- Watch the new "Behind the Mask" trailer. Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins stars Henry Golding as Snake Eyes, a tenacious loner who is welcomed into an ancient Japanese clan called the Arashikage after saving the life of their heir apparent. Upon arrival in Japan, the Arashikage teach Snake Eyes the ways of the ninja warrior while also providing something he's been longing for: a home. But, when secrets from his past are revealed, Snake Eyes' honor and allegiance will be tested - even if that means losing the trust of those closest to him.
Based on the iconic G.I. Joe character, Snake Eyes: G.I. Joe Origins also stars Andrew Koji as Storm Shadow, Úrsula Corberó as Baroness, Samara Weaving as Scarlett, Haruka Abe as Akiko, Tahehiro Hira as Kenta and Iko Uwais as Hard Master. The upcoming Paramount Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures movie is directed by Robert Schwentke.

Not gonna lie, the Choreography looks like it’s going to be pretty dope. Also, the guy who got kicked into the pit by King Leonidas is in this hahaha

Wasn't storm shadow and snake eyes trained by the same master since they were kids until storm shadow seemingly killed their master leading to snake eyes making the vow of silence. And wasn't storm shadow working for cobra? But the action sequences look amazing though.

The Arashikage Clan is a very multinational ninja clan, it has members from Ghana/UK (Peter Mensah), Indonesia (Iko Uwais), and Malaysia (Hendry Golding).
In the comics it's based out of San Francisco.
And Snake Eyes was white. So you know they were progressive.
The whole point was that Snake Eyes was gaijin who curried favor with the Hard Master, Storm Shadow's uncle, and became his favorite student.

The dude from The Raid was in one of the training sequences so you already know the martial arts choreography is going to be next level in this film.

Storm Shadow just pulled a Bruce Wayne and Aquaman move right there. He meets Snake Eyes with a full beard and recruits him and later on shaves off his beard.
This is nothing like the origin story.

Folks, in today’s Hollywood, you have to understand what “creative freedom” means. They can pick and choose what they want from source materials and make the film in their own vision. We will all have opinions on how a number of things with the character of Snake Eyes is different, but we have to stay away from making it political. You can watch it to be entertained or skip it since it isn’t anything like the source material, but don’t make it about politics.
Lack of interest will speak much louder than ramblings on the internet.

Larry Hama, one of the writers of the original Snake Eyes comics, was the consultant for the movie so most of what is in the movie was done with his advice and approval.

Character at 2:05 could potentially be jinx. It’s unclear though. There is a prominent female character in the movie listed as Akiko who’s a protege with strong ties to both snakes and storm shadow. She could potentially become jinx or start referring to herself as jinx.

He wears parts of it during training montages and dawns the full suit towards the middle of the film. Our costume designers did an excellent job with making the suit look modern but faithful to the source material.
