- damianbacci.com In this guitar lesson we will be learning The Beatles version of "Words of Love" from their 1964 album "Beatles For Sale". The song was originally written and recorded by Buddy Holly back in 1957. Enjoy the lessons friends. :)
Great song and great lesson, keep up the good work Damian!
Thank you Ian. :)

In the 1960s, when I learned to play Words of Love, you would not believe how many times I had to play the record over and over again to learn the guitar parts. Back then, that was the only way to learn a new song.
Thanks for watching Jim :)
Thanks Damian! It's always a pleasure to hear and play some Beatles music and it's always a pleasure to learn something from you!
Thank you Gar Krol for the kind words. :)

A friend liked the Mini SB so much he bought two so he could to run the Mini SB head through two Mini SB cabs. I bought the other head from him and I run it through a 1x12 cab, vintage Jensen speaker. I really like the reverb tone and I like it best without pedals. This lesson has more of a Buddy Holly sound than a Beatles sound to me. Thanks for posting.
Hi Mark
Thanks for checking out the lesson buddy. Glad to hear you're digging it.
The Mini Super Beetle is great. I don't think I've read a bad review of one yet.

Best lesson on this song on UA-cam. I love the tabs as I am tone deaf and I need tabs to play as its difficult just to watch someones fingers, even though they explain what they are doing.; Great fun video also
Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.

Same here. Gretsch hollow body into Anolog Alien's Rumble Seat (delay/reverb/overdrive) into a Vox AC 4-12. Nothing will ever replace tubes! Used them back in the 80s in my Mesa/Boogie 400+ bass rig. Great vid as always, Damien!
Thank you George.

@@Damianblf Cool! Thanks Damian.
Love this lesson! The Beatles are my all-time favorite band. I can definitely say my interest in rockabilly, blues, and early country came from wanting to learn about their influences. Your channel is definitely on my wavelength.
Really want the Mini Superbeetle too!
Hi Heather

Yay back with the best band of all time! Could u please do a lasson on the solo from The Beatles You Can't Do That?
Hi iMPERiAL GAMiNG
Hope you enjoy the lesson. "You Can't Do That" is a great tune. I used to play this song a lot in one of my old bands. Lennon's solo is a fun one to play. I'll write down your request in my request book.

Great lesson! Thanks!
Thank you Danny :)
You‘re so right, Damian. I heard these words long time ago....when i was fifteen, my father lies on his deathbed an told me: boy have fun in your life and be happy....Stay happy Damian, Greetings from Germany
Thank you for sharing that personal story with me. Life is a precious gift, so many people take it for granted.
Cheers, hope you're having a great weekend :)

Buddy Holly O MEHOR DE TODOS OS TEMPOS, INCRÍVEL, COMPOSITOR NATO CONSEGUIU UNIR ROCK E BLUES..... ANOS 40,50 E 60 SÃO OS ANOS DE MELHORES COMPOSITORES....
Meu Favorito e o maior de todos, ele foi a principal razão pra mim comprar uma guitarra (junto com os Beatles, é claro).
Love the lesson. One challenge with this song is whether to play the Beatles or the Buddy Holly version. I came up with an acceptable (to me) mix of the two, leaning toward the Beatles. You gave me a few ideas on how to better play it. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed the lesson. Thanks for watching. :)
Great lesson 👍
Buddy Holly's fan from Brazil
Thank you for watching :)
Just a great track and excellent lesson. Such a beautiful melody. Thanks very much Damian!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the lesson :)
What a happy and educational Beatles lesson!!! the on screen tabs are really
. Your personality contagious. Lucky for me your lesson Roll over Beethoven from 2012.7showed up on my home page, so very happy to find you again! Looking to be a big fan.
Mike puchelli did a tremendous lesson of don't let me down but you have to pay for the tabs! Your lessons are from your heart, your generosity, and a deep love of music.
Well done
I remember in the 60's that Ringo was playing on a hat box. The original release of Words of Love was on the album Beatles lV.
Thank you Jack for the kind words. It really means a lot.

Good teacher
Thank you for the kind words. :)
And I should have added the challenge of creating a single guitar part from the lead and rhythm parts of Buddy Holly and the Beatles versions. Again, thank you for your insights.
Thanks for watching Stephen :)
Love it Damian, great energy in your version. (the backing track helps:). Like that you left the dice knobs on your Setzer.
Thank you Brad. Glad to hear you enjoyed the lesson.

Hi Juke voxx
Thank you for stopping by and checking out the lesson. I've always dug the solo and how they made the music to FEVER very similar to Hang On Sloopy. I'll put this song down in my request book.

How much is the Vox? I really like your tutorials!Thank you!
Thank you Derek. I think the amp is priced around 400 dollars at the moment.
Damian, I think you are a guy to ask. I'm thinking of buying a semi-hollow Gretsch style/ 335 type guitar. Can you recommend anything that gives you the most bang for your buck? I can go to the $1200 range- maybe a little more. I've been looking at DAngelico guitars. I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks and thanks for the great lessons!
A model that comes to mind is a Gretsch Electromatic G5420T. It's is a great guitar and it's under $1000. Which is a great price. But it really depends on what you personally like and feel comfortable playing. I love Gibson, D'Angelico, Gretsch and Guild guitars. I really enjoy my Guild X-175 Manhattan. That may be something to look into. If you like the sound of P90 pickups that may be a guitar to check out. They run a little over a thousand dollars.
Damian thanks for sharing your wisdom here. I'm looking into these. Some very nice options and yes I do love that smooth p90 tone. Thanks!
Buddy Holly did this song using Fenders and a Champ amp and it sounds better ..the Beatles had better amps but I dont know if they sound any better than Buddy's .....I love this song my wife and I are having our 50 wedding anniversary party next month and I am going to use this song while I give her my special gift .....
I noticed a lot of the backing tracks used for the guitar tutorials are not by the original artists. Is it a You Tube restriction?
good
Is it just me or are The Beatles woefully underrated when it comes to their outright ability as musicians.
Really? Do you not know this is NOT a Beatles song? You are crediting the wrong band!
Hard to play piece. And I have been playing for 45 years.
Sounds like Buddy Holly
Thank you 70snut Todd

I was missing the bike 😊
Holy shit I didn't know Bert Kreischer did guitar lessons
Why is the lesson like 30 seconds and the video 9 minutes
I love your videos but I hate the fact that the Beatles get more credit than buddy holly for this song
Look at it this way: it goes a long way toward keeping Buddy’s music alive
