Lahey using "shit" as a prefix in every other sentence is one of my favorite running gags, along with Julian constantly having a drink in his hand, no matter where he is or what's happening
I read a comment on another video that said John went to a McDonalds at night and acted drunk in front of staff for practice. Now I think anyone from a western country knows how drunk you would have to be to get kicked from a maccies. But John did it so well that when he tried to explain himself, they simply refused to believe him 😂 legend!
I did that once with soda at a sleepover as a kid, I poured a glass of coke and then began chugging from the bottle, everyone had the exact same reaction 😂
@@JoeG71299 Did you ever throw pissjugs out of the car window? I never understood why they threw them. They could be used again and again, just pour out the "wine".
The funniest part is John Dunsworth was never a drinker All the "alcohol" he drank was iced tea He plays a very convincing sloppy drunk for someone who hardly knew what being drunk is like he's was that good of actor! He however was a recovering gambling addict so those scenes where he plays VLTs (video lottery machines Nova Scotias version of a slot machines) must of been tough though
Two things. He was Nova Scotian. One of the drunkest places on Earth, also the most in denial. Up there with Iran. He also had an admitted addictive personality, gambling in his case. So he knew about it.
Someone offered to buy him a beer once he said no. Also, he kind of looked like he could be intoxicated (just his regular look) might as well take that and make it big. RIP bud 😊.
Small bit people miss that's hysterical. Watch how he gives up trying to get the olive on the tooth pick and smashes his hand in there splashing brine in the cabinet
I just realized, when he says “One for you, and one for me” before Randy gets back with the video game, he is already proving the Lahey/The Liquor duality 🤯
I know this show is a comedy but Lahey's drunk acting is so realistic, down to fast movements when you're excited to the slow talking when you're trying to make a point. his understanding of true alcoholism is incredible
I think the liquor stores are actually owned by the Canadian govt or something so they’re just supporting the national economy. Checked IMDB: Mr. Lahey frequently asks Randy if he wants to "hit the LC". It is short for the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission (NSLC). Wherein the provincial government licenses and sells liquor to the citizens of the province.
Ive been sober for 10 years...the acting portrayed gave me ptsd. There is less cocaine in his situation too. But i was transported to a time long forgotten.

Truly the GREATEST depiction of the trashy parts of Atlantic Canada EVER. Almost all the crap neighborhoods are like this it’s hilarious you have all the archetypes
The 'fucky the clown' skit never makes these reels but its one of the funniest scenes in the whole show. 'ricky ruined my fuckin life,-propane propane' is another one thats my favorite moment on the show but it never makes these reels
I saw Randy and Lahey live in Edmonton. The did about a 2 hour show and it was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I would say about 75% of it was completely ad lib. At one point Lahey asked someone in the audience for a joint, and he then proceeded to light it up inside an air tight suit he designed. It was the craziest thing I ever saw.
This was hilarious! But it was also really scary accurate, cause a dear loved one of mine was like this and it is really scary being the sober one in these situations. But Jim is also a brilliant character, showing how deep one can go withoit help.
Watching this while on my 18th day of no drinking. I've had my shares of benders but Im glad Im cleaning up my act. Edit: I'm 245 days sober. But I have a lot of work to do on myself.
0:34 LOL, just by names in bottles Lahey really want them in jail or kicked out. Julian, Ricky, Bubbles, Mr T, Ray, Cory and Trevor, even DVD, Jenny are in this list 💀💀
i am an alcholic. i was drinking hard liquor just like mr lahey, well not as much as he did but still. The portrail of the actor is so spot. He really looks drunk, mean drunk. Now i stick to beer

