I'm an atheist, but I never understood that argument. I mean first off, isn't God's mind supposed to be unknowable to man? So who are any of us to say that the way we were born was wrong? And if we were born that way, doesn't that indicate that maybe God made us that way specifically? Especially considering the overall message of the New Testament and Jesus' teachings, it never made sense to me.

I have a daughter that’s trans and autistic so I can understand the struggle a bit and as a bipolar/adhd I strongly recognize the alienation. I’m 41 now and I’ve come to the realization that “normal” is just trends passing but it can be really dangerous to be different in so so so many aspects of life, but it’s worth it. I wouldn’t change me even if I could. As she said, being an alien can be stunning. And a cheesy quote that got stuck in my soul is. “If you wouldn’t be outside, in the dark you would never see the stars. And damn how much beauty we got here amongst the outsiders haven’t we? 🙏✨

teaching kids about trans people won't turn them trans, it'll give kids who are ALREADY trans the words they need to understand themselves. And it'll teach the kids who arent trans that everyone is different but also deserving of love.

    • @who__cares__
      @who__cares__ Рік тому +20

Not really, if you tell a child that if they like certain things like blues/pinks or what would typically be guy/girl things then they are trans
It'd be better if they were taught about trans in middle school when they have a little sense of self
      Leave the children alone
Leave the trans conversation at home, it's the parents job to teach their kids stuff like this not school systems who can't even teach basic life skills 🙄

@@who__cares__ Explaining to children that some people identify with their biological bodies and other people don't is not an inappropriate conversation, and isn't going to make children want to "switch sides." My parents kept pressuring me into being a girl. They bought me bras and make-up, they pierced my ears, said that I should be like "other girls". But it turns out you cannot change someone's gender. It would be funny if it wasn't so dangerous that people think mentioning trans people's existance will change the child's gender but an entire life telling them to be a gender doesn't do that. If that actually worked, don't you think queer people wouldn't exist anymore since we've been told for centuries that you should/can only be cis and straight?

I can’t even explain how liberating it was to finally find access to education to understand what it meant to be trans. I also knew from a very young age that I was trans but had no examples to reference or to help me explain it, until I was around 18 and could medically transition anyway. But before I understood that there were other people like me, that you could transition, and that it was possible for me to live comfortably in my skin, I was such a confused and angry person. I thought I was a “freak” and the entire world would hate me if I “changed” to become who I actually truly was the entire time. Realizing that I wasn’t alone, that other people experience it, understanding the science behind it, the psychology behind it, etc was literally life saving for me and I know it is for so many other trans identifying people as well. Happy Pride Month to my fellow queer people, we’ve been here all along and we aren’t going anywhere!🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

I'm a trans person at the very beginning of my transition journey, so videos like yours help me remind myself that things will definitely get much better (emotionally mainly, since depression is pulling me down a deep pool at the moment). My body is incredibly feminine, and that fact makes me feel overwhelmingly claustrophobic... I never want to rush anything since time will always bring what we deserve at the right moment, but my transition is, at this point, desperately needed. It rough...but you're proving to me that it will 100% get better, so, in the meantime, I have to be kind with myself and not freak out. I will reach my happy place some day.

What you said about educating kids about lgbtq+ people, and the correct language to use is so important. I’m a lesbian, but when I was a kid I didn’t even know you could be attracted to the same gender. My family are absolutely amazing, they aren’t homophobic, but they just didn’t teach us about this stuff. When I was little, I always thought ‘girls are objectively better looking than boys, but I’m sure everyone thinks that. Boys are lucky, I’ll have to be with one of them and they can be with a pretty girl’. Funnily enough, the first introduction I got to being gay was when me and my friends went to see brokeback mountain in the cinema as teenagers. A lot of people don’t know this but the film was originally marketed as a story of two friends. None of the original marketing showed that it was a romance between the two men, it was made to look extremely straight. We went into it expecting that, and I was honestly pleasantly surprised. I felt seen in a way. Throughout my teenage years, as the internet started to become more accessible and mainstream I figured out about different sexualities and gender identities online. Then in college my friend group was predominantly queer and I was able to come out to them and they helped me understand even more about the community. But the fact that I didn’t understand a lot of the basic stuff until I was in my late teens is crazy.

Trusting the process is such a good way to think about transitioning.
Before I started on T, I never thought I would ever get to where I am now.
Now I’m happy, and have a very supportive partner who loves me as a man because I am one.
    Happy pride everyone!!

5:36 THIS MOMENT IS SO JENNA MARBLES YESSSSSSSSSSSS iconic
I really really appreciate her talking about all the stuff at 12:11 because I’ve had a problem with the word “crossdressing” because it implies that there are strict “boy” clothes and “girl” clothes, when reality there are just CLOTHES.
    And also drag 💅🏼

I relate so much to your trans story, I'm a trans girl that came out when I had just turned 14 and now I'm 17 and have been on horomones for 2 years. I so relate to pre transition me being so shy and friendless to now loud, annoying and with friends! I love seeing someone in the media who I can relate to on a personal level. This look is so kunty btw I love!!

I'm a transgender man, but I relate so much to the "fuck it" feeling about wanting to do drag. I was a bit afraid of doing drag or makeup or crossdressing because I was thinking people would think I was regretting my transition or I was just joking around about being a man, but I have reach the point where I just feel like "fuck it, I know I'm a man, and I'm so confident and comfortable in my mind and body now that why shouldn't I do drag if I want to?" It's a wonderful freeing feeling.
