  • In this tutorial, I demonstrate how to use the TK Panel Frequency Separation action to repair things like lens flare, footprints and paint color. Frequency Separation is a Photoshop technique that is most often used in portrait and fashion photography to smooth skin, but it also has applications for image clean-up in landscape photography.

    I know it’s just the way lane humans operate. But I can’t possibly imagine ever giving a thumbs down to anyone producing free content, especially content this valuable.
    Been using this method ever since seeing it in your paid tutorials!

      Right!? Ah well. We all spread different energy in the world. Part of the territory so It’s all good. But if the numbers were the other way around I’d take that as a hard signal to spend my time on something else. 😆😆

      Lol... Very true.
      I was reading something a while back that said there is some kind of automated not system that does that also. Not sure...
      But yes, THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO TEACH US.

    24 years of using Photoshop and I’ve never heard of FS. Thanks so much. The results are incredible. I’ll have to look into this more.

    This is definitely one of my favorite techniques I learned from your course. Used it all the time to fix texture or weird color spot.

    Thanks Sean! This is the first time I'm actually getting what the FS tool does, and how to use it, not just the tool in TK but the concept in general!

    While usually I prefer keeping the imperfections, there is some use case where there is no other choice than removing it. Great technique, it could have save me quite a lot of time in the past. I'll keep it in mind. Thanks!

    Great tutorial Sean, I haven’t got the TK panel, but I’ve been able to get very similar results using Photoshop alone using the colour blend mode, clone stamp, clipping masks, curves & luminosity masks. 😀👍

    Very Powerful tool. I use Affinity Photo, there is a Frequency Separation tool, one click it creates a high and low frequency layer in the "correct" blend mode. I learned about this very powerful feature from @Robin Whalley here on UA-cam. I've been playing around with it and found it to be useful/creative in other ways too, like local sharpening and "smoothing" out water.

    Amazing tip Sean! Wish I thought about this when I was "cleaning up" a beach shot that was full of footprints! What TK panel would you recommend to use with Ps 2020??? It seems as the TK7 is only for PS CC?

    • @SeanBagshaw
      @SeanBagshaw  4 роки тому +1

      TK7 is it. PS 2020 is just the most current version of PS CC.

    Major problem right away. I am running Photoshop 21.2.3 (which as of today is the latest version) and I don't see a TK Panel or a TK Button. Where is it?

    • @SeanBagshaw

      The TK7 Panel is a custom extension panel created by Tony Kuyper. You can find out more here goodlight.us/

    Sean, just tried this on TK7 but I'm hitting problems. Everything works great until I change to the Texture layer at roughly 6:20. All I'm getting are black areas wherever I use the brush.
    Any idea what I'm doing wrong please?

    • @SeanBagshaw
      @SeanBagshaw  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Mike. Hard to say without seeing it. If you can email me screenshots of what you are seeing, as well as your clone stamp tool settings, I might be able to figure it out. sean@outdoorexposurephoto.com
