told him there was a party store right around the corner. He had his wife hand me a $20 and asked me to grab him a pint of the cheapest vodka they had. Grabbed him a pint of Popov for $7 I handed it to him. He told me to keep the change he then gave my young son a signed photo that he was selling and took a picture with us. So when I watch the video of King Kong Bundy saying HTM was a cheap skate that never tips I think Bundy is full of it. I found HTM to be a really cool down to earth guy. My son is now 19 and still has his signed photo framed with the picture HTM took with Us Hanging up. Thanks HTM will never forget it.
HTM is a tough guy to take Popov! Oh my goodness that stuff can disinfect a sink! But all aside, I like hearing a positive story about HTM because he seems like a genuine guy.
HTM was a baby face for his first few matches. I have been watching all the Superstars, and primetime and wrestling challenge starting in 1986 when I first watching when I was 11 years old. I never remembered HTM coming in as a baby face without his shake rattle and roll until Hart took him on. His first 4 matches he was a baby face until there was a vote saying most people hated him and Jesse the Body really tore into HTM. Then next week he was with Hart.
@@billblaski9523 Just a fan who took his kid to the matches. HTM wrestled in the main event. Afterwords he was signing photos and chatting with some of the fans when he asked where he might be able to buy a pint. I told him where he could buy it and he asked if I would be willing to go up for him so he could finish signing his photos. Guess he just figured if I stole his $20 he just had to sell 4 extra pictures 😂 he was a cool guy.
HTM and Ted DiBiase were the two heels in 87 that made me think it was cool to cheer the “bad guys” and my friends would get pissed because I loved the Honkytonk Man. They really hated me when he beat Ricky Steamboat for the intercontinental championship.😂👍👍👍 good times.
Dibiase picked me out of thousands of boos where I was the only one cheering for him (17,317 people at arco arena in 89) and gave me a big high five. I asked him about it on twitter and he still remembers me and I told him all my stories about myself and friends wrestling and how I made myself into my own million dollar man. The guy is flipping amazing, and to this day I still love Dibiase.
HTM is right he was very much hated in Canada. His feud in Stampede with Dr. D David Schultz was a good one. I do have a signed photo of HTM of his Tag Team with Dr.D.
I remember HTM coming into the WWF as a babyface and getting booed, but I never understood why. I didn’t even realize that he was wrestling in All Star Wrestling at the time (the BC based promotion that he mentioned) because for whatever reason ASW’s weekly shows stopped being received in my area shortly before this time (I had thought at the time that they had been cancelled, but apparently not). So it turns out that the problem wasn’t with the wrestler or the gimmick, but rather with the area where the TV was being taped. Had they waited and debuted HTM live from NYC, LA, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Detroit, Chicago, or pretty much anywhere in the USA, the reception probably would have been much closer to Vince McMahon’s expectations.
I’m home after being laid off thx to the Chinese flu. Came across a vid and I haven’t stopped listening since. He should have his own podcast or show. Very intelligent man. Hated him back on the day but he’s a great story teller.
I absolutely hated Honkey Tonk Man in those days, played the best heel outside of Piper and Heenan. Top three, definitely top 5 heels on personality and especially on the Mic.
He grows his hair long for 3 or 4 years and then cuts it to donate to 'Locks of Love', or one of the other charities that make wigs for little kids going through cancer treatment/chemotherapy. I do the same thing. Once I have 11 inches to donate, I cut it off. Leaving just enough of a nub to be able to pull my hair back and keep it tied. The Canadian organization that I donate my hair to want 11 inches of untreated (perm or color) hair. I give it to them..but I feel bad because I ever time I donate, there are more and more white and grey hairs in the ponytail I send them. I'm sure they pick those hairs out. Those sick little kids just want hair. Poor things.

Wait were u a worker on the show too or just some random fan that he gave $20 to, to get him some vodka from the store?

Is Honky’s wife attractive?
Honky was a great heel one of the best of all time imo.... He def deserved the HOF honor he got
Many wrestlers in Recent Years badmouth Hogan Alot. But Honky Tonk Man being positive with Hulk Hogan is Rare.

He was the best intercontinental champion
Dibiase was an awesome babyface by himself & when he was tagging with Dr Death Steve Williams when he worked for Bill Watts.

I love hearing all of these stories. Thanks.
I love the Stu Hart impression.
Hogan the " Stooge!!" of Vince!! 😂😂
I Have Always Liked Honky Tonk Man
HTM never had a chance as a babyface. I was new to wrestling in 86 and can remember he got booed and had to make the heel turn to get over in WWF
Wayne's on-air personality made him a natural heel.
HTM had been rasslin as a heel for almost 10years, prior to WWF
He was a great heel. HTM never would've worked as a good guy.
Pro tip: you can watch series at flixzone. Been using it for watching lots of of movies lately.

HARMARSCH2 really? That far back and you have a heel autograph? Amazing! 👏
HTM is really good here. I’ve seen other shoot interviews where he’s real mean but his great here.

I think he had a podcast at one point.
@@OneUponADime he did back in 2011. Think it's called htm radio here on YT.
The Magnificent Muraco....Stoned with donuts.
Sean's voice jumps and cracks more in his interviews than a thirteen year old boy 😆
Thank you

WRESTLiNGHDD it’s the sideburns that make it
He was really hot back then IMHO.
WRESTLiNGHDD I was more of a Trish stratus man myself

He sounds like a guy that would sit down at a bar, and bother the fuck out of you telling stories of the good old days
😆
