Best way to halter one, you have control of the nose not chasing the nose like the other way

Will you share more information about bit sizes and the proper fit for your horse? Please?

Hi, was it Horseman Tom Dorrance who said something about 90% of the time it is a horse with a human problem??

Sounds right. Sadly most people can't read their horses. They tell us and it can be worked out how to change the situation. Being in tune and knowing your horse is so important. Most people I know are too impatient, don't know enough about horses and always blame the horse for any problems 😢

The horse I currently own is unlike any horse I have ever met, I have never seen a horse so hard to get a bit into his mouth. He is very green despite being 9 years old. He has only had about 20 rides on him, and most of them in a Hackamore because people could not be bothered to spend the time needed to get a bit on him. It's just easier/convenient to use the hackamore with him. But when I have got a bit in his mouth, maybe 4 or 5 rides, he has been AMAZING, he moves better, turned better/softer and listens so much better. His issue is...he will NOT unclamp his front teeth to get his mouth open for the bit. If you put your finger in the corner of his mouth you can get him to open his mouth but then he INSTANTLY lifts his head all the way up high (and he is 15.3hands while I am 4'11"!) or dodges to the left or right, instantly clamping his front teeth back closed. I once struggled for 3 hours working on trying to get the bit in, with no luck. I tried every approach, nothing has worked. I am at a loss.

Hey! I’ll have Keith answer this question the next time we film a round of YT questions, which we do about once a month. But if you want his coaching every step of the way to fix this issue, any any others you encounter, I’d recommend jumping into his CCU Club group coaching program before the gates to enrollment close tonight. That’s gonna be the best way for you to get the support to get this issue resolved. Use code UNIVERSITY to get your first month for only $16 CAD. Sign up at CowboyCampusClub.com/register

Sprinkle some salt on the bit, after you take it out, will help them look forward to being bridled.
No shortcut, still have go through the other steps.

So our horse is getting quite hard to bridle. I suspect I and my wife bonk his teeth taking bridle off - so obviously we are causing the problem. However he tosses his head while I’m taking it off - so I cannot gently control the bit. Any suggestions.

We do not control horses with the bridle. We control horses best with our mental state. Horses can learn to listen with the bridle, bridleless or liberty - if there is a mental connection between a horse and a human. We live in e quantum reality, and horses read and understand high vibration.

If you treat the horse like that, of course he is not going to want to be bridled.

Pain compliance is not training. Rope halter. Haven't meant a horse that likes metal in their mouth.

if your hands are soft it isn't painful

@@thecowboycampus then why use the bit if so soft...... soft hands standard answer... I believe you.... rope halter is better IMO.... soft hands do not change the fact that a metal bit is a pain compliance device...
