    Man these two politicians deserve respect, absolutly. They are very talented, its easy to deliver critics when you're not leading, while its very hard to lead, take decisions and take on the critics, I have my respect to Brown. As to Cameron, only time will show

    @TheJinkedful this isn't a matter of being thick, this is two sides of a debate! can't you see that? Do you think just because someone has another opinion than you makes them thick?
    Anyway, by your reasoning people that own businesses shouldnt pay tax because their employees do? So Plumbers shouldn't pay tax if they employ an apprentice who pays tax? Accountants shouldnt pay tax if they employ secretaries? Really?

    @JoshPHooker Even Margaret Thatcher did not privatise the Royal Mail, because she knew that it was the only way that many people could afford to send letters. However, it made a profit of £255mn in the financial year of 2008/09, despite a pension fund deficit of £9bn. This cannot be ignored. Part-privatisation is a good idea, but not total privatisation.

  • @MrYoungIndependence
    @MrYoungIndependence 14 років тому

    The Royal Mail is a national institution dating back hundreds of years; it would be wrong to sell off part of our heritage. However, part-privatisation of about 30% would enable the Royal Mail to compete with other forms of communication, such as email and texting, and is the only way that the business can continue to deliver mail six days a week to almost every household in the country.

    @TheJinkedful So what will happen to Northern England when that subsidy is removed? Intelligent people told there is no chance for them at uni, hard working productive people told there are no jobs for them, families told there is no health care for their loved ones, elderly people seeing they will die of neglect? That just sounds dangerous and not a country I want to live in no matter how rich the some of us may become...

    Rubbish comment. He's the Leader of the Opposition asking the Prime Minister questions in the session known as 'Questions to the Prime Minister'.
    He isn't supposed to show the substance of himself or his party in PMQs - he's supposed to ask the Prime Minister questions (about government policy or decisions) - which the Prime Minister is then SUPPOSED to ANSWER.
    It's the easiest thing in the world to say that the Opposition has no substance - that will never be tested until they are in power.

    Wait till general public see what royal mail's 'modernising' will do to their postal service......watch this space............ha...ha...ha.....All you people who wanted privitisation have got what you wanted......If you want your mail at a reasonable time you can forget it ....unless you want to pay£££££££££.....'.If ' you have a postman he will be part-time or temp....You will get your mail between 11-5pm......This is what the clowns who are running royal-mail are proposing..HA...HA..HA.

    @BuckFastZombie It looks silly and overly dramatic (and well it is...) but it keeps who ever is in power in check. It allows the opposition and members of the leading party to question decisions being made and bring it to public attention. It doesn't last that long!

    @TheJinkedful it is legal because they choose to make it legal. Thats why you hear them say they could "close loop holes." Its immoral to avoid tax payment. Wheres the patriotism or the sense of care for the vunerable?If this country has made someone rich enough to be able to employ a tax accountant/bank to get them out of paying tax they should thank society for making them that wealthy and pay their fair share.
    Why is it youtube user think they can make personal comments like that?

    @TheJinkedful "taking money out of the real economy ... is wrong"- I would say look at the countries with best standards of living and emulate them: these aren't low tax economies but have been proven to get results! Hows that for observable evidence. Also Britain is the sixth richest country in the world! So the taxation system has been working up till now: Vodafone doesnt need a tax break. That money could literally saved lives, or been used to cut the deficit in order to bolster the market...

  • @andlookmore

    @TheJinkedful Ok so if I create stock and sell it in France and make a profit I have a business. I then pay a driver to transport that item and collect payment from the customer. I then take the profit, say £1000, and under the Vodafone tax example I would pay about £10 tax on my profit, while my driver would be paying at least 20% tax on his wages. Is that reasonable? What other businesses get to act in this manner? And how does moving their wealth to an offshore tax haven create more jobs?

    @TheJinkedful the private sector jobs will take over the public sector jobs is what will happen. These places have had too much government subsidy for years its about time the private sector played its part and now it will! This government is repairing the economy which takes time as browns government spent all the money and left us with a huge deficit that is unsustainable - therefore some painful cuts are needed otherwise u let the deficit get bigger and out of control.

    he doesnt ask question he just says the PM is weak and doesnt even give straight answers, if he asked straight questions then maybe he would. he also never helps a situation by giving his oppinion decently, instead he attacks labour on everything

  • @andlookmore
    @andlookmore 14 років тому

    @TheJinkedful The system that you are advocating does generate wealth, you are right, but it costs living standards, drives down wages, destroys communities. Look at the world, where are the countries with the highest standard of living, best education, happiest populations? The highest ranking countries in these follow Keynesian models NOT free market deregulated models.(Keynesian is where you have more private influence than public but the government regulates the excess of the private sector)

    As usual Cameron is most unhelpful to the siuation - nothing but negative sniping. People are completely p*ss*d off and indeed turned off by this.
    Nothing of any substance there then....mind you, what can you expect form a party that has made all the wrong calls.
    Never trust the (Con)servatives.
