Work Safer. Work Smarter. - Навчання та стиль
From my experience, rather than reaching and stretching over the blade from behind the table saw, the safer and more stable position is to place yourself and work from the left (i.e., non-fence) side of the saw, parallel to the blade, and control and manage your workpiece from that position. It's a much safer vantage point if you absolutely must work over the blade.
With or without the Grr-Ripper, but obviously especially without, I was taught that when ripping stock you want to place yourself somewhat left of the area directly behind the blade so that you are as clear as possible from a piece of wood flying back from the fence and the blade.
Safety glass, check!
Hearing protection?!
Kurtis Leatham, my woodworking teacher said he'd never met any blinded woodworkers, but he couldn't keep count of the number of deaf and severely hearing impaired woodworkers.
oh noes! puts the glasses on but pushes with the thumb against the blade
