- Megamalai is a Beautiful Hill Station in Tamil Nadu Located at Theni district. Megamalai route can be reached from Chinnamanur through Then Palani Road Megamalai check Post. You can Travel to megamalai using your own Bike or Car after Writing Down your details in Megamalai Checkpost, For Two Wheelers Helmet is Compulsory for Rider and Pillion. Public Bus Transport are also available from Chinnamanur The Approximate Timings of megamalai bus route are given Below.

Go As Early As Possible, if you are going after 3PM They Won't Allow you until you are staying in Megamalai That Day. It's Because There will be animals roaming in the evening so make sure you start travelling down at least around 4PM.
For Reaching Megamalai tourist places You Need to Travel Across 18 Hairpin Bends, Lot of wild animals are said to live and can easily see elephant dung on the roads and I was able to see a bison on the Estate, Further Away. This Hidden Paradise is Located in between the mountains so the climate is cool and less sunny, Megamalai places to visit are less and is not like kodaikanal, Ooty but it is a place for nature lovers with less tourist and More Nature.
Megamalai is all about driving through the lush green Tea estates megamalai bike trip tamil and slanting mountains with soem dam water views. These Tea Estates were all Started by British peoples later these were maintained by private companies including the roadways to the Estates. These companies were not able to maintain the roads properly so they were left under the District Management.
Megamalai has some small places namely Vellimalai, Manalar, Upper Manalar, Highwavys, iravangalar, Maharaja Mettu The Population Here is very less and mostly are of tea estate workers. The Tea Packets can also be bought from the shop over here, only one or two canteens here and megamalai room stay, resorts and hotels are also limited. Maharaja Mettu is the major tourist place in megamalai which is not to be missed, the roads from Highwavys to Maharaja Mettu won't be good. You Need to Go Off Road For Reaching, If you find it hard you can rent jeeps from there Charges will be Around ₹ 1K to ₹1.5K.
The View From Maharaja Mettu is Mind Blowing, You can reach The View Point From 10 Minutes of Trekking. No Words Can Describe That Beautiful View of Mountains and Clouds. There is also a ruined building at the top, you can see three idols inside these statues are of Lord Murugan, Valli and Deivanai. This Temple is said to be built by the engineer of Highwavys Dam after the successful completion of Highwavys Dam. Also can see a very Old Amman statue near by which is said to be built by pandiya Maharaja and Hence The Name Maharaja Mettu. Came to know about megamalai history in tamil by a forest officer born over here.
Things to Know Before Going to Megamalai, There won't be Mobile Signals, BSNL Might Get Some Signal and No Petrol Bunks, Make Sure You Have Enough Petrol. Limited Canteens and Room Stay. If you are using maps Mark "Highwavys Dam Megamalai" for Proper Navigation, Same Route For Up Hill and Down Hill. No Entry Charges.

It was not very cold! But was indeed a bit chilling! And For The Top of the hills u have to trek a bit! If it's wet then carrying your cutie will be hard ! Can be done if you're confident about it! Else can just enjoy the other places avoiding the Maharaja mettu!
