Lived in Florida for many years, family still there They are in for a wreck of a time. Hope you don't get a lot from it. Stay Safe.
Hurricane Beryl went right over my home and it was full on for about 5 hours or better. Real strong for a Cat. 1. Not a gully washer, but mostly wind. I admire the way you designed your place. I'm working during the hours you do your Live, but will donate as much as I can when I get paid. (Go Raven!)
Hope the storm is over quickly with minimal damage to all ❤
Wishing you the best and safely through this storm too.
Your horse appears to be wondering why you’re talking and not getting on with removing his saddle! 😂
Good luck! Stay safe
We had a freak tornado in our village which lifted sheds, garages and stable blocks into the air.
It's very rare in the UK but this one caused mayhem with the road blocked with many fallen trees, and all the power lines down
Whereabouts are you in the UK? I’m up in Moray, Scottish Highlands and last year we had a wind blow through that levelled one of my outbuildings. Thankfully it was unused at the time!
Stay safe, Tim & family! Appreciate the updates & info. We're north of Pensacola, so are just a bit closer to the potential storm effects. We just finished yard work & putting stuff away that could go airborne. Got crockpot surprise going for supper. Gonna put out extra hay for the goats & give 'em a pumpkin to work on while they stay under shelter tonight & tomorrow. Got some veggie treats for the chickens. Praying for all who will be affected by Hurricane Helene.
It looks like it’s gonna be a HUGE storm and you’ll get some bands of rain and wind but basically missed. Fingers crossed 🤞 🙌
My thoughts are with you guys and everyone in the hurricanes path. Hope ya's and the horses all stay safe and minimal damage🤞🙏🏻
Wishing you all the best
Im trying to find a place where there are no tornadoes or hurricanes whenever i get my farm going.....sick of em tbh
Take care all at Tim Anderson Ranch.😇😀😁
Always something, isnt it?❤
❤❤❤
I'm interested in the design features you have on your buildings to safety proof against hurricane damage. !
Site your buildings high, create swails around them to direct water away from the building, give water a path to drain your land. Use materials suited to withstand rain and hurricane force winds, like concrete, steel, and fiberglass. Building design post 2002 included clips and straps ro secure the roof rafters to the header beams or top plate. The walls secured to the sill plate and thus the foundation. Roof design changed a bit with more hip roofs being incorporated. This directed wind down toward the foundation instead of up under the roof. There were so many examples of roofs being completely lifted off the top of houses, and houses completely moved off their foundation. Prior construction practices had roofs resting on walls, and houses just resting on foundations. They started using these steel straps and clips that anchored roofs to houses. These clips are several dollars each. X the number of rafters, it was a very effective and cheap remedy. Newer construction often includes various tyes of shutters and storm glass. Hope that helps. Human ability to adapt is fascinating to watch.
@@blondeenotsomuch Thanks! many building round here just lifted off their base😱😨
Stay safe!
