Kudos to the orcas for their intelligence, organization and teamwork but the day was for the greys. The greys showed they are very formidable even when surrounded and constantly attacked by “wolfpacks” of orcas. Also noteworthy is that a mother’s love and instinct clearly should never be under estimated. Respect to these magnificent sea mammals.
I love the ending because usually this group of killer whales (orca) usually win when they attack other whales.
First time I watch a video where orcas gave up...
Yup I know me too I’m shocked
Yes i always see grey whale so weak but not this time.
Me too
3:38 and the Killer Whales went hungry....Hahaha...Guya you forget you watch NatGeo:))
The Masters of "Worst Cut Vids" and "Fantasy Kid Stories"....it's a real Trash Cannel!!!
This was training for the younger ones
FINALLY A VIDEO WHERE THE GREY WHALE WINS!!!! YES!!!!!
THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!! I WAS SO HAPPY!!!
YEAHHHH I AM SOOO HAPPYYYY!!!!😂
I FEEL THE SAME WAY CONGRATS TO THE GREY WHALES ACTUALLY CONGRATS TO THE MOTHER SHE DESERVES MOTHER OF THE YEAR.
The poor orcas! I wish they had won
Thanks for letting know so I can move on. Lol. Wrong animal won haha. Sorry I'm not mean. Just wanting see one for their strategy.
Yesssss !!! go grey whaless !!! finally a happy ending for them
Good to know that the grey whales also have defensive moves for survival.
That is one amazing mom.
1:17 that grey whale making a rainbow but if you want to look more detail here ill show you 1:15
oh wow i never seen a vid where the calf whale actually survived. glad to see.
That is truly amazing almost every documentary I see on this I usually see the Gray Whales, Fin Whales, or Minke Whales succumbing, it shows that there are defense tactics for whales.
But almost 60% and above they killed whales thats why they has that name (killer whales) this kind a scene is rare but almost scene killed whales.
Sperm whales and Humpbacks usually can drive them back
@@heavykraken2464 Nah a bull Sperm whale would destroy a orca 1on1.
"but the mother would not give up on cub" i was like oh really it supposed to be a happy ending, great
I'm crying :( Such a fight.Baba whale struggled for his life :( So hard to see things like that.
It's called nature not evil. There is no Pathmark in the ocean for the Orcas to get there food. >__>
DO A BARREL ROLL!
2 hour battle? That is nuts!
Killer whales are not whales, in fact, they are the largest mammal in the dolphin family! their name is orca, nicknamed killer whale coz they hunt in whales, much larger than their size!
Dolphin and whale are not terms used for cetacean classification. Therefore calling them whales is not wrong.
no, orcas and dolphins are whales..
Lenette Beauty Reviews shut up.. you don't think these people know that already? Gtfo
@@christiannedelgado9309
Orcas and whales are cetaceans, Orcas are the largest species of dolphins.
@@Hyraladen
"Gtfo", get your judgemental self out of here.
What's wrong with them correcting people? Some people may not even know this.
Мама китиха с китенком победили. Слава Богу, счастливый конец! Это большая редкость.
I feel the same, although humans should let nature take its course, I was rooting for the Mom and calf. They used some pretty impressive defensive maneuvers.
It makes sense but if you really think about it, the compassion of humans is also just part of nature, just like some species help other species sometimes.
This is power of mother's love for her babies....
An exemplary mother
Amazing Footage, Amazing info, Good stuff
This is the first time I've heard of them getting away.
I am always amazed when people say " cruel killer whales", or "evil lion", etc. How about they're hungry and they want to eat? They were born to be predators, they cannot graze and eat seaweed. I also feel very sorry for the little calf, but unfortunately this is how the world is working, for the better or the worse.
Killer whales have killed Humpback whale calves and eaten only their tongues. Check out Whale Watch Cabo video.
So much respect for the cameraman and the video crew
I recently had a chance to see grey whale - awesome experience
*speechless*Nature :( soo beautiful
Well, that's a shock. Never thought I would see a video proof of Killer Whales giving. They're normally so relentless.
The orcas are smart forcing the gray whales to get smarter. Amazing tactics!
Amazing footage!
Amazing Escape
That is an amazing sight.
Yes yes yes I'm SOOOOO happy for them !! I love orcas but dam all whales should get along !!! 💞💞
Well dolphins arw toothed whales (even though they broke away from the family) which means they use there teeth as its intended, as predators.
Orcas require vast amounts of meat and grey whale calves provide that.
Predator and prey cant get along.
"Excited." You were excited to see Orcas hunt the Gray whale and her child???
Brett Glasco Hell yes it is exciting to watch. Nature in its purest form is amazing. Survival of the fittest.
Not exciting, it's necessary but far from exciting.
