- We've always dreamed of crafting the ultimate Disco Strings library - so divine that we’d only ever need to do it once.
Well, dream no more because ... we did it!
Soundpaint Disco Strings UDS™ is a new generation Studio String product, exclusively recorded and designed for Soundpaint.
The instrument features an ensemble of seven Violins recorded in a warm vintage studio with three vintage microphones (Royer, Neumann and AKGs). The specific studio is 100% wood-based, so the sound is deliciously warm and sweet. A rich and vibrant tone. Not too dry. Not too wet.
Disco Strings UDS™ features a variety of novel sample technologies, including round-robin legato- and run-building legato. Every possible type of traditional multi-samples from emotional sustains to a wealth of short notes. All utilize our advanced morph-share technology for better playability and emotional realism. Only possible in Soundpaint.
Disco Strings UDS™ also features tens of thousands of Runs, Falls and Ornaments, so you can literally create any string arrangement of your dreams with ease and energetic realism.
Disco Strings UDS™ is exclusive to Soundpaint. It will be released on May 30th. Price is $99. The library features over 28.900 brand new Real-Time Samples™ and over 660 (P)articulations.
* UDS™ stands for Ultra Deep-Sampled, a groovy badge we only slap on our flyest gear, sampled so thoroughly we’re set for life.
Disco Strings... forever, baby!

Me this morning:
"I don't need to buy anymore libraries, I have everything I need."
Damn you Soundpaint!
Aww! It is our job to inspire and surprise. In all fairness, there isn't quite anything on the market like it, so perhaps your wallet will forgive the $99 investment-a lot less than the six-digit cost to produce it and build corresponding technologies ♥♥♥
🤣🤣
Man that sounds fantastic! It is so difficult to wait...
Yeah. We are SO happy with it too. Its super alive and the true polyphonic legato makes life easier too.
And here I thought I didn't need another string library...
This one is different. There really isn't any library like this around for groovy string writing. Lord knows the world has enough flautandos.
Splendid! Now we need a newly recorded, full-blown, full string library! ☺️
I hope this would be the last disco strings library I need, I have most of them and all of them have let me down one way or another
I can understand that. It is hard to compare this one against others due to depth of recordings. We are looking at over 30.000 recorded samples, which allows one to virtually write any disco string line imaginable - and with complete realism.
Wow, i’m amazed by this!
The poly portamento is finally done right!
Can’t wait to see the walkthrough! :D
Thanks Gabriel. Yeah - all the legatos are truly polyphonic now. You simply play them like a piano without need for overlaying keys and all that. The specific Portamento was matched against Staying Alive - as in the same tempo and type of beautiful swelling motion. It simply just ... works and with the same intensity and energy. Cheers, Troels
@@Soundpaintmusic So now... how about the polyport onto a pedal steel guitar?
@@ibdense I would LOVE to have a great Pedal Steel using our tech. We just have to find a really good player and get going. Cheers, Troels
Wow THanks!!!! Love the portamento!!!!! :)
Yeah. These were specifically done to match Staying Alive. So tempo - same tone. Nice emotional swelling and a joy to play ... polyphonically! ❤️❤️
KIT is going to be pleased ...ha ha ..... So am I ... Thanks !!
🌃🏎🎻
I love them, I see that with this library you can make a lot of anime-style music, and soundtracks for anime video games, I can't wait
Yes! It can absolutely do the anime style, which tends to be a more studio focused sound, but with high energy. This is exactly what this library is about!
I've been dying to find a library that would let me do the violin runs from Eureka seven and here it is 🙏🏽 thanks Soundpaint
End of may is too far.
Damn you!
I want the power of Disco in the palm of my hand now!
WHOA!!! The sample recordings are stellar, and so is the programming! Can't wait for the release :)
Thx - we poured a lot of love into this one - from heavy R&D (yes disco strings R&D) to countless of hours in session to rally get the energy right and then months of editing and developing new tech to support it all. ❤️❤️
Good Job !!!!!!
Thanks Fabian!
I want it, I want it, I want it. Can't wait for the 23rd!
You shall have, you shall have, you shall have!
I'm so bored by Hollywood, yes I want this grinding funky stuff
Can't wait to show you Marky. I completely feel the same! Cheers, Troels
Groovy, baby! 😎
Thank you Kenneth. It really does excel at groovy/rhythmic writing. Wait till we show you the thousands of ornaments.
