I can never understand why after a roller set the hair gets blown dry again and curling iron, to me, that's 3X too much stress on the hair, especially with that brush being used. Looks very nice but yo got some hair standing straight up front...need some edge control. Anyway, that's just my opinion...well done!

I hear you. Some people love it though... and it makes the style last longer for some. Not everyone cares about heat and would rather heat train their hair than have keratin or a relaxer
I have a keratin treatment, have been getting them for the past 2 years. Best decision I have made regarding my hair in a while! I can skip the heat.
And, it lasts 5-6 months.
If the roller-set you get is to have just body & curls, it’s not required.
When a stylist roller sets in prep for a “Silk out;” using this step not only stretches the hair beyond the ability of a standard blow dry, but it also is meant to encourage the hair to remain “stretched” for a longer period of time.
Blowing out the roller set releases the curls; however “body” is sort of “baked” into the strands which will add to bounce and movement in the end result.
Understanding #heat and the proper use of it, wards off any potential for the dreaded “HEAT DAMAGE!”
EXCESSIVE,(which is subjective) and repeated use of heat without a proper heat protectant WILL eventually cause damage.
Scheduling heat styles and properly protecting ones hair is the BEST defense against heat damage if you CHOOSE to use it! Heat itself, is not the enemy; improper use of heat is.
Relax & Breathe! If you don’t use heat that’s cool. Your opinion is also your Right, however people often form opinions off of mis-information. Having ALL of the #facts is key to making informed decisions.

Her results are amazing. The type of hair, the way the client cares for her own hair, products used and of course the skill of the beautician played a huge part on the results. God bless your hands and that beautiful mane that lady has.

You could skip the blow dryer and go straight to the flat iron if you’re pressed for time.
Your hairstylist probably could do the same already.

The only thing that used to keep my hair silky was lustrasilk and they discontinued it😔 & it's hard to find a good HAIR stylist nowadays the stylists are all about wigs & weave
Which lustrasilk product did you use? I wonder if if was Lustrasilk Hair Culture. It was yellow in a spray bottle, kind of smelled like ammonia or vinegar. It was sprayed on freshly washed hair, then hair was dried, then pressed with a pressing comb. It created the most beautiful, shiny pressed hair.

What is a silk set? A roller set alone, will not result in straight hair like the client in this video.
This is absolutely beautiful! Why did you use the rollers at the beginning just to take them out and blow dry/straighten the hair anyway? What did the rollers do? Genuinely curious and loving the end result!! 😍

It helps to smooth the hair out and makes the straighten step more easier and for both the stylist and client the stylist won't "hurt" her arms per say and the client won't feel that pulling part so bad

Blessings Family....SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL. Make sure you use the cool button after the heat blow drying to close the hair cuticles to prevent heat damage and breakage.

I never understand why roller set to then turn to blow dry and flatiron hair. When I roller set my hair that's it and all I do. When I flat iron and blow dry my hair I don't roller set it before. I'm confused. What is the point?

For the stretch WITH body. That’s how we learned (in cosmetology training) back in the ‘80’s where hair CARE was priority. The results speak for themselves, in my opinion. Gorgeous.

That’s has been the Dominicans not a secret but pride on how to make your hair healthy, and longer by using that technique the rollers hair dryer, hair that get dry get better than wet hair or full of product.
Yes definitely a better way to dry some hair types especially if they don’t want the extra heat or if they want the press to last
so how do you avoid having the head sweat and ruin the style while you're flat ironing? This is like my biggest issue with trying to silk press my hair, cuz my head sweats almost immediately and I can never get my hair straight all the way to the root like this.