I was wondering where this video went. I'm sorry to hear about what happened
Oooof i'm so sorry! Thank you for the reupload though King, this video is always a go to when I crack open a bottle
So happy for your Re-upload, you are the liquor
Sorry to hear that, thanks for the reupload
Happy it's back I love this man thank you
Lahey using "shit" as a prefix in every other sentence is one of my favorite running gags, along with Julian constantly having a drink in his hand, no matter where he is or what's happening
Julian walked out of a car crash with his drink unspilled not even god could pry it from him
Even when he doesn't have his drink he hold his arm up as if he was still holding his glass
@@manperson973Julian got tased until unconcious by Randy and Lahey and still had that drink upright.
Julian's arms have built in gyroscopes
“I here the shit storm coming randy”
And bubbles being the voice of reason, and Ricky being the most entertaining character on the show lmao
Never has there been an actor who could play a drunk like THIS!
I think he is best but William H. Macy from shameless is good to
I read a comment on another video that said John went to a McDonalds at night and acted drunk in front of staff for practice. Now I think anyone from a western country knows how drunk you would have to be to get kicked from a maccies. Most amazing part is he was sober in real life, an actual teetotaler, insane actor ❤❤
No one will ever beat Jim at playing a drunk. Best drunk actor ever
Johnny depp: am i a Joke to you?
Pouring a tiny bit of liquor into the small bottle before necking the big one is easily one of the funniest moments in the show
Saving a little for later
Emergency stash
I never thought about that but you're right
there's a lot of details to unpack in almost every Lahey scene. it's wild
I did that once with soda at a sleepover as a kid, I poured a glass of coke and then began chugging from the bottle, everyone had the exact same reaction 😂
I literally have never seen any of this show, and yet this clip is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen, honestly. 😂 wow.
You must watch it! Im brazilian and I love it! Mr Lahey is a master, he is the liquor!
If followed since day one, and the series really comes into its own in the 3rd season IMO
Same I love it so much
Put down anything you do, quit your job, go back home and watch this show😂 Now.😂 Best decision you'll ever make
O get on it and watch it best show youll see.
RIP John Dunsworth! You will always be known as the liquor himself.
Yet he never touched the stuff... a great actor and comedian.
@@jmp01a24he was a truly great actor
@@jmp01a24yes he did lol , I’ve met him

drinking while watching this is peak comedy
Stoned too 😂
Off an edible and cracked up when he asked what kind of shampoo Julian uses
They have a poster of blink 182 in the washroom signed lol@@gort6491
you could literally *feel* the liquor when mr layhe said he was the liquor 🥃
when Lahey's trailer is filled with booze and he's been drinking from every bottle, then Randy asks him "What'll it be?"

The emotion of “and then!” When he goes from Julian’s bottle to Ricky’s gets me everytime
Yes!!😂😂😂😂 It’s like he’s on the verge of tears.😂
Literally caught me so off guard when i realized what he said 😂
Randy and Jim’s relationship is honestly really sweet. Randy really does love Lacey and I’m here for it
The "Julian!" Before he stumbles off his porch is the cherry on top 🤣
The one labeled DVD killed me lol
I am the liquor has to be the best tagline in history
The dude never touched a drop in his life. Masterclass in acting. RIP
He never said that. He drank occasionally, but he was by no means a drinker or an alcoholic.
He didn't say he never drank he's just really good at acting shitfaced, he's just drinking iced tea or colored water on film
Someone offered to buy him a beer once he said no. Also, he kind of looked like he could be intoxicated (just his regular look) might as well take that and make it big. RIP bud 😊.
@@i-papiseacucumberi-3278 Shows you how stupid drinking really is lol . Very hard addiction to crack tbh .
He was a very conservative drinker. He advocated for people to have a little puff from time to time
This was before Walter White's "I am the Danger" speech.
That is the most amazing “drunk acting” I have ever seen

when hes going from the 1st liquor cabinet to the other liquor cabinet grabbing anything he can, mixing it, and barely standing up is hysterical.
This is my pregame inspiration every time I hit the bar, we lost a legend rip mr lahey
My school’s principal was named Mr. Lahey and the kids would piss him off by asking if he was the liquor all the time lol.
This will be shown in every Canadian school showing kids the repercussions of living in a trailer park and becoming one with the liquor
1:05 the way he starts swearing while getting a drink is amazing acting
