Lisa, I’m sure your mother probably remembers, but when I was growing up in the 50’s, my mother loved to shop for me and my sister. We lived very near a small town, (but, was the County Seat) and we had a “down town”. There were some nice Department Stores, one of which was called The Grand Leader. They had beautiful window displays with mannequins dressed in some of their new fashions. When mother would check out, the cashier would fold nicely, just like you like, all the clothes in these flat white boxes. The cashier was placed in the middle of the store, with high counters. I would stand on my tippy toes to watch them pack the clothes. It was always such a thrill to come come home, open the boxes, pushing all the white tissue paper aside and hang the clothes up and put in the closet. Times have certainly changed, but the memories stays forever!! ❤

My mom worked in a local dress shop in town in the 70’s and they placed all purchases in a white box with tissue paper also. Very special times ❤

I live in Florida, and I love Lilly Pulitzer!! have worn Lilly for 20 years, I have items I have had for literally 20 years and it still looks great, these items hold up if you care for them. Lilly always puts a smile on my face and I just enjoy wearing it, so much fun...
I recently watched 'The New Look' - it's how Christian Dior became Dior and how Chanel got through the war in France. The fashion isnt the main thing but learning what he went through gave me great appreciation for him.
You can wear your Pulitzer in Vegas. I wore mine last year and got so many compliments from men and women of all ages. Also, I agree with you on trying on in the store. You'll fall in love with the item and feel inspired to dig a little deeper through the store. Plus, in some of the stores they will make it a shopping experience by offering refreshments and fussing over you which is such a pleasure. I actually think Lily is a very good look for you! It is mature yet playful, and goes well with your skin color and blonde hair! I'm wearing my Lily today to go buy plants! lol
Love this Lily haul, everything looked beautiful on you... really great inspiration for that time period and mood. The pink shift was very Priscilla Presley-esque... the Sofia Coppala movie was fabulous fashion eye candy for sure. White Lotus is filming the 4th season right now in Thailand! GORGEOUS. Oh my goodness. Haven’t watched Palm Royale but will soon. Right up my alley. Think you’d also love the looks of Capote’s Swans. A bit darker perhaps but all fashion, society, luxury.
Everything is gorgeous including the luggage 😍!!! I love shopping by myself too, I love to go thrifting during the day and just take my time. It's so relaxing to me.

I’m from Palm Beach and Lily Pulitzer was also friends with Estée Lauder. Lily made dresses for her lemonade stand and sold more dresses than juice LOL and Jackie’s dress was made from kitchen curtains. Shes the epitome of Palm Beach life. I also just did a VS haul. I haven’t shopped there in years but the sweatsuit you’re wearing called my name LOL. Great sale going on right now.

@@tooniemama6959 yes I was a counter manager for Estée at the Burdines Palm Beach Mall before they tore it down and built the outlet shops. I even got to meet her before she passed (that’s how old I am). LOL Estée had a few campaigns with Lily they were so pretty 🤩
Lily Pultizer is my all time favorite brand and place to shop. It is 💯 my vibe. I live in the Midwest so I definitely stand out here. But I don’t care! ☺️😁

Hi Lisa, Many years ago go I worked in a wonderful boutique in Wellesley Ma. The owner was a rep for LilllyPullitzer so you can imagine how much of her delicious merchandise we carried. The store was an explosion of color which always made me smile. I loved everything you pulled out of that fabulous suitcase. We also had a store in Martha’s Vineyard & it busy it was with Lilly tourist. It’s a wonderful vibe and Palm Royal is fabulously kitschy! I live up road from you in Sneads Ferry, I might have to visit the store in Wilmington! Loved your show today.❣️

Lisa, I love butterflies 🦋 too. They remind me of my mother who passed at the age of 57. Too young. I have butterflies all over my house, especially love the blue ones. Last Dec I got my first tattoo. A little girl, for my daughter’s nickname and the little girl was originally holding a balloon behind her back, but I replaced the balloon with a blue butterfly. I think of my mom and daughter when I see it on the inner part of my lower left arm. I also got a twig with 3 leaves on it, as that day I went with my step daughter, her daughter, my daughter in law and youngest daughter and we all got somewhat matching tattoos. They all got a really pretty vine and I got the last branch of the vine that was on their tattoo. This not only connected us tattoo wise, but the 3 leaves also stood for 3 generations of ladies bonding together that day. I wish we could attach pictures to the comments. Would love you to see it.

Best single store haul in the last many many months. Zara is great for what it’s worth, (and completely understand that there is an audience for that) but personally am over the cheaply made clothing. Doesn’t excite the same. This is truly happy clothing. Made me live vicariously through you and could feel your happiness all the way up the coast to coastal Canada, in New Brunswick 😎🏖️🌸
All of those LP dresses look amazing on you! LP made the pink & green designs synonymous with the Palm Beach lifestyle. She was a Palm Beach socialite. I used to live in West Palm Beach (just over the bridge) to Palm Beach. You really should plan a visit to Palm Beach & Worth Avenue to visit the boutique. It is a beautiful part of Florida with the intracoastal waterway. So much history there and I love all of the architecture on Palm Beach.

