Derek's talents extend far beyond singing and dancing. Add choreography, painting, drawing, photography, athletic skills (gymnastics, diving, skiing, snowboarding, skydiving & more--check YT videos) and writing to the list. What most sets him apart, in my opinion, is his continual pursuit to live life with understanding. His growth as a person is evident through the seasons on DWTS and is a huge part of the reason he has won 5 times. He inspires and motivates his partners and even the viewers to believe they are more than they know and can do more than they think they can. He is not only unique on the show but unique in the world. There are not very many people who live and think the way he does. His comment to Kellie Pickler exemplifies it: "the secret to winning, EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T WIN, is doing all you can do until you lie on the battlefield knowing you have given everything you had to give and there was nothing else you could have done." He wins even when he loses. That attitude changes what he does with his partners and what he does with his life.

I appreciated the fact it was a family friendly show! I attended the show in Ohio and again in Kentucky. Derek chose me out of the audience to dance with him in Louisville. Most exciting 90 seconds of my life! LOL I have never known a celebrity who was so devoted, appreciative and kind to their fans as Derek Hough! He has the most loving nature and kind, generous heart. He has not let his success, beauty or his array of amazing talents go to his head. He has a sweet and humble spirit. Growing up, I was often the victim of bullying. So his stand against bullying really touches my heart. It is yet, another reason for me to admire him! It was nice to chat with you. Hope you are having a blessed day!
