Hi Everyone! I hope you enjoyed this video on Modern Farmhouse design. It's had a long run and many in the design community say it's dead. But it has a lot of timeless elements so I think we'll feel its influence for quite a while. I'm dying to know what you think. Do you love it or are you over it? As always, have a beautiful day! ❤Liz
Modern farmhouse can be incorporated into most styles, especially Scandinavian which is my favorite. I had to use a barndoor for our master bathroom because of a design error in our new home. It worked out fine as there are plenty of styles to choose from.
Enjoyed the video. I don’t care for the original Farmhouse, but the modern Farm house elements I enjoy. Warm, cosy and inviting. I just avoid things that are cutesy and overdone.
Good morning, Liz 😊 I like modern farmhouse myself, however I don't care for industrial mixed with. I say leave industrial for its place, it's cold in feel, from my perspective. Modern farmhouse is very comfy and inviting!
I think the elegance look is moving in. Gold is featuring a lot in hardware and picture frames. And the dark colour walls and the antique look are in. Still cosy like farmhouse but with an elegant, expensive look.
I live in a farm house so it’s hard to avoid. I’m not into trends, so you’ll never see farm signs or barn doors in my home. It’s pretty obvious where I live! I’m keeping my neutral palette with its touches of green in cushions, bedding etc, which reflect the environment in which I live. For me subtle decor is key.
What a great video! I agree with your assessment, Liz. No need to throw the baby out with the bath water. But I do think any farmhouse style looks out of place in the city or suburbs. We just bought a farmhouse on ten acres in a rural, agricultural area. I’m looking forward to finally using some of my antiques, but I’ll forego the word art and barn door - except on our barn itself!
Another great video. Thank you! I have a home in the country and I lean towards some elements of modern farmhouse. I love textured blends of neutrals that look warm and comfortable, but really don't like the use of heavy black metal fixtures or distressed finishes on furniture. To me, the good parts of modern farmhouse are the tasteful but practical use of natural materials with contemporary lines. I suppose that my version of modern farmhouse is very close to scandi or organic modern.
The farmhouse style has a lot of common with the Scandinavian one: real timber, light colour pallet, use of metal details. But it seems to me that in the Nord they look more refined.
I was late to the farmhouse trend and love it!! I always liked a country look and feel and I think farmhouse was born there. I don’t care for the worded signs but I do like some industrial accents. Also I really enjoy your channel!! Thanks!!
Farmhouse of any type is not my vibe. I don’t think it’s dead tho. Those who really love it will continue to love it. It just won’t be so over saturated in the stores.
My POV…Farmhouse, modern farmhouse, any farmhouse is on the outskirts of true home design. Shiplap, paneling, barn doors , whitewashed wood (gray/taupes) are well loved by many but uninteresting.

I’m a mid-century girl myself, but I’ve definitely seen some beautiful farmhouse looks that felt like a warm cozy hug.
I think you're spot on! Farmhouse style is evolving with the times: vertical shiplap, not horizontal, less metal, less barn doors and no word art.
I don't have it in my house, but I still like it when I see it. There are so many variations of it. I don't think it will ever be over. 🌼

Good morning, Gina! Totally agree on the industrial elements. I'm happy to see they're fading out.
Agreed! Modern farmhouse is timeless...I love it🥰

I think Farmhouses are not totally dead but adapted to the modern style and concept. 🌿🌿

I love farmhouse - always have always will -
My friends have a barn door on their powder room. It doesn't lock. 😱😱😱😱
