From Wikipedia:
I-75 is the longest Interstate Highway within Georgia. It enters the state near Valdosta, and it continues northward through the towns of Tifton and Cordele until it reaches the Macon area, where it intersects with I-16 eastbound towards Savannah. For northbound traffic, I-475 provides a relatively straight bypass west of that city and I-75's route.
After Macon, I-75 passes the small town of Forsyth. The freeway reaches no major junctions again until in the Atlanta metropolitan area. The first metropolitan freeway met is I-675, then followed by the Atlanta "Perimeter" bypass, I-285. It crosses inside the Perimeter and heads north several miles towards the Atlanta city center. I-75 then runs concurrently with I-85 due north over the Downtown Connector through the central business district of Atlanta. After the two Interstates split, I-75 makes a beeline northwest, crossing outside the I-285 Perimeter and heading towards the major suburban city of Marietta. This section of I-75 just north of I-285 has 15 through lanes, making it the widest roadway anywhere in the Interstate Highway System. North of Marietta, the final major junction in the Atlanta metropolitan area is the I-575 spur. I-75 then traverses the hilly northern Georgia terrain as it travels towards Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The 180-mile-long (290 km) section of I-75 from the northern I-475 intersection to the I-24 intersection in Chattanooga is one of the longest continuous six-lane freeways in the United States (some segments along this corridor have as many as 16 lanes).
Due to recent lane widening in southern Georgia completed in 2011, the only four-lane section of I-75 in Georgia is bypassed by six-lane I-475; along this route there are at least six lanes from the Alligator Alley portion of I-75 in Naples, Florida to I-24 in Chattanooga (with the exception of a four-lane overpass on I-475 over a railroad track in Macon).
The entire length of I-75 in Georgia is part of the National Highway System, a system of routes determined to be the most important for the nation's economy, mobility, and defense.
LIved there from 2005 to 2015. Lived in Marietta and Buckhead. Took this route every single day for work and/or play. I had a 1996 BMW convertible so it was really fun to cruise these roads. Thanks for this; brings back a lotta fond memories.
Glad you enjoyed!
I live near buckhead dorrvile

Wow! This was great. I enjoyed every minute. I had forgotten about the traffic and how fast it moves. Glad I no longer live there. Thanks !!!!
Great ride on interstate 75 South to Atlanta GA
Use to travel this stretch of highway all the time.. BLAST!! (If it’s moving, of course) lol
I lived in ATL 1980 - 2005. I've been considering moving back, and have been watching driving tour videos to get the lay of the land, guess you could say

Great job!
I'll be driving this strech of road on my way to Florida and was a bit nervous about it, but now I'm ok. Thank you for posting this video!
You're welcome!
Who U Going To Visit In Florida S C
Honestly My older sister go to Kennesaw state and also have a apartment there too.
GDOT's freeway signage is finally getting better. Got rid of the horrible skinny font that no other state used. Now if they could only improve the signing on the non-freeways and clean up their insane route numbering (US highways always have a state route number along with them). US 1/23/301 just northwest of Jacksonville, FL has a stretch with seven route numbers at once!
What was that tanker truck doing ITP (inside the perimeter) @10:20?? Trucks usually have to take 285. How did he go past that and not get pulled over
How far to a rest area,? Mile marker?
I hadn’t been on I 75 in Georgia
We are traveling this road this summer on our way to Florida. Is the Interstate 75 HOV lane a better choice for any reason or about the same? Thanks. We are trying to decide to do Drury Inn in either Marietta or Morrow? Probably won’t get to Marietta GA until around 7pm that night. Any suggestions would be great.
I would recommend Marietta if you haven't decided yet.
@@1084cdw Yep. We went in mid June. We started a day earlier and ended up staying in Macon.

What time was it when this video was filmed? Traffic is not bad at all in the video…always way worse for me when I go through.
I think it was a Sunday afternoon
I went when covid first started traffic was bad that day i forgot what day it was
What time does traffic usually be going on in Atlanta?
Seems like it’s all day everyday except Sunday.
You: “What time does traffic usually be going on in Atlanta?”
Answer: Yes
@@iambecomepaul Downtown Traffic is bad all day everyday including Sundays (sometimes even at night)
Just wondering what's wrong with video? It's sometimes shaky and goes out of focus?
I filmed this one with my old camera (iPhone 8 Plus) and at the time the car I was driving wasn’t very smooth. Causing some bounciness with the camera. I’ll probably be re-filming this Highway in the near future.

Thanks I'm new to dashcam video and have never shot one myself. I guess you need a really good camera to get sharp, clear smooth video? I have a feeling the one I bought which I have not tried out yet will not give me very good results. I started watching these the other day since I was considering a drive from Kansas to Florida.
You should be fine as long as you have a modern smartphone and a pretty decent car. Mine is older so it’s not quite as smooth as it used to be. The GoPro cameras have pretty good stability overall.
I'm confused