Brett Glasco it's facisnating yes
Brett Glasco uhhh yeah
As a marine biologist any kind of interaction between wild animals is of interest. To have the rare chance to watch killer whales trying to hunt whales, and even to film it, is probably a once in a lifetime experience.
Nature is pretty brutal sometimes. As humans we're pretty detached from the realities of survival.
wow! that is Awesome, in the true sense of the word!
I was at baja California 6 months ago, but now regret not seeing the whale but saw mount kuchuma
Great escape!Killer whales are all over Monterey bay they are extremely smart and quick. I witnessed two killer whales one time trying to hunt a seal it was rather unevering. I was running Del Monte Beach they caught it.I was born and raised in Monterey,CA, ran Del Monte Beach every day for five years from Monterey to Seaside right on the bay.Saw other animals twice saw great white shark fins lots of otters and seals. Would never swim in that water ever, but the beach great place to run.
amazing!
You are my hero!
I saw this originally on either discovery channel or may Geo. they are teaching the babies to hunt, had it been anything other than that the adult males and adult females would have been making the attack. in the end the killer whales break off the attack and the mom and calf get away
Whales could go deep ocean but Orcas don't go that deep, so they can use that tactic to escape from orca attacks right?
Tq 4 the video
@captainunload well yeah.it's nature at work and human's being human's we often look at struggles like this and want to put a label on it to.....i guess rationalize our feelings. but we are indeed fortunate, lucky and privileged to witness it.
Wonderful
that is one amazing whale. if it survives the next years it will grow into a strong healthy one! survivor of the fittest! well he or she is!
Good one!
use defense curl!
wailords defense went up
WOW really?
Thanks!
What a fascinating thing to see.
Happy with the ending
So big...yet so helpless
almost brought tears to my eyes seeing the mother & baby grey whale being ambushed & killed by the killer whales.....
.......the ending finaly made me smile as they escaped unharmed :)
You're a genius!
Noooooo! The orcas shouldn’t have gave up so soon!
yeah me too
1:16 , pretty rainbow~
Thanks. :D
@griessinthewood well that's charming.and what have you brought to the table to help this discussion?anything relevant, anything insightful, anything at all?
phew THAT WAS INTENSE!
i love the ocean or whats its called :P
that was cool!
Teruslah berjuang , ibu paus abu-abu yang hebat , kalau kamu menunggu ibu untuk menyerah , maka kamu akan menunggu SELAMAnya , FIGHT TO THE DEAD ! semangat
Thank God!!!
@griessinthewood LOL, why...did i touch a raw nerve or something?
Good job Grey Whales!!!!
I already see orca vs humpback
a mother's love ;)
sensational!
THANK GOD!!!
WHY WILLY WHYYYY!!!!
nice
I am so happy that the mother and kid are safe. Maybe the killer whale have hart and pity the new born baby and mum.
looks like even apex predators can sometimes bite more than they can chew...
mother's love......
@griessinthewood LOL
Well.. it was good practice for the killer whales though :)
did they went hungry or are they traing
Grey Whale’s Rock!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I wonder why the orcas gave up. I've seen smaller groups attacking for much longer, not stopping.
Did some of these orca sustain too many injuries for the group to continue? I'll never know. 🤔
They don't have endless amount of energy. They get exhausted too. Plus I'm sure they got tail whipped a couple times by the mother whale.
david attinbourogh my favorit
I always knew that Orcas are Weaklings
They arent ur a weakling
I'm pretty sure the Orcas didn't give up, probably training their young.
I'm not sure if they would train their young during an annual event.
They probably did just give up, they do get tired after all.
You enjoy the clip as well. what's up with the suddent fake guilt anyway.
I like it when the underdog wins .
@goatboyful your right this is a privaledge to witness this either who do or we die
Poor baby whale!
torpedo escape...dammn..lol
i felt like so thankful..hehe
Go grey momma whale! Way to save your baby! Orcas are the wolves of the ocean. They're beautiful though.
Canada also spells it Grey, like the UK.
A happy ending for all, next bedtime story please''
Not for the orcas who starved, maybe not to death but felt all the pain of no food.
Have you gone weeks without food because thats what they most likely did after this.
Why is the chasm dangerous?
They see me rollin'.....they hate it cuz they don't think they can catch me....
yes they are, they evolved from the same prehistoric creature. Just like there are many types of dogs, like a lab is a lot different than a terrier, but they are both dogs
it was a comparison between the two animals though it is purely theoretical
poor baby O.o
You're welcome!
Касаток обожаю.но не могу смотреть как они молодых китов убивают.очень жестоко.Выживает сильнейший закон природы.
That's bizarre, that 7 ton predators don't use their jaws at all in hunting? I expected to see some blood.
That shit kipt sloing down
