The second part of the story abt Churchill and Stalin involving the brandy (coniac) „Ararat” is: Churchill noticed that the brandy he used to receive from Stalin gradually was getting worse and worse. So, he found out that the chief of the factory that produce the brandy has been sent to gulag (soviet labour camps in Siberia). So Churchill wrote Stalin and asked to restore the old chief to the factory so he could get the old good taste of his favorite brandy. Stalin recalled that man and put him back to the leadership of the factory. Since then everybody was happy and the chief of the factory even got a medal from Stalin. Thats what legends say... ))
There's actually a third, more sweet finish to that tale, almost lost to a faded memory. Churchill was so impressed with that distillers talents that he asked stalin for him and his wife the ability to be legal custodians of the man. Surprisingly stalin permitted this on the condition that Churchill alow trade for Mr Jordan Margar Sedrakyan famously known as the master brewer of Sedrakyan lager A lengthy and rather jovial negotiation was had and on the 2nd May the swap was agreed. Through the years Margar Sedrakyan grew to love the now past prime minister and to some degree Zhigulevskoye his stalin too

lol good point.
Maybe it was filmed before he went to the airport
@Shaxx Which they do not even acknowledge to this day.
Shaxx the turkish deniars will be here soon
Qingeaton they are even proud of the horrendous murder they committed
I struggle with even the most mundane of conversations and this guy effortlessly comes up with brilliant questions such as "what do you say in your language if you make a mistake or something" (around 4:45). To some viewers it's so simple, nothing special, just a throwaway question. But it's so brilliant as an insight into the culture, it keeps people engaged, and as viewers it's a genuinely interesting question to which we're eager to hear the answer. What a seriously fantastic channel this is- we're all better off with it and I hope you (B&B) understand that your adventures have hit on something of interest and value to this bizarre culture that is humanity.
My wife is now stuck in Poland. I told her not to go. Unfortunately, she's not a fan of old soviet architecture or bus stations.
😂😂😂
Did u tell her "i told you so"?
@@hipmotion many times. She wanted to try to get a bus tomorrow morning. Luckily I convinced her to cross the border on foot in to Germany today. Germany just announced they are closing the border tomorrow morning. She's now home.
I think this may be the last B&B video we see for a while, unless he uploads videos of the inside of a soviet hotel room he has to be isolated in.
An abandoned Soviet airport right next to the new one? Must be a lucky day for Bald
and that new one...looks like 1972 or something
@@Qingeaton the new one is 2012
The harder you try, the "luckier" you get. Bald wouldn't be popular if he wasn't bold.

This was so freaking interesting. Love how you really get into the “real” country.
I once had a memorable Armenian meal in Manchester, lots of lamb and beans. Tasty but heavy going.
Yerevan, what a beautiful a city and beautiful pepole.
Greeting from Mexico City.
***Zvartnots is astonishing.
Relax bald! The video was great! Really enjoyed it.
I still remember one of the guys from (Armenian-American) summer camp driving us around in New York with Armenian music blaring out. Epic times. I am high, yes I am. (Armenians will get it.)
“That is the worst meal I’ve ever had in my life.” “It’s good!” 😂
Stay healthy!
this makes me sad I was looking forward for Bald trying the Armenian cuisine which is wonderful . But he was unlucky unfortunately :(

@@SERBIA1389SERBIA hello fellow Slav, here from Bosnia, liver is the thing here for barbecues, I would be extremely lucky if I could try Armenian cuisine.
The narrator's interest in everyday life is refreshing. Rather than going for "high culture" he stays close to the daily life of your basic resident. Much more persuasive a technique for travelers. Thanks
I went to Armenia in 2015 and I loved it! amazing people such a great fun!
Thank you for talking about and paying your respects to the 1.5 million people who were murdered by the ottomans I don't know if most people would talk about that at all
@Tyler Durden aggahahajaja
@Tyler Durden How come people don't complain when Jews fought back and attacked German villages / towns ? It's called self defense. If you are to complain that Armenians did that, then don't be a hypocrite and also complain that the Jews did the same thing too. Or even take the Rwandan Genocide, same thing happened. Victims began attacking back as a self defense. Double standards is the world's worse enemy.
@Truth What! You mean by simply being Christian, they deserved to be slaughtered? Please read up on your history before making such comments. Regards, Mitch
@Tyler Durden How about Christianity and wine? Also, food, I've had some great Armenian food, not what bald had, though.
@Tyler Durden Yeah, thanks to the Turkish. They still count.
Hey, Mr. Bald! Please come to Bulgaria one day. We were one of those Balkan Soviet countries, such like Yugoslavia. In the big cities you can't see many similarities between Moldova or Belarus, because we are doing better then them. If you come to the capital or other cities, talk in English most of the people will understand you, but if you are in some sort of village talk in Russian. Please visit the Rhodope Mountains, I assure you, you will be fascinated! Also of course we have many soviet statues don't worry. I wish you the best of luck!

This has quickly become one of my favorite channels!!! Thank You!!! Safe Travels.
I love liver! Visually the food didn’t look so exciting. But, I will always eat a dish that has liver. I enjoyed this video. Nice to go out with a driver for an afternoon. He seeded to enjoy the company.
The guys in red jacket when you were describing mount ararat was me 🤣😂
No way...
Did you recognize Bald back then?
When I saw him I was like i saw him somewhere. But when I scrolled UA-cam I saw him in armenia then saw the vlog and found myself 😂
This dude has been MIA for 3 weeks, should we be worried?
No not worried he just cannot travel anywhere so he is taking a break while the World is in lock down. However, he could do a brief video to say that he is doing well.
Mark Norville Anyone with common sense would know that. Clearly Level11 lacks it.

Ben, I live myself in UK for nearly 15 years and I am fascinated how you understand formal USSR situation. I am myself Soviet born man, I a lot of things resonate in me when watching your videos, your journeys.
Keep doing what you do, I see you being happy doing that.
I will be soon moving away from UK, would be great if you come to check to Lithuania, or around - would be happy to show you around places related to formal USSR

Hiii Bald I’m an Armenian viewer 🤗🇦🇲 And I want to thank you for paying your respects at the genocide memorial 🥺❤️ Lots of appreciation
It was so sad and poignant with the fresh carnations laid out on the stone in tribute. Words cannot express. . .
Doğancan Bediz the fact that you guys take every opportunity to say its not a genocide despite the undeniable amount of evidence provided, shows what an arrogant people you are.
Lucky you living in America and not Armenia eh. Have you ever visited Armenia?
Didnt even know one happened there until now, guess that just shows my ignorance
I am from turkey but i accept the genocide and i am so sorry about the doings in the past not every one in turkey think bad about armenians but yes a lot of the hatered grew from erdogans regimes and his denial of the genocide just added fire to the problem. I wish two countries would be friends and i would very much like to visit there but i am a little affraid to get hate over there but anyways love from turkey to armenians love you all
Pity that your stay in Armenia was cut short. It is one of my personal favourite travel destinations. It's a safe, friendly, affordable, and magical country. You made some unfortunate choices when you ordered your meal - I found (most of) the local dishes to be delicious.
Not safe if you are Turkish
Whenever I watch B&B videos, I always gravitate back to this video in particular. A a Westerner, I have very limited knowledge on Armenia, but this video really does Armenia some justice. It has inspired me to one day visit Yerevan. :D greetings to Armenia from Britain