Oh I want this...
Cool!
If this was a "game" it would be called a system-seller. WANT!
Thank you Hummel. Comments like this makes it all worthwhile. In part cause I always wanted SP to feel fun and inspiring to use - like a good video game. Thankfully our "console / engine" is for free! ♥ Troels
Very very nice ☺️ Now if you can just make one for brass.👍
🎺🎺 Coming up ... : )))
Well I haven't been excited for a VST in a minute now. This is exactly what I want ✨🔥
it brings le chic in soundpaint
They were certainly a part of the inspirational canvas - and you can 100% do their same bubbly and vibrant string writing with this. You are spot on!
Wonderful!
Curiously, this would also be applicable towards the creation of content geared towards Pan Indo-Persian and Arabic theatrical scoring (including the typical sounds of Bollywood strings, since its origins are at least in part influenced by Disco), given the very distinctly stylized tail-end hooks or bends.
Excellent question. The tuning is a bit different, since this is tuned for western styles of Disco, Pop, Funk, RnB etc. However the performance and energy is there, so with a little pitch-bending here and there you should be able to get pretty close.
@@Soundpaintmusic
Indeed. Chromatic tuning (twelve-tone scale) is not "natively" Oriental nor Arabic, for instance. But, given that many other scale steps can be "extracted" from the chromatic scale (ex. primary Pentatonic scale steps are *nested* within the Chromatic scale), this is usually a relatively easy compensatory task, even for beginner musicians.
Ho please do a second version like oriental it will be a big success too !!
Which Soundpaint library are the "WOO!" chants from the Knight Rider from? And the hint of electric guitar at the end. 🎸🕺
The guitar is our 2020 PRS, so already here. Fantastic for solo!
Amazing!! When will be the release date?
May 23rd 2024. $99. See description for more detail. 🙏🏻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻
Is that funky bass in the first song included in any of your library?
Everything you are hearing is made with Soundpaint. But the bass in the beginning is coming from our Jupiter 8. Perfect fit for this. Cheers, Troels
We need that walkthrough....
Indeed!
@@Soundpaintmusic ok, make sure its Troels but also maybe make 2 walkthroughs. One short and one long. I prefer long. But I'm also tired of people complaining that they only want to hear the sounds. 2 versions means you can satisfy both viewers!
Where can I get this? I can’t find it anywhere!
Hi Tom. It’s out later this month. September 23rd. $99. See more info in description. ❤️❤️
Can’t find on the Soundpaint website ?
Coming May 23rd 2024 (see description for more details)

@@SoundpaintmusicThank you so much,it s enough for us..Greetings from Discorama Music.🧿🥂 We will have this bank and will pin you when we use.Thanx a lot again.
@@SoundpaintmusicAnd before we forget, I think Native Instruments - Session Strings 2 will learn a lot of things from you...We love Opus but as you know disco is a completely different culture and has its own dynamics. And congratulations on a job well done!🧿🥂
Stop with the teasing.....Soundpaint & 8Dio library owners should get it early in advance🤔
A Repackaged 8DIO Intimate Studio Strings with a bigger HD footprint?
Sign me up!😑
Actually, this is all brand new material, freshly sampled just six months ago in our beloved new studio! It offers a richer, fuller body sound compared to ISS and responds wonderfully to reverb. I devoted over a year in pre-production analyzing all the greatest disco string tracks to ensure we captured its true essence. So whether I need to recreate Le Chic, Abba or Bee Gees I am covered. The fidelity and depth of the sampling are also magnitudes greater than ISS. Cheers, Troels
@@Soundpaintmusic Thanks for the info, and apologies for the snark😉, tthey sound really good (as always).
I know that Adastra was reconstituted stuff, which is fine, but dang the amount of space Soundpaint libs take up is pretty hefty, but uncompressed samples are definitely better for fidelity.
Guess I'll have to buy another hard drive...😆
@@alexanderyaroslavich2703 Thank you for reflecting, Alexander. I appreciate that. Disco Strings is the first out of many new-generation titles. Its harder to do, since we are sampling several times deeper then we used to, while also developing new technologies to match it. I also made this little teaser using articulations that never done before ... Disco Strings. The size of the library is about 25GB. It contains 29.000 samples across 3 vintage mics. We are introducing new compression soon getting us to Kontakt level. ua-cam.com/video/AQDi2yB0qWk/v-deo.html