Oh my gosh! I hear a choir of angels singing this morning! These dresses are so pretty and I wear Lily all the time! Now you need to wear them too, don’t put them in your closet and go back to wearing black and beige. You look so beautiful in these colors. Wear them around the house so you get used to them, again you look great!

This was such a fun video! I just love shopping too, not purchasing. and I love Preppy style but it doesn't always suit me - but I love to mix in beachy vintage prints when I can. The whole time you were talking about Lilly's story, I was thinking about DVF too and then you mentioned her! I love designer's stories and Lilly's was very interesting. I love when the brands stay true to the original preferences and vision i.e. the built in bra support. This inspired me to make a matching outfit for me and my little girls! children are absolutely magical and little gifts from heaven✨

Love the idea of wearing no bra. Those dresses are beautiful, definitely wear them when you go to Vegas . Last year when I went to Vegas, I only wore dresses kept me cool and easy transition if you don’t want to go back to the hotel to change for dinner.

I have several Lily Pulitzer pieces that I bought a few years ago. When we lived in West Palm Beach I always went into her store and it was so beautiful.
I used to live in WPB. Palm Beach is so beautiful. I miss spending the afternoon strolling Worth Avenue and having dinner. Palm Beach has a very European vibe.
I grew up in upstate NY with a local department store that was the Macy's/Bloomingdales of upstate... The Carl Co. They had so many beautiful things for wardrobe, and the home. And even a very special restaurant. Loved Mr and Mrs Carl, as well. They were wonderful giving ppl- paid for the Thanksgiving Day parade and many other events. My Aunt worked in HR there and my Father ran their security for all their stores. So we were part of the Carl family. And I was able to see all the behind the scenes from the time I was a little girl. And as a young woman I was a sales girl, and we made shopping and amazing experience for our clients, It was so much fun! I went on to manage their shoe dept. Oh, my, the beauty shoes! Sadly, they are all gone
I was born in Miami and lived in Florida till I was 8 years old. I remember my Mom wearing shift dresses in that sleeveless style in the 60s, not in those patterns. but the vibe is the same. It's not my style but I now live in the Pacific NW and I don't look good in above the knee length dresses anyway. They look great on you and for your lifestyle.

Growing up in New England spring and summer was a barrage of Lilly Pulitzer worn by the teens and women. I always associated it with being super preppy (which is not my style) but the things you are showing are not that at all!!! Lisa when my best friend was finishing up her divorce, she was very down. I called my local Lilly store and they were amazing. They had champagne for her and the whole staff pulled happy looking dresses. She’d been wearing gray a lot. I treated her to her first Lilly dress. I explained to her that Lilly is a psychological lift better than Prozac. She wore her Lilly and everyone told her she looked amazing. It works.
You should take a trip to the Lilly Pulitzer store on Worth Avenue in Palm Beach, and then go lay out on the beach in Palm Beach. I just went in October. It's beautiful.

So fun! Lilly is something that just makes me smile. Such happy and fun colors! I totally agree that shopping and being cared for by good help makes the whole thing an experience and fun. I love going to White House Black Market for that reason. They usually have great people to help. I do not always love everything they have, but I usually can find some pieces, and their dresses are amazing!

I have tried watching Palm Royale and it just is not for me I guess. I keep falling asleep. Also the clothing, makeup, hair etc. is just not my thing either. I did find this interesting though as I always love watching your videos no matter what the subject is. LOL. In fact, my favorite dress on you was the one you were wearing shopping from Zara. The rest looked all alike to me and too much of the same print. It just seems old to me for some reason. Anyway, have a wonderful day.
I love Lilly Pulitzer clothes. I know you sew and a friend of mine has five Lilly dresses that needed hemming. I had to take the seam tape (which has the Lilly signature on it) off of the dresses and reattach it to the new hem. If I didn't, the dresses would lose their authenticity. By the way, most of the prints have the "Lilly" name hidden in there. Maybe look at your prints to see if you can find it. Beautiful haul Lisa. Another brand you might like is Maui Gold.

Everything you showed is beautiful! Your personality, style and Cat omg 😻 I wish you were my neighbor to be friends and go shopping together. I’m with you on the shopping experience. I love going in person it bothers me so much when they don’t have availability what I’m looking for and when the sales person doesn’t have any idea of what she is selling. For example makeup or perfumes. And when they want to push something just to get rid of you or make the sale even if they know those clothes don’t flatter you or the makeup is not for your skin type. It feels like sales people don’t want to be bothered and they rather us shop online so they don’t have to put any effort.

The retail industry needs to reinvent the shopping experience. Same thing happened in the early 90's when retail was going through a really bad patch. Service and glamour became the new must haves in every retail environment; shockingly it worked!

I’m frustrated that you can’t go in store shopping and find the newest and fashionable pieces. Ordering on line can be a nightmare. Sizing is not the same even in the same brand of clothing. It’s also hard to see if it’s quality.
Beautiful dresses. You look amazing in all of them. When my daughter was a toddler. We wore similar Lilly Pulitzer dresses in the same pattern. My daughter is now 24. I miss those days.
