As a Crew chief/ door gunner on the sister aircraft to the AH-1Z, the UH-1Y (80% the same parts). You absolutely nailed it. I have done literally thousands of hours of maintenance on Cobras and it feels like I’m looking at a photograph of a real one when I watch this video. Well done!
Saw LOTS of these (including a crashed one that we had in our hangar...) when I was in Afghanistan. You NAILED it, man...especially how dirty and beat up-looking they are. Flying over there is VERY hard on airframes because of the weather, sand, heat, etc and it really showed. You got it pretty spot on!
@@idaemonplasmo Yea man. It was smashed...not sure why it crashed but the impact was so hard that one of the pilots' M4 barrels was bent to nearly 90°. They hit HARD...it was pretty crazy. RIP Didn't get any pics. Not only was it all sensitive in nature/classified, doing so would be disrespectful to the fallen. I'd still LOVE you to build me an I Osprey! I was kind of "roving IT support" when I was over there and was basically constantly traveling between all three of the southern provinces. A lot was done in C-130 but a LOT was via CH-53 and MV-22. The Osprey was always my favorite. Incredibly dangerous but SO cool and INSANELY powerful. Love them!! 😁
You know someone has proper talent at their craft when just seeing one picture of a model will already tell it’s theirs. You hit it out of the park once again plasmo!
@@idaemonplasmo this is amazing, Mr. Nightshift, where is best road video build of real? I want make my son... a real tank dirama , you are big wonder full mammy thanks.
It's amazing how far we've come with kits. It used to be you had to sand off raised rivets then create recessed ones. Now we have to fill in recessed rivets to add raised ones. The circle is now complete.
Fantastic work. The sanding is impressive, crisp and level. It’s tedious work and there’s no glory in it. When it’s perfect nobody notices. The rivets also look great.
Awesome build as always. Removing the negative rivet markings and then painstakingly replacing them with positive ones on a 1/72 model requires next level dedication. Kudos.
Haha,as soon i hear the words: I gonna make some changes or Adding a few details from this man,I am for sure he will go almost all the way again. But he outdid himself AGAIN,and as usuall. Fanatastic result at the end. Was a good beginning from the weekend with again a mastclass build from David.
Learned some interesting things today:- Don't by a kit from Dream. Unbelievably and unforgivably wrong. David is undoubtedly still "The Man". Those rivet things are brilliant, wish I'd thought of it. Well saved Sir.
I’m always impressed by your attention to detail (replacing every rivet on the model, the exhaust doesn’t look right, I’m going to replace it, this access panel is only on one side got to remove the one on the other side). The results are amazing too!
I've been enjoying your channel for quite a long time and have learned a lot. You've inspired me to expand my modeling skills quite a lot. I finally was successful in constructing the metal chain for the Ducati on my 3rd attempt and have taken your examples to improve on weathering and modification skills. Thank you!
The dirty look is sooo true. I was in Army Aviation back in the 80s and I can attest they get really filthy from maintenance in the field. The rivets are true flush riveting was to give you speed but it adds to the cost and work to accomplish. Well done sir.
Love to see a Macross Mecha. Thankyou PLASMO for your work and posts from us who can not seem to find the time for ourselves. Sometimes life just gets in the way. 🍻
Gezzzz amazing Plasmo. I just finished building a 'Welcome Home' display for the Vietnam veterans. It's a Helicopter display with every American designed Helicopter that flew in that war. 49 Helicopters are in the display. 18 Hueys from diffrent squadrons? Sure wish I had seen this video earlier. I still brag to customers about you. Take care Master.
Every one of his works is awe inspiring. The attention to details and effort to take it further shows how much he cares about this hobby. I wish more people could enjoy it like he does.
Plasmo certainly has the gift for massive understatement every time he tells you what's coming up in a video. It's like Monet saying, "Today I'm just going to paint a few water lilies," or Jimi Hendrix saying, "I'm going to try a few new things on guitar today."
I think Plasmo could take a dog turd and 'make a few small modifications' and end up with a Ferrari. By far the most talented modeler I've ever watched.
For future helicopter builds, use a heat gun to soften the plastic and droop the rotor blades like they would under their own weight (if they were made of steel).
Great build and your attention to detail in this scale always blows me away! Few modellers can take a complicated build like this and break it down so, that an average modeler feels confident enough to tackle a similar build. A testament to your skills, just amazing! 👍
Another outstanding build. I think you should also build these sorts of kits, in the white, straight out of the box so that the level of modified and enhanced detail can be clearly seen comparing the box model and your enhanced build.
Plasmo: I'm going to do juuuust a little bit modification:
The best part is its never 'just little bit' 😂
heck ya 😂
😆 🤣 😂
or minor
We can improve details! 😀

Crashed one? Do you have some pictures? It was hard to find a dirty viper, but I found a few crazy dirty ah-1W. Maybe the next project? 🫡

Lots of talent and practice. And a wonderfully modest modeler.

Not gonna lie, up until the final shots of you holding it, I thought it was a LOT larger, even though it is 1/72 scale. What amazing detail you added.
I am glad that I managed to show in the picture real scale. Yes, the model is tiny. 👌

And still, I think I could make it better. :-D I am glad you like it.
This has been a great day, both a plasmo and night shift upload within two hours of each other!
I hope one day to be 1/4 the artist you are my friend

He's the goat in plastic models world😱😱😱
I love how you use the lead wires and other modifications, even when a good bit of it won't be seen. Thats the dedication I love in your work!
Great result as always! Stay Safe! 👍😊

I was sold on this channel from the moment I saw the thumbnail for this epic build! Nice weathering!
this isnt modelling
this is art
You know its a good model when it looks like metal once you finish it!
I really prefer your 1/72 models. It’s witchcraft how detailed you make them .
Master piece from Master modeller! Stunning build... cheers from Argentina
Another wonderful peice, thank you David .
Your little modifications are huge ones for us humans
I’m going to make a shirt that’s says “Just a little bit of modification”
Great video by the way always love to you my favorite modeler post a video!!

As a perfectionist myself I fully support this video. Epic build, the customisations were incredible!

Awesome model build! The Viper, Apache, and A10 are my top three favorite military vehicles.

You’re the best, I didn't know what colors to use for this model and you got me out of the problem.
Making the lights.....very clever solution!
The first music made me think of Ebroin’s channel, he uses it on almost every video lol
For future helicopter builds, use a heat gun to soften the plastic and droop the rotor blades like they would under their own weight (if they were made of steel).
Another beautiful job. Out of many YT model channels this is my favorite.
rivets took the kit to another level
the positive rivets are incredible
Awesome as usual. You're still the MVP (Most Valuable Plasticmancer).
Those rivets really sell the scale! Incredible model and result! 😳
Those rivers turned out looking really good!! Doesn't look 1/72 with all of that detail, wonderful job!
